In the early morning, the sunlight shone through the hole in the roof onto Yiyami's face. Yiyami squinted his eyes, relaxed for a moment, and reached out to grope on the bed. After groping for a long time, he remembered that this was no longer modern times, but ancient times.
"Oh! My phone! My drama! I haven't finished watching so many good dramas yet!"
Yi Yami stayed in bed for a while, and heard the sound of He Huaizhu watering plants outside the house.
"Xiaomai, don't go to your sister's room. Why are you disturbing her? She has nothing to do when she gets up." He Huaizhu called out to Yi Xiaomai who was about to step into Yi Yami's room.
"My sister told me yesterday to get up this morning and wake her up." Yi Xiaomai blinked her big eyes and looked at He Huaizhu.
"Since she said so, then you go and call her." After hearing this, He Huaizhu continued to water his vegetable garden.
"Sister! Get up!" Yi Xiaomai came in shouting.
"Shh, be quiet, Xiaomai." Yiyami made a hushing gesture to him.
Yi Xiaomai closed her mouth, then thought for a moment and said, "Sister, didn't you say you would take me to town to buy things today?"
"Yeah! Wait for me, I'll come right after I wash up." Yiyami sat up with a somersault.
I quickly walked to the water tank outside the kitchen, scooped a bowl of water, and then suddenly remembered that I didn’t seem to have a toothbrush.
"Brother, how do we brush our teeth?" Yi Yami looked at Yi Xiaomai for help.
"Brush? Brush your teeth?" Yi Xiaomai tried to understand what Yi Yami said. Then, with a quick glance, she broke off a few willow branches from the nearby willow tree and handed them to Yi Yami. "Sister, use this."
"Huh?" Yi Yami's eyes widened.
"We usually use salt, but grandma said that the family is in financial trouble now, so we have to use the little salt we have sparingly, so she asked us to chew willow branches instead of rinsing our mouths. Sister, you try it, it's the same." Yi Xiaomai explained.
"Okay." Yi Yami closed her eyes and rinsed the willow branch with water. This was her last bit of dignity. Then she stuffed it into her mouth, imagined herself as a camel, and began to chew.
When you first chew it, you feel the fibrous texture of the willow branch, which is a bit rough and tough. As you chew, you will hear a slight crunching sound, which is the sound of the willow branch fibers being bitten off.
Continue chewing and you will gradually feel the juice of the willow branches. The willow branches broken by Yimai are fresh, and the juice will have some light sweetness and grass fragrance, but the taste is usually not very strong.
(However, if the willow branches are not fresh or have been dried, the texture may become rougher and harder to chew, and may even have a somewhat bitter taste.
Warm reminder: It's important to note that willow branches aren't a common food, and some may contain harmful substances, so chewing them as food is not recommended. Furthermore, to ensure good health, we should choose appropriate and safe foods to satisfy our appetites. Children, and adults too, please don't imitate this!
Yiyami took a sip of water, which swirled around in his mouth, making a few gurgling sounds before he spit it out.
She is still not used to this way of rinsing her mouth. She will have to find a way to get a toothbrush and toothpaste in the future, otherwise it will be too uncomfortable.
Yi Yami got up late, drank the clear brown rice soup, said something to He Huaizhu, and then took the money and Yi Xiaomai to find Uncle Ma, the village ox cart driver.
The two men gave the money and Uncle Ma drove them to town.
Luguang Town is a small town located southwest of Yinwei State. You might say it's small, but it's not. It's well-connected and serves as the only way from the border to the Central Plains and the northern regions.
During wartime, this place is a battleground for military strategists.
Yin Weiguo, a country that has never been heard of in history, sounds like a country that does not exist.
Yi Yami sat on the ox cart, which slowly traveled along the country road.
She saw a peaceful and beautiful pastoral scenery.
On either side of the dirt road were golden wheat fields, their ears swaying gently in the breeze, making a subtle rustling sound. Interspersed among the wheat fields were patches of lush vegetable plots, where the green vegetables were growing beautifully.
In the distance are towering mountains covered with lush trees, like a green ocean. When the wind blows, it looks like layers of green waves.
At the foot of the mountain, wisps of smoke were rising from the chimneys of several households, adding a touch of warmth to the entire village.
Yiyami also saw a clear stream curving around the road, the water gurgling and reflecting the blue sky and white clouds. Near the stream, several children were playing.
The air was filled with the fragrance of soil and flowers, which made Yiyami feel happy.
There is no hustle and bustle of the city here, only tranquility and inner peace.
Yi Yami couldn't help but indulge in the beautiful scenery and enjoy this rare peaceful time.
"Sister, when we get to town later, can you buy me some candy?" Yi Xiaomai said to Yi Yami in a low voice.
"It's a small matter." Yi Yami rubbed Yi Xiaomai's head.
…
"We're here." Uncle Ma's deep voice came.
"Thank you, uncle. When will you go back? We are going to buy some things, which may take some time." Yi Yami got out of the car and asked Uncle Ma.
"It's almost noon now. I'll take a break over there and have a meal. You two should hurry up to buy anything you want. I can wait for you until sunset at the latest. It's too late and the road will be difficult to walk on. The market is over there." Uncle Ma, a simple and honest man, answered the little girl's questions in detail and pointed the two people in the direction.
"Okay, thank you uncle!" Yiyami pulled Yixiaomai and walked towards the market.
"You two are snacks. Your mother asked you to do that." Uncle Ma shouted from behind.
