Chapter 27 Returning Home (2/2)

"Father, will you hit me?" Xu Qingshi jogged after him, mustered his courage, and asked Xu Heming.

"What are you doing in the palace today?" Xu Heming asked instead of answering Xu Qingshi's question.

Xu Qingshi lowered his head, somewhat hesitant. Could he say that he had come to the palace today to ask the Third Prince to plead for him?

"Father, I was wrong." Xu Qingshi thought for a moment and obediently admitted his mistake, even though he didn't know what he had done wrong.

"What did he do wrong?" Xu Heming sighed. He hadn't even said anything yet, and he was already apologizing. This was unlike his son at all; he had no backbone.

What went wrong?

Xu Qingshi didn't know for a moment what he had done wrong.

He didn't actually think he had done anything wrong, but wasn't he just afraid that his father would be angry with him and punish him?

"From now on, if you need anything, you can ask me first," Xu Heming sighed.

“But you’re always busy with all sorts of things, and I can’t find you when I want to,” Xu Qingshi said, sounding a little aggrieved.

He actually admired his father a lot, but sometimes he also wished his father would be home every day.

He can be taught all sorts of skills.

“Then let’s go find her…” Xu Heming wanted to say to go find his grandmother, but then he thought that his mother was getting old and that even this little rascal Xu Qingshi was willing but unable to do so.

"Can I go to my stepmother?" Xu Qingshi suddenly thought of Li Zhiwei and asked.

"Hmm!" Will Li Zhiwei take care of his child?

Xu Heming, actually, I'm not entirely sure.

However, now that he has brought her into his household, he is not bringing her back to be displayed.

If she were willing to help him discipline Xu Qingshi...

Thinking of this, Xu Heming clenched his fists.

What if she doesn't want to?

There's nothing I can do about it, is there?

"Father, do you think that stepmother will beat me?" Xu Qingshi's eyes darted around, thinking that Xie Yanzhi had told him that stepmothers were all tigresses.

His stepmother, looking at her, isn't even half as strong as a tiger.

Could it be that it can transform?

“If you do something wrong, even if she doesn’t hit you, I won’t let you off easily.” Xu Heming stood there, staring intently at Xu Qingshi, and said firmly.

"Father, I will be obedient," Xu Qingshi said, quickly covering his bottom in fright.

He didn't want to be beaten.

If we really have to fight, why don't we let Li Zhiwei fight?

Isn't it said that women are weaker?

Li Zhiwei watched the father and son return to the mansion, feeling somewhat puzzled.

She hadn't seen Xu Qingshi all day; it turned out he had gone out with Xu Heming.

"The young master went out with the prince," Li Zhi said with a smile.

"Stepmother, were you waiting for me?" For some reason, Xu Qingshi felt an unusual warmth towards Li Zhiwei at this moment.

Heaven knows, all the way there he was worried about what to do if his father beat him when he got back to the manor.

"The old princess has asked about the young prince several times, so I'll wait here," Li Zhiwei quickly said.

"Oh dear, I miss my grandmother too! Stepmother, please take me to see her!" Xu Qingshi said, pulling Li Zhiwei toward Ci'an Hall.

Li Zhiwei wanted to ask Xu Heming if her father was already on his way to Beijing.

However, seeing Xu Qingshi's eagerness, he had no choice but to follow him to Ci'an Hall first.
