Chapter 337 Hafeng's Joy

Just after the hour of Chou (1-3 AM), chaos erupted outside Yinhe Qingyan's bedroom. Hafeng'a had developed a high fever. Upon hearing this, Su Peisheng dared not delay and quickly knocked on the door to prepare to go in.

"What's wrong?" Yin wasn't sleeping very soundly, and when he heard the knocking on the door, he asked.

"Master, Prince Hafeng has a fever!" Su Peisheng dared not say more. "This servant has already instructed Erlu to invite Imperial Physician Yuan over!"

Upon hearing this, Yin quickly woke Qingyan up. The child was sick, and if he didn't wake Qingyan, she would definitely cause trouble again.

"Little darling, Hafeng has a fever, wake up quickly," Yin whispered in her ear.

Qingyan instantly sobered up upon hearing this and quickly leaned close to her, whispering something to her. She opened her eyes and immediately rolled over and got up.

"Let's go take a look." Qingyan quickly got out of bed, put on a set of casual clothes, and slipped on some thousand-layer soles.

Yin followed behind her, and the two went to Hafeng'a's room together. The little guy's face was flushed with fever. Qingyan quickly walked to the side of the stroller and was about to hug Hafeng'a when he was stopped by Imperial Physician Yuan.

"Madam, blood scabs have been found under the young prince's blanket!" Physician Yuan's words brought tears to Qingyan's eyes.

She took two steps back, and Yin immediately hugged her.

"Are you sure he's contracted smallpox?" Yin noticed Hafeng's blanket and realized it had been replaced with a new one.

"We haven't found anything yet, but we found blood clots in the young prince's quilt. The young prince also has a fever, so this servant has to be on guard," Imperial Physician Yuan quickly reported.

"You wait in the side hall and discuss it with the other imperial physicians." Yin knew what was going on, so he waved his hand, dismissing all the servants in the room.

Qingyan quickly picked up Hafeng, who had been vaccinated against smallpox, so she wasn't afraid at all.

“Little darling, I had the Sticky Rod Office secretly vaccinate Hafeng A a couple of days ago, so it’s understandable that he has a fever!” Yin said in a low voice.

This was an unexpected turn of events. Blood scabs were found inside the quilt, and Yin immediately imprisoned all the servants who served Hafeng'a. Suzhu was also being interrogated.

"Where's Suzhu? She just arrived the day before yesterday, she should be fine." Qingyan prepared to pull Suzhu out.

"Have Erlu interrogate him, and come back later. Hafenga still needs people around him; the remaining servants won't do. They must be severely punished." Yin touched his son's little face; his forehead was burning hot.

"Let Imperial Physician Yuan bring down Hafeng'a's fever first. If he keeps having a fever, it's not good for the child. Let's seal off the courtyard." Qingyan carried Hafeng'a and walked back and forth.

She fed Hafenga a cup of diluted spiritual spring water, and the little guy gradually calmed down.

"Thank goodness, otherwise, Hafeng might have been in serious trouble." Yin was helpless, watching his son suffer, yet unable to do anything about it.

"Sisi, let's all surround the child." Qingyan had just put her son to sleep when Suzhu came over.

"Take good care of the young prince here. If there are any more problems, everyone will be beaten to death," Yin coldly ordered.

Yin and Qingyan left; they needed to discipline the servants.

"Little darling, will you stay with the child?" Yin didn't want Qingyan to see those bloody scenes again, so he hoped she would stay and take care of the child.

"No, I need to see who is trying to harm my child, Fourth Brother. I'm not being cruel, but those people want my child dead!" Qingyan looked at Yin. "Only you, the children, and my family are my bottom line. I don't care about anyone else!"

Qingyan's simple words put Yin in a great mood. He nodded and went over with Qingyan.

In the courtyard, Fei Yanggu and the others rushed over after learning that Hafeng Agao had a fever.

They entered the courtyard, and all the servants who served Hafeng knelt on the ground. The wet nurses were all beaten with boards by the people from the Trial Division.

When Fei Yanggu heard that there were smallpox scabs in Hafenga's blanket, he felt slightly relieved.

Previously, Yin had discussed with him that it would be best to vaccinate the child with smallpox as soon as he turned one month old, because if they were not careful, someone might harm Hafeng.

Yiken'e has always been protected by Emperor Kangxi, and very few people have been able to get their hands on him. Hafeng'a is different; this child has just turned one month old.

"Brother, sister-in-law, father-in-law, mother-in-law, and brothers-in-law, it's best not to go in. Hafeng'a has smallpox!" Yin Daiqing came out and stood on the steps, not intending to approach them.

"Sister-in-law, don't worry, we all have smallpox!" Yin contracted smallpox at the residence of the Yin Genjue Luo family, where he received excellent care.

Yin Genjue Luo nodded: "My father insisted that I go with him, and in the end, we both got it."

"Alright, Madam, you and Lady Ulanara go and see Hafeng'a. Let your sister-in-law stay outside and watch the interrogation with us." Yin was worried that the little guy would cause trouble; children this young who contracted smallpox usually couldn't survive.

"Sister-in-law, don't go in. You have to think about the baby in your belly. Mother, I'm leaving Hafeng'a to you!" Qingyan still had to protect the royal offspring.

Yin Genjueluo's situation is special; if she is allowed to enter, it will be troublesome if the child is not well.

“Princess Consort of Prince Zhi, what Xiao Guai said is absolutely right. Ha Feng’a is all right with me.” Jue Luo smiled and went straight into the inner chamber. Qing Yan was relieved. With her mother and Su Zhu around, Ha Feng’a should not be neglected.

Four armchairs were placed side by side on the stone steps. Fei Yanggu and his two sons sat behind the four of them. Yin twirled the thumb ring on his left thumb with his right hand, looking down at the tortured nannies.

"Tell me, how many people handled the prince's quilt?" Yin and Qingyan pretended to be anxious outside. Imperial Physician Yuan went into the inner chamber to take Hafeng'a's pulse again. With Qingyan's spiritual spring water, the little guy should be able to pull through.

Qingyan's almond-shaped eyes flashed with anger, but she couldn't show a trace of it on her face.

The old women knew that if the matter of the quilt wasn't investigated thoroughly, their entire families would be implicated.

"We really served you with all our might," the maids said, not daring to say more, and quickly begged for mercy.

Yin didn't speak, but stared at the several old women, who were clearly sent by the Imperial Household Department.

"Serve diligently. What's with the blood clots inside the blanket? I'm so kind as to bestow the young master's clothes and blankets as a reward. Each of you children will have one!" Yin was glad that Qingyan's actions had brought the families of these wet nurses over. Their husbands and children were being cared for in the military port, so if anything happened, they could be dealt with immediately.
