Chapter 83 Nian Nian Enrolls
After all the preparations before school are completed, the hot summer vacation gradually passes in the cycle of sunrise and moonset, and then the early autumn of the school season arrives.
September 1st is the start date chosen by most schools, and it is also the registration day for students at Changying Kindergarten.
Shi Linzhuo and Shi Nanqi, two experienced students, had no need to worry and asked the driver to take them to school as they were familiar with the route.
Nian Nian, the new kid, was treated very differently from the other two. It was probably the first day of school for the kindergarteners, so all the parents dressed up and personally sent their children to school.
The Shi family is no exception. Except for the two office workers in the family, Shi Guilin and his family have to send the little one to school.
But since it was her first time going to school, Nian Nian was a little hesitant to get out of bed in the morning. When Gui Lin and his group arrived at the kindergarten gate, the flow of people in front of the gate could be described as a crowd.
Shi Guilin, wearing a baseball cap, was the first to open the car door and stepped out. He turned around, held the door open, and extended his hand toward the car.
"Baby, get out of the car."
Nian Nian put her hand on it, held it tightly, and landed on the ground awkwardly, with the empty little schoolbag on her back shaking.
"That's a lot of legs, papa."
There were too many people, and men and women wearing all kinds of leather shoes and high heels were walking around. Shorty Nian Nian was immersed in the crowd, and due to limited vision, all she could see were the legs of adults walking non-stop.
"There are too many people." Shi Guilin sighed casually and picked up Nian Nian. "We're afraid our baby will get lost if we keep holding them."
Shi Jianfeng and Wang Xiulin each opened the car door, looked around at the crowd, and stood on both sides of Shi Guilin.
"Have the Xi and Jiang children arrived yet?" Wang Xiulin patted Shi Guilin's arm. "If they have, hurry up and meet up with them. That way, Nian Nian will have company when she goes to school."
As soon as she reminded him, Nian Nian, who was still half asleep, woke up. He moved his arm around Shi Guilin's neck, as if to signal, "Papa, Nian Nian wants to find Brother Duan and Mu Mu."
"They came faster than us, and they are all at the door." Shi Guilin lifted the little girl in his arms and touched their foreheads intimately, "Let's go find them now."
The three people and the baby walked through the bustling crowds and traffic, heading towards the eye-catching gate of Changying Kindergarten with a firm and clear goal.
This was the first time that Nian Nian met so many people of similar age in one occasion. Almost every two adults held the hand of a child who was about the same age or slightly taller than him.
He was a little scared, but also excited about the unknown.
I don’t know which child will be his good friend in the future.
"Nian Nian! We are here!"
Nian Nian looked in the direction of the shouting and saw Xi Zimu, carrying a sky-blue schoolbag, jumping and waving at him. Next to him was Jiang Duan, who was standing straight.
He didn't call anyone, but his eyes were locked on Nian Nian.
Xi Zhu, Cheng Huili and Jiang Shengjun stood behind them.
"Mumu!" Nian Nian excitedly raised one arm and waved, "Brother Duan!"
"Papa, let Nian Nian down quickly."
Shi Guilin quickly approached them and whispered sourly into the little guy's ear: "Now that you, brother Duan, are here, they don't need their dad anymore. Sigh."
"Yes, yes, Nian Nian loves papa, mua!" He held Shi Guilin's chin and gave him a loud kiss.
Guilin's eyes suddenly lit up with a smile under the brim of his hat when he saw the cub's high-profile display of affection. He put the little guy down and patted his butt: "Go."
Nian Nian ran towards Xi Zimu and Jiang Duan.
The three little ones were laughing and huddled together, attracting the attention of people around them.
"You guys are so fast." Nian Nian, who was holding hands with her friends, said admiringly.
"Of course Jiang Duan and I are fast. I'm just so happy to go to school with you guys. Jiang Duan is always on time." Xi Zimu responded to Nian Nian's compliment without any shyness, and then said affirmatively, "You must be sleeping."
Every morning he called or sent a message to Nian Nian, but Nian Nian never replied in time, which showed that she never got up early.
Nian Nian choked, her face flushed, and she whispered softly, "Papa called me, and Nian Nian remembered to get up and wash her face. But, but when I opened my eyes, Nian Nian was still under the quilt."
He had clearly reached the stage of changing clothes in his sleep.
"See, I knew it." Xi Zimu leaned forward, squinted his eyes and smiled at Nian Nian.
"It doesn't matter. We haven't missed the reporting time anyway." Jiang Duan has always been very tolerant of Nian Nian's requests, almost to the point of no tolerance.
"Yeah." Nian Nian's embarrassment dissipated a little.
When the three of them chatted from breakfast to kindergarten, Shi Guilin finally interrupted them: "Okay, you guys go register first, and we'll talk about the rest later."
The kids held hands and nodded, and were surrounded by adults as they walked quietly to the teachers who were welcoming them at the door.
Next to each teacher is a cartoon sign with the class name printed on it.
"Which class are the kids from?"
Without Shi Guilin and the others answering for the little ones, Xi Zimu looked up and raised a finger, "Teacher, Nian Nian and I are both in the Star Class."
"From the Star Class."
Children with cute looks and clear speech always easily gain the favor of adults. The teacher couldn't help but raise her voice a little, "The students in the Star Class, please go and report to Teacher Tan, the third one with long hair over there."
"Thank you, teacher." Xi Zimu turned his head carelessly and looked at Nian Nian and the others, "Then let's go find Teacher Tan."
With the social terrorist Xi Zimu taking the lead, the three little ones went through the registration process on their own without any worries from the adults.
The adults who fell behind them chatted with each other.
Shi Guilin sighed, "Sister Cheng, Duan still hasn't started the senior class yet?"
"Well, I've thought about it over and over again. The whole point of going to school is to let him make more friends. If he doesn't know anyone in the older class, he might have trouble fitting in, which would be more trouble than it's worth."
Cheng Huili lowered her eyes slightly, the heartwarming scene of the three children holding hands in front of her etched in her mind. "Duan's learning progress at home has been on par with elementary school these past few years. We didn't expect him to learn anything in kindergarten, so it doesn't matter whether he attends a large or small class."
"Besides, Duan is only five years old now. After three years of kindergarten, he will only be seven years old. At most, he will start elementary school at the age of eight. We can accept that."
"True," Xi Zhu agreed. "Kindergarten is mainly for developing children's independence and self-reliance. How can they really learn any important knowledge?"
As they chatted, Nian Nian and the others finally found the teacher for the Star Class. This time, it wasn't Xi Zimu who found the teacher first; it was Jiang Duan who recognized the word "Star" on the sign.
Nian Nian praised Xi Zimu and also praised Jiang Duan, who was still very powerful in his mind.
After praising him, he bowed to his teacher at a 90-degree angle, showing respect for his teacher. However, he bowed so hard that his head almost hit the ground and his heels even lifted up.
"Hello, teacher. We are from the Star Class."
