The afternoon sun was shining brightly, but now the sky has turned gloomy, as if in harmony with Qingyan's anger.
The servants in the courtyard were read out one by one about their crimes, and cries of injustice rang out. Qingyan ignored them, glanced at Bayan, took a storybook from Sulan's hand, and began to read it.
Now that she has overcome her challenges, Fei Yanggu and Yin Zong always say the same thing: mothers are strong.
"Master, would you like to come inside and relax a little?" Su Lan was worried that the noise would disturb the young master.
Qingyan quickly shook her head: "I'm teaching the child how to be a master!"
Initially, the education of the twins in this regard was handled by Emperor Kangxi and Yinzhen. During the southern tour, Qingyan saw the extraordinary side of the two children, and their superior attitude made Qingyan feel very proud.
Compared to the eldest sons of the clan members, Yiken'e had a domineering presence.
"When I go in, no matter who pleads for mercy, they must be punished according to the master's rules. When they are punished, their mouths must be gagged." Qingyan got up and went back to her room. She leaned against the soft couch and opened the screen in her space, which showed the situation in Yin's courtyard.
She pouted slightly; Yin was actually dealing with state affairs and hadn't punished anyone at all.
As if sensing Qingyan's attention, he suddenly said, "Master doesn't necessarily have to witness the execution. What are the servants below doing?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Qingyan was speechless. Yin really had a lot of tricks up his sleeve.
"Come out of the courtyard." Yin placed Qingyan in the inner chamber, but he was not entirely at ease. "Just let Sulan and Bayan keep an eye on her."
Qingyan got up, put on her clothes, walked out the door with Suzhu and the servants behind her, and went directly to Yin's study.
When Qingyan arrived at the study, she found the courtyard spotless, with no one being punished.
Yin stood at the door, took her little hand, and went inside together. Su Zhu and Su Peisheng, with great foresight, stayed outside.
"Fourth Brother, why is no one in the courtyard?" Qingyan asked, puzzled.
"Of course, just hand those people over to the people below. Why are you suffering there?" Yin knew Qingyan well. If she were to witness the entire execution, she would definitely have a high fever that night.
Qingyan stuck out her tongue; Yin was thinking of her.
"I've asked Su Peisheng to prepare a sedan chair. Let's go to Father and Mother's place!" Yin heard from Consort Tong that the twins really liked Huanghua Town, and that huge maze would be perfect for passing the time.
The two little guys, Songkelierha and Hutulifengshengzhalafen, really like it.
Half an hour later, Qingyan was moved to the pavilion behind the Yellow Flower Maze. Yingenjueluo stood at the edge of the pavilion, watching her daughter through a telescope. The twins had just been led into the maze by the nannies. The two of them walked forward hand in hand like little adults. Shu was amused by the two little people in front of her.
“Yiken’e rarely smiles! He always has such a serious little face. Fourth brother, look at your son, he’s actually copying you!” Yin saw Yiken’e’s appearance through the telescope and couldn’t help but complain.
Emperor Kangxi laughed heartily behind them. On his left and right sat Consort Tong and Consort Hui, both of whom looked very well.
"Fourth Prince, did you hear that? Don't let Yiken'e become like you!" Kangxi felt that teasing Yinzhi was no longer fun, so he would often tease Yiken'e with Consort Tong.
"Father, don't let Yiken'e hate you when he grows up!" Yin was speechless. His father always liked to do this. Yiken'e had been teased a few times and almost stopped falling for it. If the little guy was in a good mood, he would interact with Kangxi.
"Hmph, Yiken'e is far more filial than you. He entertains his parents with colorful clothes, but what about you?" Kangxi glared at Yinzhen. "Besides your cold and aloof demeanor, you have no other qualities at all!"
Yin shook his head. Kangxi was getting old and was actually joking. Yin thought that with Consort Tong by Kangxi's side, at least he had someone to keep him warm, unlike in his previous life when he was all alone.
"Father!" Yin's face flushed slightly as he held back his words, and he couldn't help but raise his voice by an octave.
"Father, the fourth son is thin-skinned. Do you think I am?" Yin Geng added insult to injury.
Yin glared angrily at Yin. Why hadn't this guy cooperated with Kangxi so well before?
"Well, we father and son have reached a tacit understanding. Fourth son, you always have a stern face, isn't it stiff?" Kangxi gave Yin an approving look and asked him directly.
"Of course not, I'm used to it!" When Yin was young, he was unpredictable, but after the soul was replaced, Yin had gotten used to his cold demeanor.
"She's so unlovable!" Consort Tong also chimed in with her opinion.
Consort Hui covered her face with a handkerchief and laughed; it was rare for Consort Tong to joke with a child.
“The fourth son is very good. On the contrary, the eldest son, who is clearly the elder brother, always teases his younger brother when he has nothing to do.” Consort Hui stood directly beside Yin.
Yin said gratefully, "Mother Hui, you see things much more clearly!"
"Mother, I'm bold and unrestrained, but Fourth Prince is too well-behaved. He's been in the military port for so long, and we still haven't gotten rid of his bad habit." Yin Cai wouldn't let Yin Cai off so easily.
Every time he went out, Yin would listen to Yin's advice, and he admitted that what Yin said was more reliable.
"Unrestrained? Your status is what it is, you should at least have some manners, Baoqing!" When Kangxi said the words "Baoqing," Yin's tiger eyes reddened. It had been many years since he had heard Kangxi call him that.
"Father..." Yin was worried that if he suddenly changed his style, it would cause the soldiers below to have all sorts of thoughts.
"You both experienced the fire at Changchun Garden. Have you ever thought about why? You've been hiding by the Crown Prince's side for five years. Can you two guarantee that there wasn't anyone like that around you?" Kangxi asked his two sons seriously.
Yin and Yin exchanged a glance and shook their heads. They were both examining their servants and had to admit that there were quite a few who had slipped through the net.
"Your Majesty, I cannot guarantee it, but I can only try my best to avoid it!" Yin said, straightening his chest.
Kangxi shook his head: "The servants of the Imperial Household Department will never be loyal to you once they see the benefits, so it's best to avoid that as much as possible. You should personally inspect them every now and then, especially those around the twins!"
He repeatedly emphasized the key points of the investigation: Kangxi had already given up on the Crown Prince, whose actions had saddened Kangxi.
Yin listened intently to Kangxi's teachings, silently considering how to avoid such a situation.
"Father, I dealt with her directly. If I were to give her to Songkri Yierha... wouldn't she be too young?" Yin doted on his daughter and was afraid that she would be harmed in the slightest.
"Can you stay with her for the rest of your life? If she encounters a similar situation in her husband's family in the future, how do you expect her to handle it?" Consort Hui asked directly.
