Chapter 27 Nian Nian's Number One Partner

Chapter 27 Nian Nian's Number One Partner

Shi Jianfeng chuckled twice and put him back on the ground: "The flowers and grasses all have their own unique fragrance. Nian Nian can go and smell them for yourself. When you've had enough, use the kettle to help Grandpa water them, okay?"

He tapped Nian Nian's watering can with his index finger.

"Okay." Nian Nian was full of fighting spirit and agreed immediately, "Nian Nian, work hard!"

Shi Jianfeng helped him fill half the pot with water, then returned the pot to him and patted his little butt: "Go ahead, water any tree."

Watching Nian Nian carrying a watering can to the area with colorful begonias, he took out a pair of pruning shears from the greenhouse tool box, hummed a little tune, and leisurely began to trim the branches.

The evenly sprayed water mist covered every begonia leaf in the direction of movement. Nian Nian patiently held the small kettle to water the plants, touching the branches and leaves of the begonia from time to time.

As he touched it, he felt something strange, and he couldn't tell what was driving him. Nian Nian suddenly said to Qiu Haitang:

"Are you thirsty?"

Of course, Begonia couldn't speak. Only Yuanyuan at her feet howled twice in response.

Nian Nian didn't hesitate and silently watered the blue begonia with extra water until the leaves, which were no bigger than a palm, were covered with a layer of water. Then he picked up the watering can and turned to look for the next watering target.

His clear and bright eyes rolled around as he took two casual steps. The sunlight outside penetrated the transparent glass and petals and leaves and projected onto the ground. A Phalaenopsis orchid with brown petals suddenly came into his sight.

He let out a short "ah", spread his short legs, hugged his knees and squatted down slowly, pinched a Phalaenopsis leaf with his fingertips, and rubbed it carefully.

Due to excessive moisture loss, the leaves feel like crisp and thin potato chips. With a little force, they crumble into brown powder at your fingertips.

Nian Nian withdrew her hand, and with a stern face, she studied the tiny powder "residues" remaining on her fingertips. After a few seconds, she looked away, frowned, and placed the small water bottle in her hand on the big rock at her feet. The water in the bottle rippled due to the uneven landing.

He cupped his chubby face in his hands, lowering his gaze to look at the small pot of Phalaenopsis in front of him: "Are you thirsty too?"

The withered yellow leaves, filtered through by the powerful sunlight, resembled the yellowed pages of an old book. Nian Nian pondered for a long time with a bitter face, muttering to herself, "Huahua, is it hot?"

His little brain couldn't come up with any reasonable conclusion no matter how hard he tried, so he could only put himself in other people's shoes and try to put himself in their shoes.

Yuanyuan, who had been squatting next to Nian Nian's butt, watched Nian Nian muttering some nonsense like "Nian Nian feels hot, then Huahua feels hot too" and so on.

After muttering, Nian Nian first picked up the kettle and sprayed the pot of Phalaenopsis with water mist for a long time. After spraying, she put down the kettle and puffed up her face to prepare herself mentally.

Immediately, a pair of white and tender little hands without a speck of dirt climbed up the edge of the flowerpot. He took a deep breath and used all his strength to push the Phalaenopsis into the gap between the large green plant area.

Nian Nian promoted the product in a planned way. A pot of large-leaved Glory Philodendron was placed very close to the Phalaenopsis orchid. Its large, round leaves, stretched out from the pot, easily blocked out much of the sunlight, providing enough shade for the Phalaenopsis to rest and recuperate.

So the little guy circled around the Phalaenopsis orchid, pulling and dragging it, and was busy back and forth for nearly ten minutes before he properly placed it under the shade protected by the leaves of the glory philodendron.

"Huff, huff—" Nian Nian was so tired that she squatted with her legs hugged to catch her breath before slowly standing up.

At the other end of the greenhouse, Shi Jianfeng finished trimming the last pot of flowers and roughly calculated the time in his mind.

It's been more than twenty minutes.

"Niannian?" Shi Jianfeng put down the scissors, put his hands behind his back and walked out of the area to look for the little one.

Nian Nian, sweating profusely, raised his hand under the cover of green plants after hearing Shi Jianfeng calling his name: "Grandpa! Nian Nian, here!"

The aisle was empty, and a few large green plants could drown out Nian Nian's figure. Fortunately, the sound could not be blocked, and Shi Jianfeng found the person by following Nian Nian's response.

"Why are you sweating so much?" Shi Jianfeng squatted down, hooked his arms around Nian Nian's back and held her in his arms. He took out an old-fashioned handkerchief that he rarely used from his pocket and wiped the sweat off her face.

"Niannian, hold the flowers." The little guy pointed to the pot of Phalaenopsis.

"Flowers." Shi Jianfeng glanced at the Phalaenopsis orchid, its upper body withered and only the roots green. The flower was probably dead.

In the summer, it's easy for Phalaenopsis to fail. Shi Jianfeng had noticed this Phalaenopsis was in poor condition when he visited the greenhouse. He watered it and shaded it, but it didn't help. So he simply left it alone, letting it fend for itself.

Unexpectedly, it was noticed by little Nian Nian, who was visiting the greenhouse for the first time. Well, it didn't matter if the flower lived or died, so I left it to Nian Nian to mess with as she pleased.

Shi Jianfeng passed by the Phalaenopsis orchid indifferently and ruffled Nian Nian's soft hair. "Our Nian Nian is really amazing. She can even move flowers. Maybe she can hold Yuan Yuan in her arms in the future."

Yuanyuan: “Woof woof!”

Nian Nian narrowed her eyes and pursed her lips: "Nian Nian, grow up."

You will become even more powerful when you grow up. Shi Jianfeng understood what Nian Nian said in a confusing manner. He said nothing, just smiled silently, then picked up Nian Nian's water bottle, held his little hand and slowly walked towards the greenhouse door.

She said she was holding her hand, but in reality, she was holding onto Shi Jianfeng's index finger. His hand was too small, and he couldn't hold on to anything else, so he could only walk this way.

As they were about to reach the door, Shi Jianfeng placed Nian Nian's small kettle on the shelf against the wall of the greenhouse. He picked up Nian Nian and quickly left for the villa.

The sun was too scorching. Shi Jianfeng tried to lean sideways as he walked, shielding Nian Nian from the sun. He placed his other hand across Nian Nian's forehead, casting a shadow to prevent the glare from hitting her eyes.

As they were walking, Shi Jianfeng's cell phone suddenly rang in his pocket. Without stopping, he first let Nian Nian lie on his shoulder to avoid being exposed to the sun, and then he took out his cell phone calmly.

"Hello?" Shi Jianfeng put the phone to his ear. "Now? Okay, got it."

The call ended before even a minute had passed, and the father and son returned to the main villa and entered.

Nian Nian moved her legs to get off the ground, but Shi Jianfeng didn't let her. Instead, he asked, "Would you like to go out and play? Nian Nian, do you want to make new friends?"

Play? New friends? Nian Nian was immediately fooled and nodded repeatedly: "Nian Nian, play."

"Okay, then grandpa will take you there now." Shi Jianfeng walked to the coat rack on the wall, found Nian Nian's light yellow sun hat among various clothes and hats, and took it off.

When there were only some scattered things that Nian Nian could use, Jianfeng waved to his aunt to pack them up and put them in her bag so that she could carry them directly to the car later.

The living room was empty, with only Shi Jianfeng and Nian Nian being present. Shi Guilin and the others had probably finished breakfast and gone upstairs to stay home.

Shi Jianfeng thought that Shi Guilin was Nian Nian's father after all, and he had to know the whereabouts of the child, so he took Nian Nian upstairs and knocked on Shi Guilin's bedroom door.

The door opened, and Shi Jianfeng said straight to the point: "I mentioned it to you before. I will take Nian Nian to the Jiang family later."

Shi Guilin's heart trembled, fearing that Nian Nian would forget everything he taught her. He quickly reviewed the lesson and asked, "Nian Nian, what would you do if you were beaten?"

Nian Nian thought for a moment and said, "Nian Nian, cry."

Shi Guilin: “…” It’s over, it’s all over.

Shi Jianfeng: “…” It doesn’t matter. He can’t ask too much of his one-year-old grandson.

He didn't believe it and asked, "Did he get scolded?"

Nian Nian, with her cute face, kept saying things that made Shi Guilin want to die: "Yes, I'm sorry."

Shi Jianfeng: "..." Whose grandson is this who is being bullied?

Shi Guilin: “…” Dad can really stop taking the medicine and just die.

He frowned and was about to say something, but Shi Jianfeng interrupted him with a wave of his hand: "Don't teach me nonsense, I don't think it's any use. I will keep a close eye on Nian Nian, so don't worry about it."

After saying that, without even bothering to look at Shi Guilin, Shi Jianfeng turned around, picked up Nian Nian, went downstairs, and left.

The aunt acted efficiently and put the packed bags into the car in advance. The driver was already waiting outside the door.

The villa areas of the Jiang family and the Shi family were not far from each other, only a fifteen-minute walk in total, so Shi Jianfeng did not let Nian Nian sit in the baby chair, but held him on his lap and went all the way to the Jiang family.

Although it is not the same villa area, the layout of the Jiang family and the Shi family is not much different, and can even be said to be almost identical. As soon as he got off the car, Nian Nian did not feel that he was in a new place at all. He almost thought he was home.

"We're here, let's go in." Shi Jianfeng took his bag out of the car and walked into the door of the Jiang family's villa with Nian Nian without any obstruction.

"Hey, here you come!" It was a strong voice, old but not weak.

Old Master Jiang, also known as Jiang Shengjun, was sitting on the sofa greeting the visitors. The pot of tea on the table in front of him was still emitting steaming white smoke, as if it had just been brewed to entertain the guests.

Shi Jianfeng walked up to them and said cheerfully, "Of course, I promised you a long time ago. How could an old man like me break a promise?"

"Uncle Shi," Cheng Huili stood up, clasping her hands in front of her, her eyebrows as slender as willow leaves, her posture humble, "Long time no see."

Her gaze first lingered on Shi Jianfeng, then lowered to Nian Nian, and her hands folded in front of her clenched nervously.

To be more precise, it wasn't just nervousness, but also respect and gratitude. Tears flashed in her eyes and then quickly faded away. She only glanced at her son, who had remained silent until now—her son, Jiang Duan, who suffered from high-functioning autism.

She has no friends' son, Jiang Duan.

No matter what, Cheng Huili was extremely grateful that Uncle Shi allowed his grandson and Jiang Duan to try to communicate and get along with each other without any prejudice and for the sake of his friendship with the Jiang family. She had no further requests.

Shi Jianfeng waved his hand to signal Cheng Huili not to be unfamiliar, and sat down without any hesitation. Sticky rice dumplings Nian Nian sat down next to her grandfather.

Jiang Shengjun smiled kindly at Nian Nian and sarcastically said, "You have a face like that, but you have such a soft-looking grandson."

Before Shi Jianfeng could scoff at his words, he took out a large red envelope and waved it in front of Nian Nian's eyes like a dried fish to lure a kitten.

"Little guy, call me Grandpa Jiang and the red envelope will be yours."
