After dinner, Qingyan finally breathed a sigh of relief, her tense nerves from the whole day finally relaxed.
Large vats containing icebergs were placed in the four corners of the cabin. These were specially prepared for Emperor Kangxi. After the imperial kitchen and the ships that had been purchased were sunk, it was a disaster for the southward journey.
Most importantly, they were unable to disembark and replenish their supplies quickly, as the fleet was traveling through small county towns that simply could not support such a large volume of purchases.
Only the place we arrived at on the fourth day was a slightly larger county town.
The imperial chefs were very stubborn and insisted on their own opinions. They couldn't refute Qingyan. Qingyan could make it with the available raw materials, but they had no way to do so.
“We might have to lend some of our food to the eldest brother!” Yin pulled at his collar and whispered to her, “The imperial chefs wouldn’t dare, they insist on preparing so many ingredients.”
Qingyan had been cheated on, and her things were prepared little by little. Yin always said she was like a little mouse hiding food, but now he just told her to give them up with a single sentence.
"No way!" Qingyan resolutely refused, her expression even more determined.
Yin was unsure of himself; he wasn't a pushover, and in front of his father, the Emperor, he had to maintain a strong brotherly bond.
"Little darling... we can't stop the boat here." Yin explained helplessly, a bitter smile appearing on his face.
"Let those people figure it out themselves. You tell the First Prince that they definitely won't do anything if you don't force them." Having just married into the royal family, she was very easy to talk to and, like the First Prince, often did what the servants wanted.
As time went on, she realized something was wrong. The servants were not only preparing things for their masters, but they were also skimping on their own supplies.
Upon hearing this, Yin became even angrier. These servants deserved to die!
He got up and repeatedly told Qingyan that she was absolutely not allowed to leave the cabin again, then left with Su Peisheng.
Qingyan lowered her head, embroidering the unfinished purse, her little mouth pouting.
snort!
That damned imperial chef has taken a lot of things from her private kitchen. People who are bestowed by Emperor Kangxi cannot be punished unless they commit patricide.
As if shielded, the imperial chefs not only did not restrain themselves, but became even more rampant.
She flipped through her ledger and found that many of the items she brought were missing, this...
Fortunately, the newly purchased food was not something the imperial chefs would approve of; otherwise, she really wouldn't have known how to survive the next two days.
At night, the canal was very quiet. The imperial boats sailed on the canal, and the people on both banks occasionally noticed that the bright lanterns lit up the canal illuminated the nearby waters as if it were daytime. This brightly lit dragon slowly moved forward.
Bored, she opened the window on the right and watched as the boat slowed down. She reached for a fishing rod, put a small bait on it, and cast it into the canal. A while later, she lifted the rod, only to find the hook empty, without any bait.
"Master, we can't catch any fish. Last night, the guards all tried, but it didn't work!" Su Lan complained to Qing Yan that the fleet was moving too fast, causing the bait to drift away with the current.
She sighed. The list that Su Lan handed her made her uneasy, and she had to think carefully about what to do next.
etc!
Qingyan remembered that there was a fishing net in the small storeroom of her space. She thought that if she went to the dense forest to hunt and found a small stream, she could catch some small fish to play with.
Now, she could use this to rummage through some things. She ran to the mahogany chest in her embroidered shoes. There were Qingyan's toys scattered around. After rummaging through it for a while, she took out a white bag.
She took out a green net, put all the bait she had bought from her space into it, threw it out the window, tied the rope of the net to a nail on the window, and looked on with anticipation, hoping to catch some fish.
It doesn't matter how small the item is, as long as it can provide some supplementary items.
Around nine o'clock, Yin returned from outside and saw Qingyan leaning against the window, her eyes occasionally shining. Puzzled, he walked over to her side and saw that the little one finally looked happy.
"Little darling, let's take a break!" Yin looked at a small nail on the window with a rope underneath it.
"Let's go night fishing!" Qingyan leaned against Yin, who was sitting behind her, with a smile on her face. She felt more at ease knowing she had something.
Yin was speechless. Xiao Guai was daydreaming again. There was very little stuff in the canal. The fleet slowed down at night, but it was still a challenge for night fishing.
However, she turned her head away haughtily, ignoring Yin's words, and focused her eyes on the rope. Her little face tightened, and she quickly grabbed the fishing net that had entered the water. Sure enough, there were many lively fish in the net. She threw them onto the deck of the boat at the door, and Qingyan quickly went out.
Yin followed closely behind, and after observing the lights, he had to admit that Xiao Guai's night fishing skills were indeed superior to theirs.
The fishing net contained catfish and eels, which were Qingyan's favorites, as well as some crucian carp.
"Great! This is just enough for one dish. Sisi, we don't need to reduce the number of dishes!" Qingyan clapped her hands happily. "Sulan, jump the crucian carp out, and put the rest in the kitchen to keep them alive. The day after tomorrow, we'll have a whole fish feast for lunch!"
Qingyan saw that the fishing net was empty and decided to try again later, otherwise she would really be unwilling to give up.
"Hmph, didn't you say there were no fish?" Qingyan wrinkled her little face, rolling her eyes with a haughty expression.
