Chapter 171 Nian Nian's Soul-Torture

“Click.”

After washing up, Jiang Duan returned to the bedroom and closed the door.

Although it was useless, Shi Nianzhu, feeling guilty, subconsciously hugged the photo album and the photo in his arms.

Jiang Duan noticed his little movement and climbed onto the bed calmly. He sat half-leaning against the headboard, his legs casually bent and straightened, and said nonchalantly, "What are you doing?"

Her thick eyelashes briefly obscured the hint of amusement that crossed Nianzhu's eyes. He half-turned his back and put the photo album back in the drawer, but tucked the one with the word "baby" written on the back under his pillow.

"Brother Duan." He called Jiang Duan mysteriously.

"Hmm?" The phone screen went off, and Jiang Duan put the phone on the bedside table to charge. After doing this, he turned his head to see if he had any tricks to play.

"Lie down, lie flat." Shi Nianzhu instructed him.

Jiang Duan hesitated for a moment, then obediently lay down in the standard sleeping position.

"Okay." Shi Nianzhu was like an octopus, pressing Jiang Duan's shoulders firmly with both hands to prevent him from escaping. His upper body was half leaning against his waist, staring at his face with scrutinizing eyes, not missing a single detail.

"Brother Duan, your freshman year was the first time you couldn't see me for a long time. Did you miss me very much back then?" Shi Nianzhu asked, then added, "Tell the truth."

The distance between their faces was no more than a palm's length, so close that Jiang Duan could clearly see Shi Nianzhu's lower eyelid. He tilted his head uncontrollably.

"Don't hide." Shi Nianzhu was unreasonable. He held his chin and straightened his face. "If you hide, you will be suspected of lying."

Jiang Duan defended himself: "I never lie."

"No matter what, according to the rules, you can't hide."

"Where are the rules?"

Shi Nianzhu said confidently, "I made it. Okay, stop trying to change the subject and answer me."

Jiang Duan had no idea what to do with him, so he nodded and said, "I really do."

Shi Nianzhu chuckled twice, and was so happy for a long time before asking the next question: "Am I your favorite brother?"

"Yes." After getting used to it for a while, Jiang Duan gradually became fluent in answering.

Shi Nianzhu was very satisfied and asked another question: "Have you ever secretly called me baby?"

After waiting for a long time, Jiang Duan still didn't speak. Shi Nianzhu urged him and pinched his face: "Talk, talk."

Jiang Duan dodged his clutches and cleared his throat: "No."

Shi Nianzhu was stunned for a moment, then looked at him in disbelief.

Gradually, his eyes turned red. Without saying a word, he got up from Jiang Duan and lay back down on the bed.

Jiang Duan noticed that he was in a bad mood, so he stood up and tried to look at his face.

Shi Nianzhu didn't want to pay attention to him and covered her face with the quilt.

Jiang Duan didn't dare to pull hard, so he could only verbally say, "Niannian, why are you angry? Tell me, and I'll change."

"You won't change, you did it on purpose." The aggrieved voice was filtered through the quilt but still sounded pitiful.

Jiang Duan argued for himself: "How do you know I won't change if you don't tell me?"

After hearing this, Shi Nianzhu was so angry that she pushed aside the quilt, reached under the pillow, and slapped the light photo on Jiang Duan's chest.

After he was done, he still threatened with red eyes: "You deliberately lied to me, how could you possibly change?"

Jiang Duan picked up the photo that fell on the quilt, turned it over and saw the word "baby" written by him. He was speechless.

Shi Nianzhu glared at him: "Everyone is responsible for their own actions. If you don't admit it, you are lying to me."

Jiang Duan instinctively raised his hand to wipe his tears: "I'm sorry."

Shi Nianzhu pushed his hand away, "I don't want an apology, I want a reason."

"The reason..." Jiang Duan squeezed the photo tightly, then realized it was about to wrinkle, and immediately relaxed his grip. "Because I'm embarrassed."

"Really?" Shi Nianzhu was suspicious.

"……real."

Jiang Duan suddenly understood what made him angry. He put the photo down, leaned over and tentatively hugged him, letting his face rest on his shoulder. "I'm sorry, baby. I won't lie to you again."

Shi Nianzhu, who was in a bad mood, fell silent immediately. She nestled in his arms like a quail, whispering softly, "...Why are you so embarrassed now?"

"Face is not as important as treasure."

Shi Nianzhu couldn't help but laugh at his amusement, "Well, you can't lie to me again next time, Brother Duan. You're different from others. If you lie to me, I'll be even more sad."

Jiang Duan asked the question that he had perhaps buried deep in his heart: "What is so different about me to you?"

Is it because of different identities, or... or different feelings.

However, Shi Nianzhu couldn't figure out his tangled inner thoughts, so she just gave a general answer: "Everything is different."

After a long time, Jiang Duan closed his eyes, hummed, and didn't ask any more questions.
