Chapter 14

Chapter 14

Zheng Juyong finally woke up near noon. When he opened the bedroom door with a dizzy head, he met Jiawei's bored and empty eyes as she sat cross-legged on the yoga mat at the door.

"Oh!" He was startled, "Jia, Sister Jiawei, why are you here?" After living here for a few days, he has already regarded himself as the master of this place.

The living room had already been cleaned, and a bowl of whole grain porridge was still left on the coffee table.

"Thanks to you, Brother Juyong!" Jiawei closed her eyes, took a deep breath, slowly bent forward, and threw her hands forward at the same time, doing a standard "King Kong pose".

"This, this, I can't handle." Guan Ying's punches and kicks weren't always effective against him, but Jia Wei never resorted to violence; a few words were enough to render him helpless. Zheng Juyong didn't dare to waste a second, immediately kneeling on the ground, clasping his hands, and bowing to Jia Wei.

Guan Ying was in the kitchen sorting out the ingredients she had brought back from China. When she heard the noise, she came out to check. "Wow! Such a big gift?"

Jiawei exhaled a long breath from her chest, slowly turned around, stretched and twisted left and right a few times: "Stand up, I'm glad my brother is okay."

"When did he become your brother?" Guan Ying helped Zheng Juyong get up. "If you don't wake up, I'll be worried. How are you? Are you okay now?"

Zheng Juyong saw her dressed for going out and shook his head. "Aside from a little bloating and pain, nothing's wrong. What's going on?"

"I told him he was fine. He's been snoring all morning. I've been listening outside the door." Jiawei rolled up her yoga mat and tucked it into the back corner of the sofa. She waved to Zheng Juyong, "Come over and eat quickly! Hurry!"

Under the gaze of the two of them, Zheng Juyong drank the porridge awkwardly and quickly. He finally regained some of his consciousness and remembered that Guan Ying was going to take Jiawei out to play today.

Jiawei eagerly took the empty bowl, trotted it over to the kitchen sink, rinsed it a few times, and then ran out, dragging Guan Ying out the door. "Hurry, hurry, hurry, let's go now. We can just make it to my appointment at Hermes. I might not be able to get the Kelly 25 Golden Brown even in China. Hurry!"

Guan Ying, however, retreated before leaving. "Jiawei, I'm still a little worried. He doesn't seem to remember that we were going out today. Could there be some blood clot stuck in his brain? I looked it up online, and people say you should be careful after a head injury. How about asking Xiao Weiyan to accompany you? I've already informed him, and he happens to be off this afternoon."

Unexpectedly, Guan Ying would actually leave her boyfriend and bestie behind to take care of herself. However, letting Jia Wei and Xiao Weiyan be together made him feel uneasy for Guan Ying. Zheng Juyong scratched the back of his head and said, "If you're worried, take me with you. I can also buy some gifts for Qiao Qi."

Jiawei waved her finger at Zheng Juyong, who was sitting dazed on the sofa at the door. "Hey, look, he still remembers his Qiao Qi. Are you still worried about him having blood clots?"

Guan Ying was hesitant.

Jiawei simply took charge, retreated to the room, and urged Zheng Juyong: "Are you not washing up yet? Hurry up, don't waste our sisters' time!"

......

When they met in the parking garage under a high-end office building in Dubai, Xiao Weiyan leaned against the blue convertible Ferrari he had borrowed, looking very energetic: "I didn't expect that you, Ju Yong, are here too."

Zheng Juyong sat in the back seat of the pickup truck and nodded politely to him without saying a word.

Guan Ying greeted him with a smile: "Ju Yong has a severe headache, I really don't feel comfortable leaving him alone in the dormitory."

Xiao Weiyan: "Is it serious? Do you want to get checked here? I know a good Chinese doctor."

Guan Ying was actually moved: "Really? That would be great."

Why did she have to trouble Xiao Weiyan for everything? Zheng Juyong stuck his head out of the back window and yelled at Guan Ying outside the car: "No need, I said I'm fine!"

The other three were stunned by his sudden shout.

He controlled his voice and said, "Well, Sister Jiawei has been waiting for a long time... Anyway, Sister Jiawei is the boss today!"

Jiawei, who was sitting in the passenger seat, was flattered by his sudden mention of this and wanted to hide in the gap of the car: "Uh, thank you."

Xiao Weiyan smiled awkwardly: "Haha, then, do you want to exchange my car first? I've already borrowed it."

Guan Ying didn't care what kind of car it was, but thinking that Zheng Juyong was very interested in sports cars, she took the lead and got into the Ferrari, and Jiawei followed closely behind.

Zheng Juyong also got out of the car, but moved from the back seat of the pickup truck to the front driver's seat: "I have a headache, so I don't feel comfortable with the open top. I'll follow you from behind."

Xiao Weiyan also knew that his aura didn't match his, so he didn't force it: "Okay then, let's go to Dubai Mall first. There are a lot of tourists and parking spaces are tight, so you follow closely."

Zheng Juyong yawned, put on his sunglasses, and suddenly pulled the steering wheel in his hand. At Xiao Weiyan's speed, how could he not keep up? What a joke!

However, he hadn't anticipated the complicated traffic lights and road conditions from the city center to Dubai Mall. Although Xiao Weiyan wasn't driving fast, he was familiar with the road and quickly distanced himself from his pickup truck after many turns.

"Hehe, Xiao Weiyan, I knew you were competing with me!" Zheng Juyong believed this since they first met at the airport.

Without noticing, Xiao Weiyan changed lanes and turned around at the traffic light, but he had already driven onto the solid line in the outer lane, so he could only continue driving forward and find another opportunity to turn around.

Zheng Juyong was so angry that he slapped the steering wheel: "Ha! Xiao Weiyan, you have no martial ethics! You know the law but you still break it!"

After passing the traffic light, I soon received a call from Guan Ying: "Where are you? We just realized we took the wrong road, and we had to turn around to make it to our appointment at the Hermes store. Did you lose us?"

"I saw it!" He was so angry that he thought Guan Ying must have been playing loudly, so he just wanted to beat them all to death. "You guys actually broke traffic rules just for a bag? I can't do that. Besides, I'm a foreigner here, not a lawyer. How dare I follow you? Should I go crazy like you?"

If he didn't have a clear mind and really followed Xiao Weiyan, that would be stupid.

There was silence for a moment, and Guan Ying said awkwardly, "We regret it too. We acted impulsively just now... So, what are you going to do?"

"What should I do? It's just the Hermes in Dubai Mall. Are you afraid of not being able to find the way with a cell phone? Maybe I'll get there before you!" Zheng Juyong hung up the phone angrily.

After that, Guan Ying never called again.

When he stood in front of the Hermes store, he was still late. Guan Ying and Jia Wei had already entered the store, and only Xiao Weiyan was left outside waiting for him.

Xiao Weiyan handed over a bottle of mineral water given by the Hermes clerk: "Juyong, it's a good thing that you didn't change lanes after me, otherwise it would be really troublesome. I'm really scared." Even at this time, Xiao Weiyan could still say such words.

Zheng Juyong unscrewed the bottle cap and drank it all in one gulp. Since the women were not around, he didn't intend to save face for them. "Oh, I have a headache, but I'm not stupid."

Xiao Weiyan smiled and took out a box of Marlboro cigarettes: "Yes, haha. There's a smoking area over there, would you like a cigarette?"

"Sorry, I don't smoke." He refused flatly, making it difficult for Xiao Weiyan to show his affection again. However, the two men were standing stupidly next to the line of tourists outside the Hermès, and the situation was indeed a bit awkward. "I don't smoke, but I don't mind others smoking. Let's go."

There are already quite a few smokers in the smoking area, most of whom are "deposited" here by women. They are guarding large and small shopping bags in their hands and feet, and there are also many Chinese compatriots among them.

Xiao Weiyan found a corner, silently lit a cigarette, and took a deep puff as if to satisfy his addiction: "Haha, it's rare. In fact, smoking too early is not good for you young people." As he spoke, smoke erupted with his mouth and nose.

Zheng Juyong squinted his eyes, dodged to the side, and finally squeezed into a corner, finding a small quiet place. "Smoking is not good for the elderly. Besides, Marlboro is too coarse and hard. Most Chinese people don't like it. Huazi is fine."

"Haha, you don't smoke, how do you know this?"

"I may not have eaten pork, but I have seen pigs run." Zheng Juyong narrowed his eyes and gave a sly smile that was easy to understand.

Xiao Weiyan paused, not arguing with him, smiled lightly back, lowered his head and took another sip: "You seem to dislike me very much."

Zheng Juyong crossed his arms. "You don't like me either, do you? Besides, we're two grown men, and talking about whether we like each other or not here, don't you think it's hypocritical?"

"Haha, a little." Xiao Weiyan pinched the cigarette in one hand, shook the ash into the barrel beside him, and changed the subject. "Actually, Marlboro wasn't difficult to smoke at first. It used to be a women's cigarette, but it didn't sell well and eventually went bankrupt for a while. Have you heard of Leo Burnett? He's a very famous American advertising man. It was he who later changed the marketing strategy and positioned Marlboro as a masculine image of a western cowboy, which is why the taste has become so rough. By the way, I heard you're interested in F1? Schumacher won five consecutive championships in the millennium. If you flip through any photo of him, you'll see Marlboro printed all over his clothes. So there are still many smokers of Marlboro, but it's not common in China."

The lawyer's mouth was full of different things to say to everyone he met. He could talk about anything from the far north to the south, and even Zheng Juyong listened to him: "Xiao Lu has studied a lot."

Xiao Weiyan quickly finished a cigarette and stubbed it out: "Haha, as long as it's something I'll use for the rest of my life, I never choose it casually."

The air was filled with smoke, and as their eyes met, they were both certain that the other was not friendly.

Zheng Juyong turned his head and looked at the store entrance. He didn't know how long they had been shopping inside. Why would they stay so long to buy a bag they had already set their eyes on? He really didn't get along with the person in front of him.

But Xiao Weiyan suddenly came straight to the point at this time: "Take care of her. She cares about you more than I thought. And you are not as innocent as I thought before."

Zheng Juyong's heart beat faster for no apparent reason, as if he had just done something bad in secret and was caught by someone.

Xiao Weiyan took a step forward, with a hint of offense: "As her boyfriend, I think I need to know, are you really not feeling well, or are you deliberately making up an excuse to stay?"

At this moment, he was just like a suspect being sued and questioned by the opposing lawyer in court. He had already lost his composure and was no match for Xiao Weiyan in the verbal battle.

Fortunately, the other party's phone suddenly rang. It was Guan Ying calling: "We're checking out, but we still need to provide past consumption records. Only when we meet the requirements can we allocate goods. I remember that yours should be enough. Would you like to come in and help Jiawei in your name? Also, have you received the call?"

She didn't expect him to arrive so soon.

"Okay, I'll go right away."

Zheng Juyong was lucky enough to get a chance to adjourn the court temporarily.

Before turning to leave, Xiao Weiyan stuffed a Marlboro into the breast pocket of his polo shirt. "Juyong, one of the meanings of the name Marlboro is that men always remember love because of romance only. As someone who has experienced this, I should remind you not to be blinded by short-lived romance."

Watching him leave, Zheng Juyong brought the cigarette to his nose and sniffed it. The smell was overwhelming. Fortunately, Xiao Weiyan was not a cowboy, so he had no intention of using force to deal with him for the time being.
