Chapter 437: The Grand Marshal's Plan

...

In yesterday’s chapter, I found that many book friends were asking how Longjing discovered that “Cheng Shi” was not Cheng Shi. I had originally written this paragraph, but later deleted it because I felt it was too long-winded.

Before starting the main text today, let me explain Longjing’s thinking:

The logic behind this is that we must first look at this scam from the "Longjing perspective":

Background: "Cheng Shi" claimed that he had met [Destiny], and this statement was true. Afterwards, Long Jing saw through the identity of "Cheng Shi" and knew that he was not the real Cheng Shi.

From Longjing's perspective, the information revealed in this sentence can infer the following possibilities:

1. This is true in itself, so the master of deception would also say it is true, and this means that a non-chosen god of destiny has met with destiny. From Longjing's perspective, this possibility is extremely low, but it cannot be completely ruled out.

2. This statement was originally false, but the Cheat Master said it was true, so there is no doubt that the other party is definitely a liar with the Cheat Master card. However, "Cheng Shi" lied, which means that the other party is either Zhen Xin or has a Cheat Master card, but Zhen Yi is on the opposite side, so it is likely that the other party is a player with the Cheat Master card.

3. This statement needs to be separated into parts. The audience with the benefactor is true, and the word [fate] alone is also true. This undoubtedly shows that this person is Zhen Yi, because Long Jing has never seen the gods. As Long Jing is second on the [Fraud] list, the possibility of him being a liar is even lower. Therefore, it is more likely that "Cheng Shi" is Zhen Yi. However, the real "Zhen Yi" is on the opposite side, so we are back to situation 2. In addition, the anchor point that Long Jing believes that "Zhen Yi" is true is the tongue that eats lies.

Considering the attitudes of "Cheng Shi" and "Zhen Yi" in their secret confrontation, "Cheng Shi" and "Zhen Yi" are not on the same side. He deliberately told himself a lie obviously to pull himself into the game against "Zhen Yi", because if "Cheng Shi" had the advantage in this confrontation between the scammers, there would be no need to do this.

Therefore, "Cheng Shi" is a scam party who is at a disadvantage and needs external forces to come in and muddy the waters. If he dares to invite a scammer, he must have some "resonance" with the scammer, otherwise he will not be able to gain Longjing's trust and make Longjing willing to join the game. The most common and reasonable "resonance" that can be caused between two people who don't know each other's identities is... both are believers in [fraud] and both hate Zhen Yi.

Only when these two points exist at the same time, Longjing will feel that the other party has reason to expose the flaw to him, because the other party wants his help. The flaw here refers to the lies that "Cheng Shi" told before.

(Zhen Xin also took advantage of this. She took advantage of Long Jing's dislike for her sister to drag Long Jing into the game, but the real sister had already been driven away by her!)

So to sum up, Longjing judged that "Cheng Shi" was most likely also a liar, which ruled out the above situation 1 (the option where the audience with [Destiny] was true), and was more inclined to situation 2.

And in his opinion, Cheng Shi couldn't be a liar.

So he concluded that this man was a liar, not the real Cheng Shi.

(This paragraph does not count towards the main text, but I have met the word count requirement for today, so it is not just water writing.)

Main Text↓

...

Cheng Shi and "Cheng Shi" were shocked at the same time. Of course, Cheng Shi was real and "Cheng Shi" was pretending.

No wonder Zhen Xin said the word "convention", it turns out she wanted to bring up this matter!

[Destiny] Not even "the chosen one" was summoned, but an "unknown" destiny weaver was summoned. The shock of this incident may not be as great as the fall of a god, but it is closer to the players and more fun than other mysterious things.

So, she wanted to make herself famous among the top players to create more fun?

No, she is not Zhen Yi, so we cannot speculate based on Zhen Yi's personality.

Cheng Shi didn't have much contact with Zhen Xin, and the few words he knew about her came from Big Cat. He could only confirm that Zhen Xin was slightly more reliable than Zhen Yi, but he couldn't confirm to what extent the other party was reliable.

So what does she want to do?

Transfer the pressure of [fate] to yourself, thereby freeing up the attention from the blind man?

Or is she simply seeking revenge for having betrayed her sister?

Okay, okay, no matter what you want to do, I think you don’t want to use your lying tongue anymore.

At this point, Cheng Shi is not too worried about Zhen Xin putting halos on him, because the halos she puts on him are real, so even if he restores his identity, he can still accept it.

And in Long Jing's eyes, "Cheng Shi" is definitely not the real Cheng Shi. If he can wait until he makes this matter public, then he can also "escape" and get rid of all this pressure.

But to be honest, for Cheng Shi at the moment, it is better not to take off the pressure of having met the gods.

After this "battle", he knew that he would no longer be able to remain anonymous in the circle of top players, and he would definitely become one of the most explosive "news" recently, and then be followed, contacted and studied by hundreds of top players.

At this time, the more halos he carries, the more mysterious his personality will be, and the more fearful other top players will be.

But fear is often accompanied by covetousness, which is the core of the peak ecology of pursuing ultimate power and attempting to get their attention, and Cheng Shi cannot avoid it.

When you are a little mysterious, other people will notice you and keep their distance from you.

But when you are ten points mysterious, under the temptation of extreme curiosity, others may not be so willing to keep a distance from you. They will only want to catch you and strip off your mysterious cloak.
