Chapter 18 The Innocent Little Man
Lu Shangyan stopped in his tracks and looked through the crowd at Chen Shuo.
Pei Yumin grabbed his arm in shock and shouted in an exaggeratedly loud voice, "So this Chen student is a closeted gay man!"
His voice attracted a lot of people, and even those who hadn't noticed Chen Shuo before stopped and looked over.
Lu Shangyan felt a burning sensation on the back of his neck and moved half a meter to the side, not wanting to get involved in the matter. Pei Yumin, however, was completely oblivious to his unease and said in an even louder voice, "They've even come to the school! How shameless!"
He imitated the gossipy aunties in TV dramas, his expressions and tone slightly exaggerated. Lu Shangyan tilted his head to look at him, his eyes full of curiosity: "Pei Yumin, are you running a fever again?"
Pei Yumin winked at him, leaned close to his ear, and whispered, "How could I possibly be horny in this situation?"
He's not the kind of man who gets easily aroused by seeing two men being close; he's a pure, innocent, and gentle man.
Moreover, to protect his eyesight, he doesn't even watch movies; he only reads CEO romance novels on certain green websites.
All of this combined is enough to prove that he is at least a hundred times more virtuous and morally upright than Chen Shuo.
Lu Shangyan had no idea what he was thinking, only noticing that his expression suddenly turned smug. Lu Shangyan looked around, then gripped his bag tightly, wanting to leave quickly via a side path. Based on his past experience, running into Chen Shuo was never a good thing, especially with so many people watching.
Pei Yumin, seeing him about to leave, grabbed his wrist instead: "Let's look again, what's the rush? He always says nonsense in front of you, how can we not take this opportunity to kick him a few times and vent our anger?"
Lu Shangyan explained, "Actually, he always says the same few things, and what he says is the truth. My parents are gone, and I do like men. I've heard him say these things since I was a child, and I'm used to it. Also, every time I have a conflict with him, I get my revenge right away, so he doesn't really gain anything."
Pei Yumin withdrew her sarcastic gaze, which had been set on watching a good show, from Chen Shuo and met Lu Shangyan's gaze again: "What you're saying sounds rather pitiful."
Lu Shangyan pursed his lips, lowered his eyes and said nothing more. The reflection of his eyelashes fell on his eyes. Pei Yumin couldn't help but raise his hand to touch it, but quickly withdrew it. It was so light that if his hand hadn't been still in mid-air, Lu Shangyan would have thought he was imagining things.
Lu Shangyan tilted his head slightly to look at him: "What's wrong?"
Pei Yumin whispered, "Poor thing."
Lu Shangyan blinked a few times, not intending to leave now.
Pei Yumin stared at him for a while, just about to say something about protecting him, and fantasizing that Lu Shangyan was emotional, and then she would take the opportunity to kiss him to seal their love.
But the next second, Chen Shuo's roar shattered the hard-won ambiguity.
"I already told you you've mistaken me for someone else! Get lost!"
The other person was truly like a demon; no matter how Chen Shuo tried to push her away, she wouldn't budge and kept clinging to him.
Chen Shuo was so angry that the veins on his face bulged, and his whole body turned purple with rage: "What the hell do you want?!"
The boy gave a knowing smile: "I already told you what I wanted last night. You clearly know everything, so why do I have to say it again in front of so many people?"
Chen Shuo's expression turned unnatural: "I don't know what you're talking about."
“You must know.” The little boy’s face was almost touching his: “You were still calling me Little Fish in bed. You were fooling around with me all night, and you were still thinking about me when you left the next day.”
As more and more people gathered after class, Chen Shuo became even more anxious: "Who said that! Do you have any proof!"
Xiaoyu grinned and said, "I have evidence on my phone. Do you want to see it now? I not only took photos, but also recorded several videos."
"There's another part where you confessed your love to me in front of the camera and even kissed my tummy. Do you want to watch the video? Do you want me to help you remember?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Chen Shuo's face turned red and white instantly, looking strangely awful: "Don't talk nonsense!"
Fearing that Xiaoyu might say something else, he quickly added, "You want money, don't you? I'll give you as much as you want right now, don't try to smear me here!"
Given his personality, he wouldn't have admitted defeat or suffered a loss before; he would have fought to the bitter end. But now, before Xiaoyu has even released any so-called evidence, he has already "gone soft."
Those who knew him could tell that Chen Shuo was different this time, and even Lu Shangyan said, "It seems to be true."
Pei Yumin nodded: "He doesn't discriminate between men and women, and he even has the nerve to criticize you. At least you dare to admit it, but what about him? He just cowers like a coward!"
Lu Shangyan straightened his back and, no longer in a hurry to leave, stood at a distance watching Chen Shuo.
Little Fish said, "I don't want money. I've already said it: either you be my boyfriend, or you sleep with me again until I get tired of it."
Chen Shuo gritted his teeth: "I don't like men!"
Pei Yumin seized the opportunity to say, "You don't like men? If you don't like men, why are you holding them so tightly, calling them 'little vixen' and 'little fish'? Don't you feel ashamed when you say that?"
Chen Shuo seized the opportunity and immediately vented his anger on him: "Were you the one who was pulling strings behind my back!"
Pei Yumin said, "I don't have time to concern myself with your affairs."
Lu Shangyan also said, "When something happens, look for the cause within yourself first, and don't push the blame onto others!"
Pei Yumin raised his chin, looking smug and self-satisfied. Chen Shuo scoffed even more: "Who else could it be but you! You two are both gay, only you two could come up with this trick to target me!"
Pei Yumin stood in front of Lu Shangyan: "Stop slandering us. We do like men, but our values and character are fine. Unlike you, who would mock a dog on the street for not being as tall as you. People like you who look down on others are the ones who love to bully others with such underhanded methods!"
Chen Shuo wanted to retort, but Xiao Yu didn't give him the chance: "Young Master Chen, why don't you answer my question first? I'm in a hurry to leave."
Chen Shuo was so angry he could hardly contain himself: "You guys must have conspired together! I don't admit to this! You've slept with so many men, go find them, stop bothering me!"
Xiaoyu squinted her eyes: "Chen Shuo, there's no point in you saying that."
Pei Yumin finally found the crux of his words: "You admit it, you really slept with Xiaoyu."
Chen Shuo's pupils dilated as he belatedly realized what he had just said.
Xiaoyu looked at Pei Yumin, raised her eyebrows and said, "That's not all. The reason I remember him so clearly is because other men know how to give gifts, but he only thinks about getting something for free. He even runs away after sleeping with someone, and I even paid for his room. I've never seen such a stingy man before."
“I knew he had never slept with a man before, but when he was with me, he didn’t show any homophobia at all. I found it intriguing, so I couldn’t stop thinking about him. I even came to his house to see if he would stay so stingy.”
His smile was innocent and harmless, completely unlike the shrewd and cunning man who had climbed his way up from the ranks of the pleasure quarters: "That's all I have to say. So, Chen Shuo, you have to choose one of the two options I'm giving you today, or I'll keep chasing you."
