Instantly, the imperial tent fell silent. Could the Crown Prince be so foolish as to get involved in this matter?
Qingyan turned to look at Yin's face. His cold expression twitched slightly at the corners of his mouth, but he didn't say a word.
At this moment, Consort Tong looked intently at Emperor Kangxi. The Crown Prince was his most beloved son, even more favored than Yinzhen. Was Kangxi about to abandon her after more than a decade of careful nurturing?
"Father, the Crown Prince shouldn't do that. There's no profit to be made in that sales!" Yin believed that this was a trap set by someone to mislead people. If they actually believed it, they would make a huge fool of themselves.
Emperor Kangxi was well aware that, as the emperor, he certainly had to give the leaders an explanation for these matters.
"Fourth Prince, I'm entrusting this interrogation to you. How confident are you?" Kangxi hoped that Yinzhi and Fei Yanggu could get the information out of them, and at the very least, that the Crown Prince wouldn't bear the blame.
Yin looked up at Kangxi and couldn't help but feel a little discouraged. In both lifetimes combined, his father truly favored the Crown Prince, and he was still ranked behind the Crown Prince by his father.
Shouldn't we have expected this scene?
Yin smiled helplessly; he still had expectations for his father, the Emperor.
"Yes, Your Majesty, I will do my best." Yin had no choice but to agree, with Fei Yanggu assisting him from the side.
"Little darling, you go and listen too. If my prediction is correct, it should concern the harem!" Consort Tong was unhappy that Kangxi was always letting Yin slip away, so she was naturally in a bad mood.
Kangxi touched his nose. Consort Tong was really angry. Oh well, he should think about how to appease her first.
Only after the two little figures left the imperial tent did they truly breathe a sigh of relief. The matter was not over yet; there would be more trouble to come.
"Fourth Brother, let's go find Father first!" Qingyan sensed something was wrong. How did Kangxi know that there was a waist token from Yuqing Palace?
Was it a man in black, or a guard?
One question after another popped into Qingyan's little head, making it quite chaotic.
"Little darling, don't go over there!" Yin was worried that something unsavory might happen during the interrogation.
Little Guai is too young; seeing those things will frighten her to some extent.
"No, since it concerns the Qing Dynasty, I must do my part!" Qingyan stubbornly followed behind Yin.
The two spent the entire afternoon in the dark tent. Su Peisheng and Su Lan brought their dinner to the back of the tent so that Fei Yanggu could eat with them.
After dinner, Qingyan leaned wearily against the armchair. She had spent the entire afternoon reading the interrogation records. No torture scenes were performed in front of her. Eshuo and Saito were quite restrained in front of Qingyan.
“Father, we need to be extra vigilant tonight. I think things might change!” Fei Yanggu felt a chill run down his spine upon hearing Qingyan’s words.
The outside world must have known about the huge commotion of shutting down a major battle.
"At the very least, we can't let them kill us to cover it up." Qingyan tried hard to recall the scenes from TV shows. He had to admit that those dramas gave him a lot of inspiration.
"Obstruction?" Yin looked at Qingyan in confusion. "The servants inside the secret tent would never dare to betray their master."
Yin was speechless, genuinely feeling that Qingyan's worries were somewhat unnecessary.
"Father, can you really guarantee everyone's safety?" Qingyan didn't look at all the servants, but there were a few who seemed a bit off.
Fei Yanggu looked at his daughter in astonishment. He certainly couldn't guarantee everyone's safety. Among them were people personally dispatched by Emperor Kangxi. How could these people possibly have problems?
Later, Fei Yanggu and Yin pondered Qingyan's meaning and felt that Qingyan's concerns were justified; they couldn't guarantee that Qingyan wouldn't betray them.
Even among Kangxi's loyal followers, there would be one or two who were related by marriage. A few words from their relatives would be more beneficial than those from Emperor Kangxi himself.
At this moment, Fei Yanggu wouldn't trust anyone; he still believed he was the most reliable person.
“Father-in-law, Xiao Guai is right. No one can say for sure whether there are any troublemakers among these people. It wouldn’t hurt to be careful.” Yin trusted Xiao Guai’s intuition.
Their previous escapes unscathed were largely due to Xiao Guai's sixth sense; therefore, Yin hoped Fei Yanggu would heed Qing Yan's advice. Being more cautious was certainly the right thing to do.
"Fourth brother, do you think Qingyan's prediction was correct?" Fei Yanggu dared not make a decision on his own and thought it would be better to communicate with Kangxi first.
“Father-in-law, Xiao Guai’s intuition is very accurate. Several times we were saved by Xiao Guai’s intuition.” Yin did not hide anything. Fei Yanggu was also aware of some of Qing Yan’s little tricks.
What outsiders don't know is that if no one comes to silence them, the blame... will definitely fall on Qingyan.
The imperial censors who followed would not let this opportunity pass, and at that time, Qingyan's situation would be at its worst.
"Don't worry, father-in-law, I will personally issue the order this time." He understood Fei Yanggu's meaning all too well and directly took on this responsibility.
Fei Yanggu nodded. If Yin could take responsibility, he wouldn't say anything more.
Later that day, Yin found Tulichen and explained his purpose directly.
Tu Lichen's eyes flashed upon hearing this. His Majesty was worried that the Fourth Prince might not have thought of it. He had just planned to nag him a bit after dinner, but unexpectedly, the Fourth Prince brought it up himself.
That's enough!
His mission was accomplished. In addition to cooperating with Fei Yanggu, he also had a team of shadow guards stationed around the secret tent to protect Fei Yanggu, Yin, and Qingyan.
"Lord Ulanara, I entrust the Fourth Prince to you!" Tulichen had to rush back to protect His Majesty, so he could only entrust the safety of Yin to Feiyanggu.
