The two short days were an ordeal for Qingyan. Many of the ingredients transported from the capital were intercepted, and outsiders assumed they were from bandits in the mountains.
From Emperor Kangxi to Emperor Qingyan, everyone knew that those were just excuses used by certain behind-the-scenes manipulators.
As midnight approached, Qingyan was wide awake. She wanted to curse herself for all the bizarre things that had happened to her, whether it was the expedition or this trip to Jiangnan.
"Come here and copy the Paramita Sutra to calm yourself down!" Yin noticed that Qingyan was a bit irritable, so he personally supervised Qingyan as he copied the Buddhist scriptures. If nothing happened after midnight, they would be completely safe.
She sat in Yin's lap, her right hand held tightly by him, as she carefully wrote the Paramita Sutra, her mind calming down from its previous chaos.
"After you finish writing, let's go rest!" Yin's voice had a hypnotic effect on her.

The next morning, Qingyan blinked her bewildered eyes, looked at Mou Si beside her, pouted, her little mouth made a decision, turned her small body around, pulled the silk quilt over her head, and regarded Mou Si as the biggest distraction.
Pfft!
Yin chuckled. When the little girl first woke up, she was still as adorable as before the wedding. He pulled off her blanket, held her face still, and leaned down to bite her pink lips.
"You stinky bastard!" Qingyan pushed away the kiss from the bastard, glared at him angrily, and then suddenly remembered that she had been copying Buddhist scriptures until she fell asleep, so she rolled her eyes at him again.
He hugged the blanket to his chest and burst into laughter.
"Hurry up and wash up, we can get off the boat now." Yin knew that Xiao Guai must be bored out of her mind. Fei Yanggu and his two sons had basically searched the kitchen and taken away everything that was edible.
real?!
Qingyan's eyes lit up. Lately, apart from night fishing, there hadn't been anything late at night, and he'd even made several purses.
"Sulan, Sulan, come in quickly!" He jumped off the bed and cheerfully called for Sulan to come in and serve him.
Yin shook his head. His little darling was just that cute, much better than those women who sat around doing nothing.
An hour later, Qingyan, wearing embroidered soles, walked on the stone steps. The feeling of stepping on the ground was wonderful.
These past few days, she has not only been anxious, but the feeling of being rocked on the small boat has also made her unable to feel at ease.
"Sisi, look over there, there's a place selling morning tea!" Qingyan looked around and spotted many stalls selling Jiangnan delicacies.
Yin Ze walked behind her with a frown. It was strange that the small vendors in this county town were so wealthy. Not only were all their goods new, but their clothes also fit them well, and their figures were quite good. It was hard to compliment them.
"Skin-wrapped water? Crab roe soup dumplings?!" Qingyan's eyes lit up, her attention completely diverted by the food, and she didn't notice anything amiss.
Qingyan pulled Yin into the shop, where a few people eating breakfast were clearly not normal-looking.
"Little darling, should we go to another shop?" Cao Yin must have cleared out the people in the county. He couldn't be sure of their identities, so how could he dare leave her here?
She looked at him in confusion, then immediately shook her head.
"I want to eat!" Qingyan ordered six crab roe buns, two steamed buns wrapped in dough, and a bowl of tofu pudding to be ordered from outside.
Breakfast was served quickly; in less than the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, the steaming hot breakfast was on the table. Ignoring Qingyan's puzzled look, Su Peisheng immediately started tasting the food.
Stacks of side dishes were placed in front of her. Su Peisheng's careful handling made her feel uncomfortable. She had previously instructed him to reduce these formalities when pretending to be from a wealthy family.
She swayed back and forth and noticed that the chairs in the shop were all new, and even the plates were different from those in other small shops she had seen before.
For a moment, she hesitated. She poked a small hole in the crab roe soup dumpling she picked up. As she drank the delicious soup, she felt a surge of emotion. This must have been a chef from Jiangnan.
"Use it, we'll need to buy other things later!" Yin pretended not to know. Kangxi also disembarked. For the emperor's safety, Cao Yin's actions were not excessive.
He gave a bitter smile, seemingly implying that even an emperor who possesses the empire lacks the most basic freedom.
After breakfast, there were not many pedestrians on the street. Although some ordinary people were buying things, she had no interest in shopping at all.
The shops on both sides of the street were open. She browsed through two shops and noticed that the shopkeepers and clerks were very nervous, their voices trembling.
Qingyan immediately pouted, realizing it was all pre-arranged.
"Fourth, this is so boring. Apart from the shopkeepers and other people, there are no ordinary people here." Qingyan nudged Yin's arm. The streets were too quiet and clean, lacking the lively atmosphere of a typical small county town.
Every shop sign had a black background with red lettering; no two were any different, which made Qingyan somewhat exasperated.
"You pick out your things first!" Yin reassured Qingyan, who was a little agitated, telling her not to worry too much.
The little one will be happier once everything is bought.
Qingyan pouted and looked down at the dried bamboo shoots on the stall. These looked much cleaner than the ones dried by farmers.
The ones she prepared before were all used for soup, and the ones she's buying this time... might not taste good.
"Let's go to that store!" Qingyan looked at the items in the basket and wasn't satisfied. She got up and went directly to the corner where they had been waiting.
When she looked up, she noticed a corner of coarse cloth at the corner and figured it must be real farmers coming out to do business.
