Chapter 1853 Arrival at the Tribe

As the time approached Shenshi (3-5 PM), the caravan slowly arrived at the tribe's territory. The elders appeared at the tribe's entrance, and a long horn sounded to welcome the prince who had traveled from afar.

Batubuhe changed into a royal blue Mongolian robe, braided his hair into a Mongolian style, and wore a bitter smile on his face.

Back then, he and his son left together, hoping to go to Qiumi. Who would have thought that when he returned to the tribe, Abu was gone, and he became the master of the tribe.

“Batu Buhe, we will stand by you. From the moment you set foot on this land, you are the master. In front of your people, you can only call me Fourth Master and Qingyan Fourth Consort, understand?” Yinzhen said to Batu Buhe.

Yinzhen treated him like his own child, and when something happened, he would always give him instructions many times out of concern.

Batubuhe nodded quickly, grateful that Yinzhen had agreed in advance. Huricha had even brought up this issue yesterday.

After the carriage stopped, Batubuhe was the first to get off. Huricha watched him land and felt grateful to Yinzhen.

Yinzhen and Qingyan followed closely behind, and the twins were the last to get out of the car. When the leader saw Yinzhen and Qingyan appear, he quickly knelt down to pay his respects.

Batubuhe gestured with his small hand, making them all kowtow.

"It's almost evening, go back and rest for a day before you come to pay your respects." Batubuhe was worried that the twins were tired, which is why he suggested resting for a day before coming back.

This decision was discussed between Batubuhe and Huricha, and Yinzhen was somewhat surprised when he heard this.

The leaders caught a glimpse of Yinzhen's surprised expression out of the corner of their eyes, and knew that this decision must have been made by Batu Buhe.

After everyone entered the main tent, Yinzhen's guards began to set up tents in the middle. In the tribe, there were no more tents of the prince's specifications.

Once everyone had left, the twins finally relaxed. They hadn't been able to ride in a carriage or be carried by the nannies along the way, and the two little ones were secretly envious of Hafeng.

"Father, I'm thinking of seeing them again in a couple of days, at least to get a better understanding of the situation." Batu Buhe revealed his malicious intentions, and Yinzhen smiled, thinking that this was for the best.

"Yes, this is a good idea. You can decide what you want to do." Yinzhen nodded in satisfaction. "Huricha should know more about this in the tribe."

"Father, I hope you can accompany me to gradually see those loyal servants. Logically, I should meet them myself, but I hope you can help me see if there are any disloyal ones. Abu is no longer here, but his influence remains, though it cannot prevent those people from being bribed." Batu Buhe felt that his abilities were limited, and it would be best if he could get Yinzhen's help.

Yinzhen nodded: "Let Hu Richa find out first, and we'll talk about it when things progress."

Batubuhe smiled happily and said, "Father, why don't you send someone to help investigate as well?"

Yinzhen glanced at Batu Buhe in surprise, then immediately ordered Erlu to investigate.

Batu Buhe trusted Huricha, but not the servants he had arranged. The Right Wing Prince's tribe was already under Kangxi's control. Batu Buhe had listened to the old prince's instructions to make everything transparent and not let anyone have any leverage over him.

Huricha stood aside and listened to Batubuhe's words. He felt a little comforted. With the old prince gone, he had grown up.

After dinner, Yinzhen received detailed information. Except for Hafeng, who had been taken to sleep in a side tent by Suyan, everyone else had gathered in the study.

Erlu's investigation report was passed around among the group. Qingyan looked at the elders' schemes recorded on it and his face darkened. Hafeng is so young, yet he's already being targeted.

Among the leaders, it wasn't just some people eyeing Hafeng; some were even ridiculously targeting Qingyan. Yinzhen's dark expression made Batu Buhe carefully choose his words.

“Father…this…” Batu Buhe tried to explain, but was interrupted by Yinzhen.

"Needless to say, the guards around your mother need to be strengthened." Yinzhen sneered.

The former Eighth Prince's wife, Lady Guoluo, remarried into a Mongol tribe. If Qingyan really divorces Yinzhen, the Mongols will still accept her. Yinzhen's face darkened; these people's schemes will definitely fail.

Qingyan has been surrounded by many more people, as have the twins and Hafeng, and Batubuhe has more undercover agents around him.

"Father, I don't think I need to use the emergency supplies I have with me, right?" Batu Buhe was very happy to hear Yinzhen's arrangement. Yinzhen didn't treat him like an outsider, but he still had to be polite.

“Batu Buhe, we can’t openly send you more guards, as it would be detrimental to your control of this place. However, we can secretly increase our strength later.” Yinzhen’s words reassured Batu Buhe. “Tomorrow morning, you must inspect the tribe, and you must meet with these chiefs first.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Yinzhen circled the names of several people on the memorial. Batu Buhe looked at the documents and a strange expression appeared on his face.

"Father, are you sure?" Batu Buhe asked worriedly, "Are these people plotting against Mother?"

"Yes, let them slip up first so we can target them one by one. You don't want to live on the edge these next few days, do you?" Yinzhen had already made the arrangements. "My dear, you must dress up for tomorrow."

Qingyan looked at Yinzhen suspiciously, unsure of his intentions, but out of trust, she finally nodded.

Yinzhen had a smile on his face. Tomorrow would indeed be a good show to watch. It seemed these people needed to be dealt with properly.

After breakfast, Qingyan changed into a royal blue dress embroidered with peonies in Suzhou style with gold thread, and wore a kingfisher feather headdress.

Following Yinzhen's instructions, Batu Buhe granted advance permission for several selected leaders to come and pay their respects. They entered with their wives and first greeted Yinzhen and Qingyan. As they rose, Yinzhen did not miss the amazement in the eyes of the leaders, nor did he miss the scheming in the eyes of the wives.

"Xiao Guai, go and entertain the wives, leave this place to Batu Buhe." Yinzhen glanced at Qingyan and told her to take the women to the side tent.

Qingyan agreed and went over with the women.

After everyone was seated, the wives first served some local delicacies and repeatedly invited them to a banquet.

Su Zhu stood behind Qing Yan and carefully examined the food. Sure enough, a lot of medicinal herbs had been added to it.

Qingyan held up her teacup, took a sip, and saw that it contained Taiping Houkui tea personally brewed by Yinzhen.

“My lord, Imperial Physician Yuan is outside the tent,” Su Lan said as she entered and greeted him. “Today is the day you are to have your pulse checked. His Majesty instructed that you must have your pulse checked on time.”
