Song Yaozhu's face turned as red as the setting sun, and she didn't even dare to look Xie Liwei in the eye.
Enraged, she retorted, "How are you so skilled? Have you fooled many women this way?"
As soon as she asked the question, Song Yaozhu couldn't help but regret it. She was just an ordinary person in this mortal world, and naturally she minded her lover's ex.
Xie Liwei seemed to be deep in thought, and before she could get really angry, he said, "If the princess really lost her virginity to me, then I guess I've successfully deceived one of them!"
Song Yaozhu snorted and shared a long kiss with Xie Liwei.
Before coming to the pleasure boat, she hadn't imagined what tonight would be like. But now, she suddenly let go of her inner turmoil and followed her heart.
At first, Xie Liwei was quite restrained, but after Song Yaozhu touched his belt, he became as uncontrollable as a horse that had broken free of its reins or an eagle that had been released from its cage.
The outer robe fell onto the deck and was trampled by Song Yaozhu's ten fingers. The painted boat swayed with the waves on the lake. The sun set and night fell. Time seemed to slow down and become anxious.
Suddenly, the stars became dazzling, and the moonlight spilled onto the lake, making the painted boats shimmer and sparkle, a truly beautiful sight.
Song Yaozhu rubbed Xie Liwei's head, her fingertips gently touching the bite mark on his earlobe, a mark left when she was in pain.
"Mr. Ji's storybooks are so well-written, haven't you ever really appreciated them? And Mr. Lan's fire-avoidance diagrams, there are so many of them... um!"
Before Song Yaozhu could finish speaking, Xie Liwei silenced her with his large hand. Half embarrassed and annoyed, he said, "It seems that Your Highness is well-versed in this matter. I still need Your Highness to teach me properly."
Song Yaozhu blinked at him, then opened her mouth and licked his palm. Xie Liwei immediately felt an invisible fire burning the damp spot on his palm.
"The princess is truly..."
Before he could finish speaking, Song Yaozhu pecked him a few times on the lips, "When we get back, I'll ask Mr. Lan for a few more of his illustrated books. We can try them out slowly, learning little by little..."
The rest of her words were swallowed up by the wind on the lake. Xie Liwei pulled her into a tight embrace, as if he wanted to crush her to pieces.
As midnight approached, Song Yaozhu, half-asleep, realized she was alone. Looking around, she discovered that Xie Liwei had somehow carried her into the pleasure boat.
Her clothes were disheveled, and she wasn't wearing any underwear, presumably because Xie Liwei didn't know how to help her put them on.
She stepped out of the cabin barefoot and saw Xie Liwei standing on the deck, gazing down at the sea, as if looking into an abyss.
Hearing the noise, Xie Liwei turned to look at her. Seeing her clothes wide open and her long hair loose, his Adam's apple bobbed.
He picked up a robe from the deck and wrapped it around her, whispering in her ear, "There's someone underwater."
Song Yaozhu immediately blushed, "When did you arrive?"
Will someone overhear us?
"The noise I heard at the end of Hai hour has lasted for no more than the time it takes for an incense stick to burn."
Song Yaozhu breathed a sigh of relief. "Does this mean they're going to drill through this pleasure boat and kill us both in the middle of the lake?"
"Very likely."
This lake is vast; even someone who can swim might not be able to cross it entirely. It seems the assassin came from the pavilion in the middle of the lake within the long corridor.
"Gao Ping really isn't giving us a way out." Saying this, she stood on tiptoe and pecked Xie Liwei's chin, her voice pitiful, "Your Highness, please protect me! I'm so scared~"
Xie Liwei: "......"
He wanted to tell her to "be normal," but he also found the princess's occasional coquettishness quite adorable. So, he respectfully complied and lifted her up by her hips. Song Yaozhu was so frightened that she clung tightly to his waist with her legs.
"What are you doing!" she exclaimed.
"What can I do? I'm no good enough. I can only die under the peony and be a romantic ghost."
Song Yaozhu's chest ached from his kisses; his palms were so hot, they felt like they were melting her skin.
"Well, it seems I can only meet Your Highness again at Wushan," she said with considerable regret.
Xie Liwei couldn't help but laugh out loud and carried her down from the cabin.
It was dark inside, but that made it easier to hear what was happening underwater.
A very soft sound echoed in the cabin; it was the sound of something grinding against the hull.
It takes time for the lake water to slowly submerge the entire pleasure boat. Did the assassin intend for the two of them to drown in their sleep?
But this is too low-level; they'll probably have more tricks up their sleeve.
"Wouldn't it be easier to just get on the ship, drug us, and then stab it?"
Xie Liwei didn't tell her that before she woke up, he had already killed an overconfident assassin.
"Maybe he's not thinking straight."
"So what do we do now? Wait for them to make a hole, and then we plug it up?"
"There's no need to work so hard."
Xie Liwei pulled a signal flare from the sleeve of his outer robe. "Want to set off some fireworks?"
"What a fuss." After saying that, she looked around. "Where's the harpoon you used tonight?"
Xie Liwei frowned as he looked at her, as if he understood why Yongle sometimes scolded her for being vicious.
He didn't think Song Yaozhu was vicious, he just thought the way she died was a bit ugly.
"How about we set off some fireworks?"
Song Yaozhu looked at him resentfully, making him feel guilty. He quickly said, "I'll go find you a harpoon."
By the time Xie Liwei brought the harpoon to the deck, Song Yaozhu had already turned on all the lights on the pleasure boat. She was holding her small purse and pouring its contents into the lake.
"What are you pouring?"
"Oh, I asked Caijin to prepare the sleeping potion and lime powder for me." With so much water, I don't know if the sleeping potion will still work.
Xie Liwei: "......"
His queen is quite fierce.
Perhaps the underwater people were roused by her words, for the calm lake surface instantly became turbulent. The assassin who broke out of the water climbed up the ship's side, but before he could even reach the gunwale, Xie Liwei's harpoon had already fallen.
The sound of a "plop" echoed as the water fell, splashing up a spray of water.
Song Yaozhu took several steps back, afraid of getting wet from the splashing water.
But as soon as she stood up, she saw that more than a dozen people had already climbed onto the painted boat.
"This is terrible!" She quickly wrapped Xie Liwei's outer robe tightly around her and gripped the dagger tightly in her hand.
"The one who can kill you hasn't appeared yet!" Xie Liwei pushed her into the cabin and prepared to fight with a harpoon.
Before the assassins came up, they lay on the painted boat, breathing through the reeds, and inevitably swallowed some lake water while lying in ambush.
Two of them, perhaps due to the effects of the drug, rushed towards Xie Liwei, their legs trembling uncontrollably, and they flew straight off the deck, landing with a "plop" in the lake.
Assassins split up and rushed into the pleasure boat. Xie Liwei's eyes flashed with murderous intent. With a forceful movement, he broke off the spearhead of the harpoon and threw it at the assassin. The assassin was stabbed and fell down, but another one had already rushed into the cabin.
A moment later, Song Yaozhu roared in fury, "You dare touch my leg! Die!"
Xie Liwei crushed the half-bamboo pole in his hand!
They all deserve to die!
