[Author's Closing Remarks]

It's finished!

The story of "The Fool's Play," which began on February 21, 2024, has finally come to an end after 694 days of continuous reading...

I have many feelings. When I was writing the fourth volume, I had already started to imagine how I should write a very moving epilogue after it was finished. But now that I'm actually here, I don't know what to say.

It's strange, how can I describe this amazing experience? Perhaps I, who was playing a game two years ago and suddenly had an idea, would never have imagined that this story would be loved by so many friends today.

Happiness, excitement, unease, fear, anxiety, gritting my teeth and persevering, and finally, a sigh of relief—these are all the emotions I experienced while writing this book.

Now, all that's left is gratitude.

I am grateful to all the friends who have supported "Foolish Play", to all the friends who have liked "Foolish Play", to all the friends who have been tolerant of "Foolish Play", and to all the friends who have been following "Foolish Play". It is your encouragement that has pushed me to write until now and bring this story to a close.

I apologize in advance for not being able to satisfy all readers with this ending, but this ending was decided at the very beginning of the book. All the foreshadowing, metaphors, and clues point to this. From its inception, "The Fool" has been more than just a comedy, and the tone established by the clown is unlikely to be eternally joyful.

The book basically conveys what I wanted to say. Every era has its "Cheng Shi" who are forced to move forward, but every "Cheng Shi" chooses to be themselves on the road that is being pushed forward. I also hope that everyone can be themselves, and even if the road ahead is uncertain, still move forward firmly.

I thought the fake ending would give everyone a heads-up, but it turns out the warning was given, but the effect was a bit off; some friends still feel the ending was fake too...

Yes, it must be a problem of fraud.

In any case, the story of this era has come to an end. Friends who have the time and interest may wish to go back and reread it. I think the experience of reading it a second time should be completely different from the first time. When you see the various metaphors and foreshadowings interspersed in different dialogues, narratives, and revelations corresponding to the known ending, you probably will no longer have the feeling of disliking the riddle-maker that you had when you read it for the first time.

I believe "The Fool" is a story worth reading twice. Of course, I must admit that the logic in the story is not 100% perfect, but that does not affect the reading experience. Just enjoy the fun and laughter in the comments. I also ask that you not spoil too much in the comments of the earlier paragraphs, so as to leave some surprises for new friends.

Also, since you've read this far, shouldn't you give it a good review, friends!

Okay, enough rambling, let's stop here.

The extra episodes during the campaign period will be added as soon as possible. Updates will be irregular after the series ends, and it shouldn't be delayed for too long. Other extra episodes (or follow-ups) will depend on my inspiration and laziness.

I'll take a break after the side story ends, and then I'll come back to write a new book. My brain is completely drained, and I desperately need new additions and accumulations. The theme of the new book is uncertain; it might still be a fantasy story set in an urban environment, but what I can say for sure is that it will be an ensemble piece. I love ensemble pieces.

The world does not belong to one person alone, and "The Fool's Play" also belongs to everyone.

Last but not least, remember to participate in the final event; there will be behind-the-scenes bonus content (filling in the gaps)!

That's all for now, everyone. See you in the new book!
