Chapter 434 The Crown Prince's Defense

As dawn broke, the servants in Changchun Garden began to busy themselves. Emperor Kangxi and several princes had stayed up all night, discussing how to close the net that day.

Yin returned to his inner chambers, preparing to change into his golden-yellow casual clothes to accompany Kangxi to the Hesheli clan's residence.

Fei Yanggu and his son had arrived at Changchun Garden. When Kangxi saw Fei Yanggu, he inquired about the situation in the military camp.

Those generals who were with Hesheli were all imprisoned. Feiyanggu and his son interrogated Yizhengye, and today, after reporting back to Kangxi, they stayed behind alone.

"Father-in-law!" Yin entered the study and saw Fei Yanggu sitting at the head of the table.

"Fourth Prince, why are you up so early!" Kangxi, dressed in a bright yellow casual robe, sat upright in his seat.

"Is Xiao Guai awake?" Fei Yanggu glanced at Yin.

Yin shook his head: "She had just fallen asleep when I got back last night."

"Li Dequan, pass on the word: the women should go along too." The Guarjia clan members were also eager to go. Fei Yanggu was alright, but the other princes were not so discreet.

"!" Li Dequan accepted the order and left. Yin lowered his head, the corners of his mouth slightly upturned. Xiao Guai was definitely going to be grumpy again when he woke up.

"Fourth Prince, go and wake Qingyan up!" Kangxi knew about Qingyan's minor quirks and thought they were harmless and didn't matter much.

"Yes!" Yin replied somewhat helplessly.

In the inner chamber, Qingyan was already sitting up in a daze. The bed next to her was already empty. She sat on the bed with the blanket, slowly coming back to her senses.

"Little darling, why did you get up?" When Yin came back, he saw Qingyan sitting there, staring blankly at her pillow.

"Where did you go?" Qingyan was not fully awake, and her voice was slightly coquettish.

"Father said that you will all be going with him," Yin said, sitting on the bed and looking at Qingyan.

Ugh!

Upon hearing Yin's words, Qingyan immediately snapped out of her daze. She certainly didn't want to get involved in the affairs of Yuqing Palace.

"Fourth Prince, I don't want to go there. It must be to Yuqing Palace, right?" She didn't like what the Crown Princess was saying. If she went there, they would definitely start arguing.

"No, the Crown Prince will be coming today with his Crown Princess!" Yin said solemnly. "Father Emperor is also sending the twins."

Qingyan frowned slightly, really not wanting the little ones to go over there.

"Master, can we not let the children go over?" Qingyan asked Yin while having Sulan help him put on his regular clothes.

Yin shook his head: "Even Songkrilha must go!"

Kangxi clearly wanted his children to understand that if anyone dared to cross the royal family's bottom line, no matter who it was, they would not be forgiven.

Qingyan quickly washed and dressed, and followed Yin to the dining room, where the twins were already seated.

"Father, Mother, why are you dressed so formally today?" Yiken asked curiously, holding a five-ingredient bag.

Yin glanced at Yiken'e, disbelieving that the little guy didn't know what had happened.

"Eat first!" Qingyan stopped her, saying that Yiken wanted to eat something good first.

After the family had breakfast, they boarded the carriage together. Su Zhu stayed at Yuanmingyuan to take care of Hafeng Ale.

"Mother, what are we going to do today?" Yiken asked Qingyan directly.

Qingyan froze as he poured the tea, glancing at Yin, preparing to let him speak.

"When we get to Changchun Garden, you must listen carefully and not offer any random opinions!" Yin glanced at Yiken'e and said directly.

"Father, is it something disobedient?" Yiken asked curiously.

Yin nodded: "Yes, so you can't get involved too much, understand?"

Royal children learn from a young age to gather information from servants, compile it, and develop their own ideas.

“Father, of course I know, even Guo Luoma has returned!” When Yiken’e saw Fei Yanggu returning with him, he knew that things must be serious.

The carriage slowly came to a stop. After the family got off the carriage, the entire family, including Yin and his wife, Yinxiang and Yin, sat in the flower hall to wait.

"Yiken'e, come here first." Kangxi beckoned to Yiken'e and began to test Yiken'e's studies.

Apart from Yin, the other princes who were listening were all very surprised.

At Yiken'e's age, his role in the Imperial Study was merely to impart some basic knowledge.

Yiken'e, however, progressed much faster than others, even acquiring more knowledge than his grade level.

A quarter of an hour later, Kangxi nodded in satisfaction and took out a very exquisitely carved jade pendant from his purse. On the front of the pendant was the character "晔".

"Alright, here's the reward for this time!" Kangxi noticed that Yiken'e really liked jade, so he would prepare a reward for him after each test.

"Thank you, Mafa!" Yiken'e bowed respectfully, then threw herself into Kangxi's arms and planted two kisses on his dragon face.

This scene was witnessed by Yin, who had entered the courtyard. In his memory, Kangxi would never have acted with such affection.

"Alright, go sit with your mother!" Kangxi noticed Yin and quickly coaxed Yiken'e to go to Qingyan's side.

Yin walked in, followed by the Crown Princess and Consort Li. Surprisingly, Hongxi came along as well.

Hongxi saw that Yiken'e was being held in Kangxi's arms, and felt a little sad. Before, he was the only third generation who could be taught by Kangxi. Now that Yiken'e had come, he had never been taught by Kangxi again.

"Alright, let's start kowtowing." Kangxi's face was very bad; Hongxi had been acting somewhat nonsensically lately.

Hongxi stood beside Consort Li, his head bowed, not letting anyone see his eyes.

"Baocheng, I have read your memorial. Are you sure you want to treat Hesheli like this?" Kangxi glanced at Yin.

"Yes!" Yin understood that this was the last time. If he didn't get rid of the Hesheli clan, the future would definitely be even more difficult. They were just using their status to amass wealth.

He tried to persuade Suo Xiang many times, but to no avail.

"Father, I have tried to persuade Prime Minister Suo, but to no avail. I rarely come out of the palace, so it is really difficult for me to fully grasp how they act in my name outside." The Crown Prince also felt aggrieved.

He learned about those excessive things and would sometimes try to make amends, though he was often unaware of many of them.

"Is that so?" Kangxi looked on coldly. The children sat obediently on their mothers' laps, staring wide-eyed at her, not daring to say anything more.

"Yes, I know, we will definitely take remedial measures afterward," Yin quickly replied.

Upon receiving Emperor Kangxi's summons, he understood what he might be facing.
