Chapter 16 Does not having parents mean you'll be bullied...?

Chapter 16 Does not having parents mean you'll be bullied...?

From the moment Chen Shuo was forcibly taken away by Tang Suichen until Chen Hongfei rushed over, Dong Shufan watched from the sidelines, deliberately trying to minimize his presence.

Finally, seeing Chen Hongfei and Chen Shuo apologizing to Lu Shangyan, he gave Lu Shangyan a deep look, then left quietly without saying another word.

From that day on, his feelings for Lu Shangyan quietly changed.

He had met Pei Yumin once before, but Pei Yumin did not often appear in the public eye, and there were very few photos and videos of him. He had previously heard Lu Shangyan say that his roommate was just an ordinary office worker who liked to wear high-quality counterfeit brands, and he really thought that he had misjudged him at the time, and that they were just two people who looked somewhat alike.

He also thought it would be easy to poach Lu Shangyan from such a person; as long as he was willing to invest the time and effort, Lu Shangyan could one day be lying in his bed.

But things are different now.

He wasn't sure what Pei Yumin looked like, but he was absolutely certain of Tang Suichen's face; anyone who had been to his bar would recognize him.

Tang Suichen is known for his generosity; he only sleeps with women and never talks about feelings. He might wake up in one bed today and be in another tomorrow.

Even Dong Shufan despised this kind of person, but it is undeniable that Tang Suichen had the capital to do so. Despite his bad reputation, he still had no shortage of prey willingly offering themselves up.

Tang Suichen wasn't in such a good mood every day. Whenever Pei Yumin was with him, he would immediately change his attitude. No matter how much someone he liked appeared in front of him and tried their best to seduce him, he would at most take a few more glances, but he wouldn't reach out to touch them, let alone take them into his arms.

He could almost be described as a virtuous man who remained chaste and a prodigal son who turned over a new leaf.

But when he actually met them, he didn't think so anymore. The two were completely mismatched, and there wasn't even a hint of romance. Tang Suichen seemed more like a straight man in front of him, and Pei Yumin was even more so! Tang Suichen's restraint in front of him was just an unspoken agreement between close friends to maintain moral boundaries.

For a whole week, Dong Shufan still remembered what Tang Suichen said after he left with Chen Shuo.

At the time, Lu Shangyan knew nothing about their identities and even asked, "He's a cleaning supervisor, how can he bully Chen Shuo like this? Won't he lose his job?"

Tang Suichen smiled contemptuously and did not say anything.

Pei Yumin, standing next to Lu Shangyan, explained, "Having risen to the position of supervisor, of course I'm better at cleaning up messes."

The words were addressed to Lu Shangyan, but the gaze was fixed on him. Even now, Dong Shufan still feels uncomfortable when he recalls that look.

Dong Shufan knew these words were directed at him, so from that day on, he took the initiative to distance himself from Lu Shangyan. From the initial casual harassment to the later secret desires and tricks, and now to the forced abandonment, every step was inseparable from Pei Yumin's "manipulation".

He sighed and looked at Lu Shangyan, who was busy outside, through the glass of his private office. He looked down from Lu Shangyan's neck to his waist and abdomen. This person was so much to his liking, yet he was being forced to give him up. It really made him very unwilling.

But he had no other choice.

His gaze was so intense that Lu Shangyan, who was spraying alcohol to disinfect the dental chair, felt a shiver down his spine and couldn't help but turn around to look. But Dong Shufan had already lowered his head and started looking at the patient's X-rays.

Lu Shangyan thought he was overthinking things. After quickly cleaning up, he sat on a small chair to the side, curled up his legs, and looked at the previous patient's medical records. He had recently taken a liking to this sitting posture that squeezed his abdomen.

He was so engrossed in watching that Dong Shufan called him several times before he heard her. When he looked up, Dong Shufan was bending down and smiling at him: "This is a patient from last year. The little boy was scared when he came. His parents couldn't hold him down. They were very strong. His mother got tired and said helplessly, 'Why don't we give him general anesthesia?'"

Lu Shangyan moved back, creating a safe distance: "So what happened next?"

Dong Shufan said, "Later on Saturday, his parents brought him again. This time, his sister came along too. His sister glared at him and immediately lay down on the chair obediently, crying so hard that she couldn't catch her breath and didn't dare to say 'no' again."

Lu Shangyan had never experienced this kind of family dynamic before. He listened intently, imagining what it would be like if he encountered this situation when he became a parent in the future.

He has very few memories of his parents left, and the relatives he has in this world are vastly different from the relatives he knows. He can no longer have the family that Dong Shufan talks about. But undeniably, growing up in this environment, he has not only not lost his fantasy of having a healthy family, but also wants to have a home of his own.

He snapped out of his reverie, only to find Dong Shufan had already placed her phone, its screen still lit, in front of him: "I just received a few text messages from a stranger, and he even sent me some videos, saying that this person is you."

The video lights flickered and the picture was shaky. At first, he was dancing awkwardly on stage, but many people were still attracted to him and moved closer to him.

It was the first time Lu Shangyan had seen what happened that night, and he realized that his face was so red and his eyes were so full of desire.

He quickly flipped through the videos, afraid that some more explicit ones might pop up.

The last video showed him being half-carried upstairs by Pei Yumin, but thankfully nothing inappropriate was shown.

Lu Shangyan swiped his finger to switch out of the video and saw the message below it.

The other party said: "[Lu Shangyan is 200 yuan a night, plus a racy striptease performance.]"

[He has many sugar daddies; if you're interested, you can contact me and I'll arrange it for you.]

Lu Shangyan didn't need to call and ask who the other party was; he had already guessed based on this information.

He handed the phone back to Dong Shufan: "Could you take screenshots of all of these, or record them as videos and send them to me? If possible, I hope you won't delete them for now."

This is something he learned from Pei Yumin: to preserve evidence.

Dong Shufan immediately agreed and then started working on the case. Lu Shangyan, on the other hand, acted as if nothing had happened and continued to look at the medical records that interested him. However, today he was looking at records of children.

After passing the message to Lu Shangyan, Dong Shufan still felt regretful. If he had received the message two weeks earlier, he might have been tempted and tried to use underhanded means to sleep with Lu Shangyan. But now it was different, and he couldn't afford to gamble.

Lu Shangyan stayed until the end of the workday. When he hung up his work clothes, his expression was still calm. But after putting his own clothes back on, his expression instantly turned gloomy. He picked up his backpack and ran downstairs while texting Chen Shuo to ask where he was.

Having nothing better to do, Chen Shuo quickly replied:

[Thanks to you, I've recently been blocked by a lot of pretty girls, and now I have nowhere to go, so I'm just lying in my dorm.]

[It's perfect that you're here; we can settle all the accounts from these recent incidents!]

[But before you come, let me give you a piece of advice: it's no use going to my dad this time.]

He was indeed useless, otherwise Chen Hongfei wouldn't have released him from home so quickly this time.

Lu Shangyan felt a chill run down his spine after reading the message. He immediately ran back to school, only to find that the locks had been changed and his key wouldn't work. Chen Hongfei, listening inside, shouted mockingly, "Can't even open a door, and you're thinking of coming to settle scores with me? You might as well wiggle your ass a few more times on the bed and find another man to back you up! Wouldn't that be easier for you?"

Many people in the corridor were watching the commotion, and their snickers reached Lu Shangyan's ears. He didn't react at all and simply continued climbing the stairs to the sixth floor.

The dormitory building is not tall, only six floors. The top floor is an open platform where clothes and quilts can usually be dried. However, he did not go to the top floor. He stopped at the sixth floor, found the door number corresponding to his dormitory, pushed open the door and went in. He did not forget to say "thank you" to the person who opened the door.

He remembered that there was a small platform outside each dormitory window to shelter from the rain. The space was small, barely enough for one adult to stand on, but it was enough for him.

He opened the window and jumped up, then slowly leaned out, grabbed the windowsill and lowered himself down. Once his arms were outstretched, he used the momentum to swing forward and landed in front of the dormitory window.

Chen Shuo hadn't heard any noise for a long time, so he was pressing his ear against the door to listen. By the time he realized someone was standing at the window, Lu Shangyan had already swung his backpack and smashed open the glass window that had been latched from the inside.

He jumped in, picked up the schoolbag from the ground, and slammed it hard into Chen Shuo's face. Chen Shuo was still stunned and couldn't stand up straight, falling directly to the ground. He couldn't pull the schoolbag off his face no matter what he did.

Lu Shangyan walked over quickly without saying a word, straddled him, and punched him several times. He punched him for every message Dong Shufan had sent.

Chen Shuo's henchmen weren't around, and he couldn't dodge in time, so his insults became increasingly vulgar. Lu Shangyan continued hitting him until he stopped hurling insults, then quickly unlocked the door, grabbed his schoolbag, and ran.

Chen Shuo limped to his feet, his face flushed with anger. He grabbed the door frame and chased after Lu Shangyan, but Lu Shangyan's leaping off the building and assaulting people seemed to have no effect on him at all. He had already disappeared without a trace.

"What are you looking at! Get lost!" Chen Shuo had no choice but to run back, clutching his stomach. He had intended to act foolishly, but ended up suffering a loss in silence.

He took pictures of all the bruises on his face and body, sent them to the person he had pinned to the top of his WeChat chat list, and also sent a voice message: "Mom! I've been beaten to death!"

As Lu Shangyan left the campus, he gradually stopped. After his breathing calmed down, he realized that his hands were shaking.

He took out his phone and saw a message Pei Yumin had sent him an hour earlier, asking what he wanted to eat that night, saying that he had lost a lot of weight recently, and telling him not to go out and eat unhealthy food anymore. He said he was going to research a recipe to fatten him up again.

Lu Shangyan was upset after hearing the story and hitting someone today. Upon seeing this message, he uncontrollably asked him:

[Pei Yumin, does not having parents mean you have to be bullied?]
