The carriage slowly came to a stop outside the village. The twins curiously looked at the world outside the carriage window. Qingyan used a sandalwood hairpin and two simple gold hairpins, which would be acceptable for a slightly wealthier family.
Hutu Lifeng Shengzha Lafen wore a light blue cotton winter cheongsam with a half-up collar, and a bright red vest over it. Her hair was styled in a traditional double bun, with a sandalwood hairpin on one side and a ruby-carved round blessing pendant on the top with gold wire.
As the little girl swayed her head, the two small "Fu" characters swayed in the air.
Yin and Yiken'e were dressed in light blue long gowns with royal blue embroidered bat vests over them. The two, one big and one small, had similar expressions, clothes, and faces. When they went out, everyone could recognize that they were father and son.
“Bayan is with us, and the accompanying guards are hidden among the people.” Yin picked up Hutulifengshengzhalafen. In such a crowded environment, Yin didn’t want the child to get lost. “Bayan, hold onto Yiken’e!”
Yin glanced at Qingyan, who was about to bend over, and then simply handed his son to Bayan.
"You stay here obediently. If you get lost, the servants of our manor will come!" Yin was really worried about Qingyan. Every time he went out, Qingyan would get lost for a while.
As soon as he finished speaking, Qingyan quickly nodded to indicate that he understood.
The family of four, along with Su Peisheng, Su Lan, Su Zhu, and Bayan, entered the market in a grand procession. In the village, many people glanced at the Yin family out of the corner of their eyes.
Even though their clothes were very simple, exactly the same as those of the people around them, their aura was undeniable, making the people around them seem instantly insignificant.
“Madam, look how beautiful your young lady is! She would be even more adorable with these little hair ornaments!” Hutuli Fengsheng Zhalafen patted Yin’s arm and led him directly to a small stall selling hair ornaments. Hutuli Fengsheng Zhalafen stretched out his chubby little hand, hoping to touch a pair of peach-shaped hairpins on the stall.
Qingyan followed the small hand of Hutuli Fengsheng Zhalafen and saw that the pair of peach-shaped hairpins were similar in style to the small "Fu" character on her head, but they differed greatly in craftsmanship and materials.
"Do you like it?" Yin asked, seeing that Hutuli Fengsheng Zhalafen was reluctant to put it down.
The mansion actually had many similar headdresses, but the one worn by Hutu Rifengsheng Zhalafen was much more exquisite than this pair.
"I like it!" Hutu Lifengsheng Zhalafen rarely called Yin "father" in public, so the little girl could only be shy.
"Shopkeeper, how much is this?" Qingyan quickly interrupted the father and daughter and asked.
"Fifteen copper coins for this pair!" The stall owner didn't inflate the price. The two headdresses were carved from rosewood, and although the color wasn't particularly pleasing, they had a certain rustic charm.
Bayan quickly stepped forward to pay, and Qingyan removed the small hairpin from Hutuli Fengsheng Zhalafen's head and replaced it with the pair of longevity peach hairpins.
The little girl's eyes instantly lit up with a smile, and Yiken nodded with a smile on his face. His little sister was really pretty.
"Son, what do you want?" Yin asked, seeing that his daughter was satisfied. He turned and left the stall, but as he turned, he saw Yiken and quickly asked her.
Yiken shook his head. The inner workshop had already prepared quite a lot of things, so he wouldn't buy anything from outside.
The Dragon and Phoenix styles of conduct are different. Yi Ken'e is more composed and restrains himself according to the rules, somewhat developing in the direction of Iceberg Four.
In contrast, Hutu Lifengsheng Zhalafen's banquet was more like a Qing banquet, more casual and unrestrained.
"Yiken'er, don't look so stern, give your mother a smile!" Qingyan noticed that Yiken'er seemed to dislike the terrible environment, so she leaned on Bayan's shoulder and hid her face.
When Yiken'e showed a look of disgust, he would never let outsiders see it. A moment later, Yiken'e looked up again, and he returned to his expressionless state.
"Mother, I don't want to!" Yiken'e just wanted to finish shopping as soon as possible. "Aren't we going to eat roast duck later?"
Yiken loves food, and as long as his appetite is satisfied, this little bit of depression can disappear immediately.
After saying that, Yin was speechless. His son had been tricked into becoming a foodie by Qingyan again, and he rolled his eyes at Qingyan twice.
"Of course, Mother keeps her word!" Qingyan said directly.
She only dared to say that because she heard people around her addressing her father and mother as "Father" and "Mother." Otherwise, for the safety of Yinzhi and his son, she would have kept the secret.
The market on the Winter Solstice is smaller than the one during the Lunar New Year; you can walk through it in an hour.
The twins found it rather boring, as it couldn't compare to the market during the Lunar New Year.
Back in the carriage, Qingyan handed the Luban lock he had secretly bought to Yiken'e. Yiken'e had been looking at the Luban lock for a long time at the stall, but he hadn't said a word. Qingyan noticed this and, not wanting her son to be disappointed, secretly bought it.
Yiken'e's phoenix eyes lit up when he saw the Luban lock in front of him. He looked at it a few more times and then bought it. He stood up and liked the Luban lock very much, but worried that Yin would think he was wasting his time on frivolous things, so he had to keep quiet.
"Yiken'e, next time if you see something you like, just say so. Look, Hutu Lifengsheng Zhalafen's is better than yours!" Yin didn't want his son to be too shy. If he liked something, he should not only strive for it himself, but also have self-awareness and know whether he could get it.
"Yes!" Yiken'e gripped the Luban lock tightly in his hand, a smile spreading across his face.
Yin watched as the two children huddled together, their little heads touching, discussing how to unlock the Luban lock.
The two children whispered to each other in front of them. Qingyan leaned on Yin's shoulder, looking at the children with loving eyes.
"Little darling, how are you feeling?" Yin asked with concern.
Qingyan nodded. The baby in her belly was quiet, sleeping all the time, which made Qingyan drowsy at any time.
"Fourth Brother, should we go to Dashilan to eat roast duck?" Qingyan asked, as Yin probably wouldn't allow the children to dine in the suburbs.
Yin nodded: "The situation here is difficult to control, but it's different over in Dashilan."
"I want to sleep for a while!" Qingyan sat in the swaying carriage, her eyes already starting to drowsy. "This child wants to sleep again!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Yin was both amused and exasperated. This child slept too much and didn't care where he was. In the end, Qingyan might fall asleep at any time.
"Okay, you rest for a while!" Yin patted her back and took out a silk quilt from the cabinet on the right to cover her up.
Upon hearing Yin's words, the twins lowered their voices to give Qingyan a sleeping environment.
