Chapter 1427... Reunion, Farewell
Cheng Shi first realized something was wrong when he saw the sick old man that Lao Jia had encountered in front of a casino.
It seems reasonable for people suffering from illness to sympathize with each other, but at that moment, he suddenly remembered the childhood experiences that Nangong had told him, and he was stunned, frozen on the spot as if struck by lightning.
For the first time in his memory, he left Lao Jia behind, wandered into that alley, and then saw Xiao Nangong huddled in the alley waiting for his grandfather to return.
Cheng Shi recognized the other party at a glance, only then belatedly realizing that the uncle who helped Nangong's father win the casino was actually Lao Jia!
From this moment on, memories become extraordinary.
Not long after, he saw the same leather jacket that Li Wufang had worn on Lao Jia.
A leather jacket might not evoke many memories, but when Lao Jia appeared in front of the young and naive Tao Yi wearing this leather jacket... Cheng Shi knew that all of this was no coincidence.
Especially when the old man left in the rain, he casually uttered that sentence:
"Go and repay my son."
Cheng Shi stood on the street, his face filled with astonishment, almost blending into the torrential rain.
Old Jia didn't have a son at the time, so this was at most a joke, but... was it really a joke?
If Cheng Shi had no other thoughts, perhaps so, but at this moment Cheng Shi felt that this memory was strange in every way, so he did not think it was a joke. The so-called repayment did not seem to be for any repayment, and the words did not seem to be said to Tao Yi.
But apart from Lao Jia, Aunt Sun, and Tao Yi, there were very few passersby at the scene. Who would he be talking to?
It can't be...
At that moment, Cheng Shi clenched his fist, and some guesses flashed through his mind.
As he expected, Lao Jia encountered Li Wufang again while traveling between cities.
Although it was a chance encounter, Lao Jia's movements that day were actually a bit strange.
The small square where Li Wufang was located was in the east, while Lao Jia was originally walking in the north. However, when he was crossing the road, the red light at the intersection was broken, and the countdown was stuck at 99 seconds. Impatient, Lao Jia changed his mind and walked towards the small square in the east.
He walked to the newsstand and saw Xiao Li Wufang in the pond. Listening to the newsstand owner tell the boy's story, he felt sorry for him and casually called over a passerby who was also reading a newspaper next to the newsstand. He then put on a show with the passerby.
Ironically, after giving away some money, Old Jia stopped caring about the reactions of passersby and wasn't afraid they would just take the money and leave. It was as if as long as he performed an act of kindness, he didn't care where things ended up afterward...
Fortunately, the passerby was very orderly. Having unexpectedly received a windfall, he only wanted to play his part well so that he could keep the money safe.
And so, Xiao Li Wufang saw the leather jacket that he would never forget for the rest of his life.
That year was also the year Lao Jia "retired from the business." He originally did not intend to leave the industry, but his health did not allow him to continue.
In a high-stakes gambling game, Old Jia, who was about to win everything, lost his hand due to severe pain and was caught red-handed. Only then did people realize that the so-called gambling king was not a gambling king at all, but a cheating king!
As expected, Lao Jia was cornered in the casino and nearly beaten to death. It was Sun Yuying who rushed into the crowd with all of Lao Jia's assets and begged several familiar business owners to save Lao Jia's life.
But from then on, there was no longer a place for Old Jia in the casino.
"Those who deceive others will always be deceived in return, and those who engage in fraud never have a good end."
Disheartened, Lao Jia finally realized he had gone astray. He left the south, dragging his injuries and illnesses, and disappeared without a trace.
And so, the story of "The King of Gamblers" came to an end, and the South was no longer home to a legend called Lao Jia. But Xiao Chengshi found his own luck in the orphanage.
When Cheng Shi stood outside the orphanage with Lao Jia and looked at "himself," he was reunited with his father.
It turned out that the old man had been eyeing him for a long time.
They have a good eye.
Cheng Shi laughed and cried at the same time. Once again, she watched this old man, who was good at pretending and acting, trick her into saying the name "Cheng Jia" in the adoption room. She wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes and strode away.
That's enough, it's time to say goodbye.
No matter who he is or what his name is, all I know is that he is my father, his name is Cheng Jia, and my name is Cheng Shi.
Cheng is Cheng Jia's Cheng, and Shi is honest Shi.
Cheng Shi strode out of the land of memories. He was now fairly certain that there was something wrong with Lao Jia's memories, but he knew that the Dragon King couldn't erase these memories. So, it seemed that the only things that could tamper with these memories were [memories] and... [deception]?
Since [memories], which have always abhorred smearing, probably wouldn't do that, after thinking it over, it must be [deception].
From the people Lao Jia has met, it can be seen that they are all friends who were pushed into his life by fate.
And fraud is fate.
Furthermore, along the way, with Cheng Shi's keen sense of various hidden clues, he discovered that these friends had inherited a divine throne that was not close to the will of [deception]. At least in the course of past eras, they had not always stood on the side of [deception].
Decay, order, prosperity...
Could it be a coincidence?
Probably not. It seems more like a backup plan by someone. Could it be that they are using this to gain more support and voting power through fraud?
The problem is that while [fraud] was present, these voting rights were not close to Him; they only came into being after He left...
