Chapter 53
Jiang Yu watched as Xu Qingshi leisurely ate grapes and couldn't help but feel a little anxious.
"You still have the leisure to eat grapes here? The news is going around like crazy outside." Xie Yanzhi also ran over, snatched a grape from Xu Qingshi's hand, and ate it with relish.
"What's going on? It's all over the news?" Xu Qingshi asked nonchalantly.
In his opinion, nothing made him happier than his father wanting to marry Li Zhiwei.
"Everyone outside is saying that Prince An is fine and just likes to wander around the capital shirtless," Xie Yanzhi said, rubbing his nose.
"Uh..." For some reason, Xu Qingshi felt that these words sounded somewhat familiar.
"That must be someone who's jealous of my father and is spreading rumors on purpose. The capital is so big, has any of you ever seen my father shirtless?" Xu Qingshi said, finding a reason.
She thought to herself, "How could my dad, with his flamboyant personality, possibly go out naked?"
That must be someone deliberately framing his father.
Xu Qingshi had completely forgotten about the argument he had with Wei Herui.
"Xu Qingshi, instead of going to find the culprit, how can you sit at home?" Jiang Yu asked, looking at Xu Qingshi in disbelief.
"Why should I go looking for him? Even my father isn't worried, so why should I?" Xu Qingshi blinked, clearly unwilling to go find the culprit.
"But if your father's reputation is ruined, what girl would be willing to marry him? Haven't you always wanted to find a stepmother?" Jiang Yu asked, puzzled.
Although there were rumors that Li Zhiwei had married Prince An, Jiang Yu had asked his mother and learned that Prince An had not married Li Zhiwei and that she could not be considered his principal wife; at most, she was just a concubine.
In a prominent family like the Prince An's Mansion, the principal wife had to be carried into the mansion in a grand sedan chair carried by eight men to be considered a proper marriage.
“Don’t I already have a stepmother?” Xu Qingshi said, glancing at Jiang Yu with some displeasure.
"No way, Your Highness, are you really going to let your father marry Li Zhiwei as his stepmother?" Xie Yanzhi asked, his eyes wide.
"I heard that Li Zhiwei donated all of her dowry to the imperial court. Is that true?" Xie Yanzhi had witnessed firsthand how lavish Li Zhiwei's dowry was.
Unexpectedly, Li Zhiwei actually donated everything.
"Really, but there are two things left. Do you want to go take a look?" Xu Qingshi thought to himself that those two things were the ones he had tried so hard to keep.
"At the Prince's residence?" Jiang Yu asked curiously.
"I'll take you to see it." Xu Qingshi said, then became interested, clapped his hands, and walked towards the room where Li Zhiwei's only items were a canopy bed and a coffin.
Mo Yu wanted to go with him, but Xu Qingshi stopped her: "I'm not leaving the manor, what are you doing following me?"
After hearing her master's words, Mo Yu thought that with so many servants in the mansion, nothing should happen.
When Xu Qingshi led the people to the warehouse.
Since the items were placed there, it was generally impossible for ordinary people to take them, so no one was specifically assigned to guard them.
"What exactly is this treasure, Qing Shi?" Jiang Yu asked, puzzled, looking at Xu Qing Shi's mysterious expression.
"You'll see when you come along." Xu Qingshi wasn't surprised by the canopy bed; it was just an ordinary bed. However, he was very curious about the coffin.
After all, this is something that usually no one would bring up to him and talk about.
Children are always very curious about things that adults don't want you to see.
Xie Yanzhi and Jiang Yu also said they had never seen the black box before.
