Chapter 1288: Stop Acting, My Lord, I Know It’s You

The frost froze the spider web and Cheng Shi stood there frozen.

However, he was no longer afraid of these things. He felt the biting cold all over his body and sneered:

"How cruel! Even after the clown died on the stage, the 'leader' behind the scenes still refused to tell the clown who he was performing for.

If you want to hide it from me so much, why do you expose yourself in such trivial details?

If you wanted to deceive me, why didn't you lie to the end and keep me completely in the dark? At least I would have no complaints when you were offered as a sacrifice!

But why did you have to let me know the truth halfway!

Why do you have to puncture this beautiful illusion and plunge me into a vortex of despair?

Is it just because of your bad taste, my Lord?

So you did it, and now the Joker hates you as much as he hates that disgusting fate!"

Cheng Shi stared at those starry eyes, his voice becoming deeper and colder. At this moment, at least in his tone, he began to approach [Destiny].

"Stop pretending, my Lord, I know it's you!"

That's right, Cheng Shi saw it. Although the [Fate] in front of him had no flaws, he still noticed the clues and determined that the [Fate] in front of him was not the real [Fate], but the instigator of this trial, [Fraud]!

You must know that since [Fraud] can trap [Fate] in laughter and ridicule, it will never allow [Fate] to have the energy to use its own power.

The scene of [Pride (Order)] being trapped in the [Chaos] temple is still vivid in his mind. With just a few mocking spikes, [Pride (Order)] can no longer use any of his divine power!

Then at such a critical moment, when He chose to confront Himself, how could He allow the breath of [Fate] to overflow wantonly, even affecting laughter and ridicule, or solidifying it, or making it boil?

Don't forget, laughter and ridicule are not the creation of [nothingness], they are the creation of [fraud], almost the private domain of [fraud]. In such a place, it is unreasonable that the trapped [fate] can still have such divine power.

Isn't he afraid that [Fate] will use this to break out of the cage and come to rescue him?

So there is only one answer, the person in front of you is not [Destiny] at all, He is [Fraud]!

The mastermind behind this incident once again played the role of his brother god and played a trick on himself with the greatest malice!

Just like this trial, He could have said nothing and taken me away directly, but He insisted on using a false story to metaphorically illustrate His actions, telling the clown that He came from outside the world and that He was coveting the established order of this world!

Cheng Shi was a little broken.

He wondered if despair was necessary to become a true sacrifice?

Those cold eyes remained silent and did not respond.

But not long after, the chill in the laughter and ridicule gradually faded, and the colorful colors became lively again. The corners of his eyes slightly raised, and his eyes regained their vividness. He said meaningfully to the believers in front of him:

"Hee~"

Cheng Shi swore that at this moment, he was extremely disgusted with this word.

"Is it funny?"

"Isn't it funny?"

“…”

"A lost mortal, begging for guidance, hastily came before the god he had blasphemed a thousand times. After praising him with all his might, he discovered that the god he met was not a savior who could save him from danger, but a demon that filled him with fear day and night.

The mortal was no match for the devil and was eventually devoured by it, ending his absurd life.

Isn’t this script wonderful?

Well, it seems like something is missing. Let's add a setting to this mortal:

His profession is a clown!

In this way, the character's fate and his identity are intertwined, which adds a touch of absurdist beauty, isn't it? "

Cheng Shi didn't hear a word he said. He stared at the pair of eyes that were full of laughter and asked word by word:

"Why?"

The spiral in his eyes spun around and around, and he sneered, "Why are there so many whys in this world?"

"Why?" Cheng Shi repeated with gritted teeth.

His eyes blinked quickly like stars and he smiled:

“Well, persistence is indeed the key to the end; it has pushed you to where you are now.

But that’s all I can do, because my script is finished.”

"Why?!" the clown roared angrily.

Seeing that distorted face and hearing that hoarse roar, he turned a deaf ear and continued to say:

"Looks like we need to give the Joker a 'repeater' feature!"

"Oh."

Cheng Shi laughed, a self-deprecating laugh, and continued to struggle. He pulled at the spider webs on his body and said like a madman:

“I understand.

The script is indeed over.”

As he spoke, he raised his hand and used the fully layered [Death] ring to blast himself with five bursts of thunder.

“Boom boom boom boom—”

In the blink of an eye, the spider web was reduced to ashes.

But the next second, the starry eyes blinked lightly, and restored the spider web from the burnt laughter and ridicule.

Cheng Shi is not dead, the one who died is...

"laugh--

Don't waste your energy. If I can let you die before the period I write, the script will have a bad ending.

No matter how many times you kill yourself, it is only your illusion that dies.

The moment you step into this place, your true self has already fallen asleep, and the spider webs that carry your consciousness are all illusions created by me.

It's useless, your only ending is to leave here with me."

“…Why? Why on earth?!”

Cheng Shi was in despair, and the spider web huddled into a ball, just as he curled up in a corner. He couldn't understand why he had to endure all this inexplicably, nor could he understand why his efforts were met with the regeneration of fear within the Fear Faction.
