Border military camps
Murong Jinyi's injuries have almost healed. Whenever she feels a little better, she goes to seek revenge on Gu Nanji, but she always fails.
That day, Murong Jinyi came to Gu Nanji again and threatened to fight him to the death in Shariwo.
Gu Nanji readily agreed, and the two of them came to Shaliwo and stood facing each other.

"Haven't you learned it? All's fair in war!" Murong Jin said breathlessly.
Gu Nanji couldn't help but shake his head and smile bitterly. This girl was really cunning. Just as he was about to speak, he heard a group of wolves howling.
When they looked carefully, they found that there were wolves on all sides, a group of hungry wolves, skinny and with fierce eyes. They gradually formed a circle and surrounded the two of them.
The two men quickly stood up, Gu Nanji and Murong Jinyi standing back to back, watching the wolves around them warily. These wolves were so thin that their ribs could be seen, their fangs were sharp, and their green eyes flashed with a fierce light.
"It seems we are in big trouble." Murong Jinyi said in a low voice.
"Well, you picked a good place." Gu Nanji was still praising Murong Jinyi at this time.
Murong Jinyi snorted coldly, "Don't be so sarcastic. I didn't bring this upon myself. I want revenge, and I will do it openly and honestly!"
"Be careful!" Gu Nanji warned.
Before he could finish his words, a gray wolf pounced on them. Gu Nanji swung his halberd, blocking the wolf's attack. Murong Jinyi took the opportunity to swing his knife at the wolf's abdomen. The wolf screamed and fell to the ground.
Seeing this, the other wolves pounced even more fiercely. Gu Nanji and Murong Jinyi worked in perfect harmony, killing the enemies while slowly retreating.
But the wolves were too numerous and they gradually felt overwhelmed. At this moment, Gu Nanji discovered a big tree not far away and came up with an idea.
"Murong, climb the tree." Gu Nanji said.
Murong Jinyi nodded, and the two of them quickly killed the wolves and headed towards the tree. The wolves were chasing closely behind them, and the two of them climbed up the tree in no time. However, since the wolves couldn't climb trees, they could only howl at the bottom of the tree.
Gu Nanji and Murong Jinyi were finally safe for the time being. They sat on the branches, breathing heavily.
"I don't think these wolves will leave for a while. We have to stay here for a while." Gu Nanji glanced at the wolves wandering below, who were baring their teeth and trying to bite them.
Murong Jinyi felt a little awkward, as the two of them had never been so close before.
"Are you okay with your injury?" Gu Nanji spoke first, breaking the silence.
"It's just a minor injury, nothing serious." Murong Jinyi said stubbornly.
"That's good." Gu Nanji smiled with relief.
The atmosphere suddenly became awkward, and neither of them knew what to say.
"Um...thank you for saving me just now." Murong Jinyi blushed and lowered her head.
"You're welcome. It's my duty." Gu Nanji scratched his head.
"You... why did you agree to duel with me? You could have refused." Murong Jinyi asked with courage.
"If you refuse me once, you will refuse me countless times. There is nothing important in the military camp anyway, so I might as well come out and compete with you." Gu Nanji sighed helplessly.
A ripple appeared in Murong Jinyi's heart, and she suddenly felt that this general who always had a stern face also had a very interesting side.

"I didn't expect them to be so smart~" Gu Nanji squinted his eyes and took a look. After making sure that he could not reach it, he relaxed and lay down.
"Wolves are the overlords of the grassland. No one dares to provoke them easily. Moreover, they are a very united species that will fight to the death." Murong Jinyi said.
Gu Nanji sat up and looked into the distance thoughtfully, "If we can tame them, they might be a great help."
Murong Jinyi looked at him in surprise. "Are you crazy? These are wild wolves. How can they be tamed?"
Gu Nanji smiled faintly. "Nothing is difficult in this world if one sets his mind to it. There will always be a way." He remembered a book he had read about animal taming and came up with some plans. "Let's rest first and think of a solution when the sun comes up."
Murong Jinyi leaned against the tree and closed her eyes. Gu Nanji looked at her tired face and felt a surge of pity. He gently reached out and brushed the fallen leaves from her hair. Murong Jinyi was not asleep. Feeling his gesture, her cheeks flushed and her heartbeat quickened.
In this dangerous night, two hearts gradually draw closer...
Murong Jinyi was pretending to be asleep, but the heavy breathing behind her betrayed her that she was really asleep.
Gu Nanji sat in a tree, his mind racing. He recalled the contents of that tattered book on animal taming, every page filled with mystery and wisdom. He had flipped through it countless times, trying to find the secret to taming the beasts.
