When Lin Lanzhi saw the look the Empress gave her, she felt a sudden panic, but then she remembered that she was carrying the Emperor's child, so the Empress probably wouldn't dare to do anything to her.
"Empress, I know you're busy all the time, but no matter how busy you are, you can't let the Emperor look after the child, especially a troublesome one like the Third Prince," Lin Lanzhi said smugly.
"Baby, you mustn't bother your father like your third brother did in the future, understand?" Lin Lanzhi said, gently stroking her belly.
"Oh dear, Your Majesty, you'd better hurry inside. The Emperor must be getting impatient," the eunuch said anxiously, looking at the young eunuch who wasn't in a hurry to enter the Imperial Study.
"Eunuch Wu, please go in and tell the Emperor that it's not that I don't want to go in, but Consort Lin wants to lecture me here. Consort Lin is carrying the Emperor's child, and I dare not neglect her." The Empress stood at the door of the Imperial Study, showing no intention of going in. She seemed not to hear the deafening cries inside.
Upon hearing this, the young eunuch known as Eunuch Wu turned pale.
He looked around the Imperial Study with a worried expression.
She then rolled her eyes at Lin Lanzhi, thinking to herself, "This little concubine really thinks she's someone important, she even dares to lecture the Empress."
Eunuch Wu didn't dare to delay any longer and quickly went into the Imperial Study.
"Is there anything else Consort Lin would like to say to me?" the Empress asked kindly, a slight smile playing on her lips.
Seeing the Empress's receptive attitude, Lin Lanzhi felt incredibly smug.
So what if she's the Empress? Doesn't she have to obey her?
Zhu Jingchen's face darkened upon hearing what Eunuch Wu said.
Does a simple promise mean that being pregnant with his child gives you the right to do whatever you want?
"Tell her to get in here!" Zhu Jingchen said angrily.
"Your Majesty, shall we let the Empress in?" Eunuch Wu asked cautiously again.
"Please invite the Empress in as well," Zhu Jingchen said with a hint of helplessness, glancing at the two children who were still wailing.
Upon hearing this, Eunuch Wu understood that the one who rolled in was Consort Lin.
He sneered inwardly, thinking that someone was probably about to be in trouble.
"Eunuch, did the Emperor let me in?" Lin Lanzhi asked excitedly as she watched Eunuch Wu come out.
"Your Majesty, the Emperor invites you in," Eunuch Wu said respectfully, bowing to the Empress.
"Thank you for your trouble, Eunuch Wu." The Empress nodded and then walked slowly toward the Imperial Study.
"What about me?" Lin Lanzhi hadn't expected that after being here for so long, the Emperor would still refuse to see her.
"Consort Lin, His Majesty commands you to go inside," Eunuch Wu said coldly, straightening his back.
"You're talking nonsense!" Lin Lanzhi's eyes widened; she couldn't believe the Emperor would say such a thing.
"Why doesn't Consort Lin ask the Emperor himself and find out if this servant is lying?" Eunuch Wu thought that Consort Lin was really not smart. This was the Imperial Study; how many heads did he have to lie?
"Hmph, just you wait!" Lin Lan stormed into the imperial study, and before she even entered, she called out in a shrill voice, "Your Majesty!"
Upon hearing this, Zhu Jingchen, who was sitting in the Imperial Study, trembled all over.
What species is Lin Lanzhi?
Upon hearing this, the Empress said nothing, but simply glanced quietly in Lin Lanzhi's direction.
He wondered, could it be that the Emperor likes this kind of thing?
