In the southern courtyard, Yin and Qingyan played with the children. Next to the rattan chairs they were sitting in was a cradle. Hafeng'a was placed in the cradle, watching his parents and older brothers and sisters play with curiosity. He would often make "ah ah" sounds.
"Fourth Prince, why hasn't Mother summoned us yet?" Qingyan couldn't understand why Consort Tong hadn't summoned them directly as usual.
Yin smiled and thought that if Kangxi and Consort Tong summoned them directly, it would be like roasting them on a hot stove.
"Think for yourself!" Yin presented this as a test for Qingyan. "Yiken, you think about it too!"
Yin did not shy away from Yiken'e, after all, Yiken'e represented the legitimate son of the Fourth Prince's mansion, and many people were preparing to take action against Yiken'e.
“Father, my uncles and aunts are just waiting to see what the Emperor does. If you are favored, they will come to you; if you are not as favored as before, they will go to someone else,” Yiken said directly.
"Little Darling, what's your opinion?" Yin asked.
Qingyan sat on the stone table, drawing patterns for Hutuli Fengsheng Zhalafen, all of which were to be given to Hutuli Fengsheng Zhalafen for embroidery.
"Mother, these embroidered items are so cute. But if I were to actually finish them, it would take a lot of time." Hutuli Fengsheng Zhalafen said with a mournful face.
Some of the designs Qingyan created were embroidered using various colored gold threads, which was a painstaking process.
"Pick one you like, just to pass the time!" Qingyan patted her daughter's head to help her relax.
Yin focused his attention on embroidery, designing new embroidery for each banquet, which delighted the maids in the Imperial Wardrobe.
Even if they don't get the painting patterns, they can still create even more paintings based on them.
“Father, how much longer will we have to stay here? When we get back to the naval port, I want to give these embroidery patterns to Sister Songkelierha,” Hutulifengshengzhalafen said, tilting his little head up.
Yin laughed: "Little darling, you see? We've only been gone a few days, and the little guy already misses it over there?"
Pfft!
Qingyan and Yiken'e both laughed. In the villa, Hutuli Fengsheng Zhalafen had no playmates, unlike in the military port where someone kept her company to pass the time.
"There are no playmates here, and the Cao family is going to send a noblewoman of marriageable age, but I refused." Yin's face darkened further. "I don't want my daughter to keep playing with servants!"
Very few of the princesses in the royal family were of marriageable age. Although Songkelierha and Hutulifengshengzhalafen were a few years apart in age, they were still able to talk to each other.
"Mother, I miss Sister Songkelierha too!" Yiken'e said, tilting her little head.
In front of his servants, Yiken'e's status was too important, and they couldn't let their guard down. Yiken'e wanted someone who could accompany him in getting into trouble.
“Not yet,” Yin said directly. “After we are summoned, we will have to stay in the south for several months before we can leave.”
With a stern face, Yiken asked, "Father, why isn't Grandfather seeing me? Has Yiken been naughty?"
Qingyan sat to the side, looking at Yiken'e's appearance, and couldn't help but find it amusing.
"Of course not, Grandfather is too busy!" Qingyan patted Yiken'e's little head. "When Grandfather has more free time, he will take you with him!"
Yiken lowered her head, looking unhappy.
"Yiken'e, don't you want to stay by your father and mother's side?" Qingyan asked gently.
“No, I feel very happy when I’m with my father and mother, but my grandfather once said that he would be unhappy if I don’t visit him often.” I asked, puzzled.
Sitting at the stone table, Qingyan listened to Yiken'e's words and felt a mix of emotions.
As Qingyan looked up, she saw Su Peisheng hurrying over from the doorway.
"Your Majesty, His Majesty summons you and has ordered the Princess Consort to take the young princes and princesses to the Imperial Concubine's palace," Su Peisheng quickly reported.
"Sulan, go and get some clothes for Yiken'e, Hutulifengshengzhalafendo, and also take all of Hafeng'a's belongings!" Qingyan doesn't like going out much these days.
Ever since Hafeng came along, he has to carry a lot of things every time he goes out; basically, half a carriage is filled with his stuff.
Half an hour later, Yin's carriage slowly left the villa and headed towards the imperial palace.
The princes who accompanied the emperor on his southern tour soon received the news that Yinzhi had been summoned.
They placed all their hopes on whether the twins could stay in the courtyard.
Qingyan held the twins' hands on either side, while the nanny behind her carried Hafeng.
After everyone bowed, Consort Tong pointed to the lower right seat and asked her to sit down first.
"Empress Hui, you look great today!" After Qingyan arrived, Consort Hui was also anxious to hear more news about Duoxihui.
"Yes, how is Doshihun? How is his health?" Consort Hui didn't even ask about Yin.
"Consort Hui, now that you have a grandson, you can abandon your sons." Consort Tong covered her mouth and laughed, while she leaned against Consort Tong on either side.
Qingyan suppressed a laugh, lowering her head so that Consort Tong and Consort Hui wouldn't see it.
“You are the same. Otherwise, why didn’t you look at the fourth prince, but instead looked at Yiken’e and Hafeng’a first?” Consort Hui retorted directly.
Consort Tong was speechless. How could she not understand why Consort Hui was so eloquent?
"That's why being a maternal grandfather and being a mother are so different!" Consort Tong exclaimed.
"Little darling, don't hold it in, laugh if you want to." Consort Hui chuckled. Since Doshihui came into her life, a huge weight had been lifted from her heart.
After Huifei relaxed, she looked at Yin Genjueluo's actions and thought that this daughter-in-law was not bad.
"Mother Hui, what are you saying? It's their good fortune that I like Yiken and the others!" Qingyan covered her mouth and laughed. "Duoxihun has grown up a lot, but my eldest brother doesn't like him very much!"
"Jealous again?" Consort Hui said helplessly. "Noble Consort, do you think Yin is going to have a good ending if he's even jealous of his own son?"
"Isn't this a common trait among them, father and sons? His Majesty is the same, and then there's Yin and Yin!" Consort Tong shook her head directly.
Pfft!
Consort Hui couldn't hold back any longer and burst out laughing. That's how it is with Emperor Kangxi. Whenever he sees Yin sticking to Consort Tong, he'll immediately give him a lot of homework.
"From now on, Yinzhi and his son will have plenty of trouble again!" Consort Hui rubbed her temples. "If they complain to me, I'll be in a difficult position!"
“Who says otherwise? Yiken’e even complained about the fourth prince last time. His Majesty and I were both in a difficult position, but he still protected the younger one more!” Consort Tong said with the air of someone who had been through it all.
