Chapter 55 Why (2/2)

Jiang Yu was jolted awake and groggily opened his eyes. He saw Xie Jincheng holding him, and then saw his father standing beside him with a bewildered expression. He pouted and mumbled in a sleepy voice, "Dad... Uncle Xie... why are you here?"

Jiang Hanhai's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets as he pointed at Jiang Yu, his fingers trembling: "You...you...how did you get in there?"

Jiang Hanhai suddenly realized that the little hand he had just seen and the "thump" he had heard were all caused by this brat!

He had been tricked by his own son, Xu Heming, and Xie Jincheng!

For a moment, he was filled with both fear and anger, his face turning red and white in turns.

"Hahaha!" Xie Jincheng could no longer hold back and burst into laughter. "Marquis Yongning, you said you didn't want this treasure, but I'm taking it back with me!"

Xu Heming couldn't help but chuckle, shook his head, and leaned down to look into the coffin.

Sure enough, his own troublesome and unfilial son Xu Qingshi and Xie family's young master Xie Yanzhi were curled up at the other end of the coffin, their heads touching, fast asleep.

Xu Qingshi even smacked his lips, clearly having a sweet dream.

"Xu! He! Ming!" Jiang Hanhai finally came to his senses and realized that he had been laughed at by these two for a long time. He was immediately furious and embarrassed.

Xu Heming straightened up, his smile unchanged, but his tone carried a sense of entitlement: "I said, I can't afford to raise him. Someone as troublesome as him should be taken back and properly raised by the Marquis of Yongning."

He paused, then looked at the other two "culprits" in the coffin, and said to Xie Jincheng, "Lord Xie, will you take these two remaining 'treasures' with you, or shall I dispose of them myself?"

Xie Jincheng looked at his son and the heir lying side by side in the coffin and said with a wry smile, "No way, my family is too small to accommodate such a big Buddha as the heir. Your Highness, you'd better work hard yourself."

At this moment, Xu Qingshi and Xie Yun, who had been completely awakened by the laughter and talking, rubbed their eyes and sat up, looking blankly at the three adults surrounding the coffin.

"Father?"

"Father? Uncle Jiang?"

Xu Qingshi's heart skipped a beat when he saw his father's half-smiling expression. He quickly scrambled out and tried to explain, "Father, we were just curious... what this black box is for, but it's actually quite comfortable to sleep in here, except it's a bit hard... so we... we just lay down in it to try it out... and we actually fell asleep..."

Xie Yanzhi nodded hastily, his face pale, knowing he had made a mistake.

Xu Heming looked at his son and his two friends, who were terrified, and then at Jiang Hanhai, who was fuming and glaring, and Xie Jincheng, who was enjoying the show. In the end, he just sighed and gave each of them a flick on the forehead.

"Nonsense! You dare to squeeze into any place! Do you know how terrified everyone is?"

Although his tone was stern, there was little anger in his eyes, but rather a sense of helplessness and relief at having found the person.

The scene of disciplining the child, coupled with the huge coffin next to it, looked particularly bizarre and funny.

Jiang Hanhai snatched his still-dazed, chubby son from Xie Jincheng's arms, feeling both heartache and anger. In the end, he could only snort heavily, "I'll deal with you when we get back!"

Xie Jincheng put his arm around his son's shoulder and laughed, "Alright, alright, it's good that the person has been found. But Your Highness, your mansion's storeroom... is truly unique."

Xie Jincheng's tone was full of teasing.

Xu Heming rubbed his temples, feeling a throbbing vein on his forehead.

Wei Jing'an walked out of the palace in a daze, not understanding why the emperor would do such a thing.
