Scorpio confessed that his thinking was very clear and simple.
When Cheng Shi disappeared and Gao Ya mixed into the crowd to spread rumors, Scorpio was wondering if he could speed up the progress of this trial.
After all, no one knew whether Cheng Shi’s plan would succeed, not to mention that there was a scavenger waiting outside who was eyeing him covetously.
So he thought of a way. At midnight, when a new day came, he used his ability of deduction to go to Dolgod's future!
His purpose was to find someone, someone who knew when the life that should not be born would be born!
Scorpio was thinking that since there was a life in Dolgod that shouldn't have been born, no matter whether this life was really born or not, things related to him must have caused a huge sensation in some version of the future. At least there would be some historical traces or people who knew the inside story.
So he decided to search for this person in countless futures, and then bring him back, and let him lead everyone to find the life that should not be born, protect that life in advance, and thus change the future.
This is a very simple idea, and it is also a common problem-solving idea used by some future assassins who possess special [time] deduction powers. However, in the early stages, under the leadership of Cheng Shi, Scorpio did not want to use this method because it would waste his chance to save his life.
But now, the remaining chance to save life may not necessarily save life, so it is better to use it directly and pass the level as soon as possible.
So he went to the future, and at the moment when thunder sounded in the city of Dolgod, he activated his talent and embarked on the journey of searching for people in the deduction.
Scorpio thought that this task of looking for a needle in a haystack might exhaust all his energy, and he even prepared for failure at the beginning. However, he never expected that he would be so lucky. After six deductions, he found a person who claimed to know about this matter in a future of Dolgod.
The other person's name was Avros, a homeless vagrant with scars all over his face and a hunched body. Apart from the fact that his clothes were relatively intact and his body odor was not bad, he had almost no advantages.
When Scorpio found him, he was chatting up a female citizen outside a tavern.
Surprisingly, the female citizen was not disgusted by Avros's ugly appearance, but instead had a great time chatting with him.
Scorpio was very sure that he was just curious and did not stop for a while because the female citizen was too charming. But it was this coincidence that made him hear something from Avros that seemed to be what he was looking for!
The tramp was seen leaning against the fence at the back door of the tavern, complimenting the female citizen in front of him with his leaky and hoarse voice, his turbid eyes filled with undisguised lust for her beauty and body.
"I have to thank the church for not driving people like me out of Dolgod. This gave me the opportunity to meet you, beautiful lady."
The female citizen drank some wine, and a blush appeared on her fair face. She stood gracefully and nodded slightly, revealing a charming smile, which melted Scorpio's... no, Avros' heart.
"I seem to see the most beautiful moon tonight." Avros praised shamelessly, making the female citizen tremble with joy. "I don't even know your name, Miss Moon."
"You are so sweet-mouthed, so you must have found a lot of moons for Dolgod, right? It's really strange, a person like you who has no status, will you really not be driven out of the city by the soldiers of the Church Guard?" The female citizen smiled softly with her hands covering her mouth. Her tone was full of ridicule, but there was no disgust at all. "Just call me Moon, I like this name."
Avros straightened his body for a rare moment and said mysteriously:
"Beautiful Miss Moon, I would never tell anyone this no matter who asks me. But you are different. You are so elegant and intelligent. I can see that you are different from those gossipy women in noble families. I believe you will not tell my secret to others, right?"
The female citizen's smile became more charming. She carefully looked at the homeless man in front of her, looked around and found that no one was eavesdropping around her. She nodded implicitly, but her bright eyes were shining with excitement.
Obviously, she was beginning to be interested in the man in front of her.
Avros curled the corners of his mouth, took a step forward, leaned close to Miss Moon's ear and whispered. His voice was already hoarse and low, and when his voice became even lower, no one around could hear what he said.
But these little tricks are useless to Scorpio, because he is an assassin, and an assassin with keen senses, so even if he stands far away, he can clearly hear what the homeless man said.
"I'm not really a vagabond. I was once a member of the church. I can even say that I maintained order in Dolgod before the church's guards were established."
Miss Moon covered her mouth in surprise and said in disbelief: "How is it possible?"
"Why not? Beautiful lady, you look very young. I guess you have never heard of the Inquisition. Of course, this institution may have been destroyed in a fire before you were born."
"I heard my father talk about that fire! Were you once a staff member there? I wonder if you are... so old?"
"Um... beautiful Miss Moon, age is just a number and has no meaning. What really matters is time. Generally speaking, the accumulation of time makes some people more attractive, isn't it?"
"Are you talking about yourself?" Miss Moon covered her mouth and chuckled.
"Obviously." Avros flipped his hair.
