Chapter 209 A Letter from the Prince's Mansion (2/2)

Before Yao Qisheng left, he still had a few words he wanted to say to Xu Heming.

“Of course, Uncle, this way please.” Xu Heming gestured to Yao Qisheng.

Li Zhiwei helped Yao Shi into the Li family home. Before entering, she looked back at Xu Heming and Yao Qisheng with some unease.

However, her mother had clearly been upset today, and her complexion was not good. After thinking for a moment, Li Zhiwei decided to take her mother back to rest first.

"I wonder if Uncle has anything he wants to say?" Xu Heming asked Yao Qisheng.

“I know you are a prince, and I am just a merchant. Under normal circumstances, I would not even have the right to speak to you.” Yao Qisheng was actually a little afraid of Xu Heming.

However, considering that his niece was going to marry him, Yao Qisheng felt that as her uncle, he should also make a gesture.

"You're Zhiwei's uncle, so you're being too polite," Xu Heming said, his words neither polite nor obsequious.

Yao Qisheng is Li Zhiwei's uncle. As long as he doesn't do anything too outrageous, he will still treat him with some courtesy because of Li Zhiwei.

"Since you acknowledge me as your uncle, I have a few words to say to you, but I hope Your Highness will not take offense." Yao Qisheng sighed.

He continued, "I am extremely unwilling for Zhiwei to marry you, because you have not only been married before, but also have a child. No matter how noble your status is, I feel that my niece is at a disadvantage if she marries you. She will become your child's stepmother, and from now on, her child will be inferior to your previous child."

"I only hope that you can be more lenient with her in the future, and not let Weiwei and her child suffer because of the child left by your previous wife. If you feel that she is not up to the standard of your manor, you can send her back. Our Li family and Yao family can afford to support her."

Yao Qisheng said with a serious expression.

Xu Heming hadn't taken it too seriously at first, but upon hearing Yao Qisheng's words, he dared not underestimate him any longer. He still assured him, "Uncle, you can rest assured, I will definitely not mistreat Zhiwei. She is my princess consort. From now on, we are one. Qingshi also likes Zhiwei very much."

Xu Heming suddenly wondered if, in the future, he had a daughter, he would also do the same to warn that brat who wanted to marry her.

“Since Your Highness has spoken, then I, Yao, entrust Weiwei to Your Highness. If Your Highness ever betrays Weiwei in the future, I, Yao, will certainly use the full strength of the Yao family to get Weiwei back.” After Yao Qisheng finished speaking, he took out a picture from his pocket and handed it to Xu Heming.

"I found this map by chance in my family's storeroom. I haven't verified what's mentioned on it. If Your Highness has time, you can take a look." Yao Qisheng handed the treasure map, which was passed down in the Yao family, to Xu Heming.

After all, it might not be a good thing for this thing to stay with the Yao family.

He also wanted to pass it on to the imperial family through Xu Heming.

However, he still had some selfish motives. Of the two jade pendants, one was with Yao Shi, and the other was in the box he gave to Li Zhiwei.

Whether there is treasure or not is not his concern.

Xu Heming was puzzled and wanted to find the last picture to see what it was.

"Your Highness, please take a look when you have time. I'll take my leave now!" Yao Qisheng quickly stopped Xu Heming from looking for Kai Tu. After saying that, he cupped his hands and turned to leave.

"Your Highness, what did your great-uncle say to you? What did he give you?" Qingsong asked, looking at the map in Xu Heming's hand with a puzzled expression.

"I don't know. Go and have Zhao Xincheng investigate thoroughly what those people are all about." Xu Heming wasn't curious about what the picture was at this moment; he was more angry at Li Yaozu and the others.

As soon as Qingsong left, a guard rushed over.

"Your Highness, something terrible has happened! A letter has arrived from the Prince's residence; something has happened to the Old Princess."

The guard handed the letter to Xu Heming and said anxiously.

Xu Heming frowned as he looked at the letter, which did not bear the official seal of the Prince's Mansion. He then gave the visitor a rather strange look.
