Surrounding the Lifanyuan (Court of Colonial Affairs) were the residences of Mongolian princes and dukes in Beijing. Inside one of the princes' residences was a five-courtyard house with its main gate already open. At the entrance of the courtyard, a large red garland was hanging.
Guo Luoluo sent her maidservants, who had accompanied her, to the gate of the mansion to await Qingyan's arrival.
The carriage slowly came to a stop at the second gate. Qingyan and her two children got off the carriage, and Guoluoshi, dressed in a bright red Mongolian robe, came out to greet them.
"Fourth Sister-in-law, you've finally arrived!" Guo Luoluo's face was beaming with a happy smile. Qingyan hadn't seen her laugh so unrestrainedly in a long time.
Yiken'e glanced around carefully. This place had gray walls and green tiles, and it belonged to a prince. Therefore, it was probably not wrong for Yiken'e to call Guoluo's wife "Auntie".
"Yiken'e is very clever!" Guoluo nodded in satisfaction. "Sister-in-law, let's go to the bigger one first. Master is waiting there."
"Is he good to you?" Qingyan looked at Guo Luoluo's face and felt slightly relieved.
Many people say that although the princes of Mongolia are rugged, they care a lot about their female relatives.
"Yes, at least he treats me much better than the Eighth Prince. He doesn't just rush back to his study; a few days ago, after he left, he even accompanied me shopping!" Lady Guoluo felt quite satisfied. "He is the heir apparent of the Khorchin Left Wing Prince, and his blood relation to the Empress Dowager is slightly closer. His Majesty hopes that Your Highness can stay in the capital!"
Qingyan nodded. This man was not bad; his identity was quite surprising.
"Tulerguri greets the Fourth Prince's wife!" A 30-year-old Mongol Khan, dressed in a royal blue Mongol robe, bowed directly to Qingyan, "Greetings to Prince Yiken'e, and to Princess Hutulifengsheng Zhalafen."
"Let's get started." Qingyan sized up Tulegul, a typical Mongolian man with a resolute face and a pair of amber eyes beneath thick, dark eyebrows.
"Fourth Princess Consort, this servant will take the young prince to the study!" Following Guo Luoluo's advice, Tuligu Ri did not treat Yiken'e as a child, but directly as an adult.
Qingyan glanced at Yiken'e, and the little guy's serious expression made Guoluoshi rub his cheek.
"Yiken'e, don't you want to chat with your aunt?" Guoluoshi bent down and looked at Yiken'e.
"Auntie, I don't want to chat with the women," Yiken said, straightening her small chest.
Ha ha!
Guo Luoluo burst into laughter; the little guy in front of her was just too adorable.
"Don't let him play with your swords," Guoluo gave her a worried reminder before Tulegul left with Yiken'e.
Looking at Guo Luoluo's relaxed appearance, Qingyan felt a pang of emotion. It was as if she had returned to the time when they first met. Fei Yanggu took Qingyan to practice horseback riding. At the horse farm, there was a princess dressed in a bright red riding outfit who, under Yue Le's tutelage, had excellent riding skills.
What Qingyan thought about most was that bright smile. Ever since she married into the royal family, Guo Luoluo seemed to have forgotten how to smile.
"I think he treats you well?" After Qingyan and the other person sat down, Hutuli Fengsheng Zhalafen said she wanted to stroll in the garden, and Guoluoluo quickly asked Ximei, who was beside her, to take her for a walk.
"Sister-in-law, don't worry. There are no Mongol princes in my courtyard. If you don't work hard, who do you expect to bump into at the mansion?" Guo Luoluo sneered disdainfully. She would never push her nieces into a fire pit.
Qingyan laughed heartily: "Don't I trust you?"
After Hutuli Fengsheng Zhalafen left, Qingyan noticed Guoluo's gossipy expression and asked about the current Eighth Prince's wife.
"Why did you suddenly ask that?" Qingyan asked curiously.
Since the divorce, Guo Luoluo had never intended to have any further involvement with the Eighth Prince's residence. On the day of the wedding, Guo Luoluo did not send out many invitations to her sisters-in-law, feeling that since she had chosen to leave, she should not disturb them.
Halfway through the wedding, the Eighth Prince's mansion unexpectedly sent a dowry, which Guo Luoluo found laughable.
"No way!" Qingyan was stunned. That person actually gave the gift so openly.
Qingyan tried hard to recall, but the Eighth Prince hadn't made any particularly big moves recently. If he had disrupted the Eighth Prince's plans, Yinsi would probably have made trouble.
"Yes, isn't it strange?" Guo Luoluo laughed. Yin Si could even have a woman like that.
"Hehe, just consider it a gift of money." Even if Qingyan sent the dowry, she did so secretly at Prince An's residence, not here.
"I won't take it. Who knows when those things came from? I've managed the manor before, and looking at those things, they're clearly part of that person's allowance!" Guo Luoluo sneered. "Could it be that the Jue Luo clan really didn't provide a decent dowry?"
“Of course, the jewelry she uses from Linglong Pavilion now was given to her by my mother!” Qingyan said helplessly. “Just now, Hutuli Fengsheng Zhalafen said that this woman was already very arrogant before she married into the royal family, and even talked about Hutuli Fengsheng Zhalafen in Linglong Pavilion.”
"What?!" Guo Luoluo loved the twins the most. From the beginning, she hoped that the twins would bring her good fortune and children. Now, she has always hoped to treat the two children as her own.
“Hutuli Fengsheng Zhalafen came back crying that day, saying that she was the ledger and it was only right for the twins to show her respect,” Qingyan said.
As soon as she finished speaking, Guo Luoluo's face darkened. How could she say such a thing? How rude of her!
"It seems that Granny Guoluo will have to teach these rules properly!" Guoluo said with a cold laugh.
"That's what I was thinking too. I'll tell Mother when we go to pay our respects!" Qingyan nodded. "Are you planning to stay in the capital?"
"His Majesty won't let us leave these next few years!" Guo Luoluo said helplessly. "I don't want to attend the women's banquets so often; who knows what those people might say!"
"Then don't go. What's the point of participating in those things? It's a waste of time!" Qingyan said coldly.
“I’m at peace now. As long as Tulegul is good to me, I don’t care about anything else!” Guoluo said. “If we could have a child, it would be even more perfect!”
For many years, Guo Luoluo had been hoping to have a child. When it came time for the divorce, Guo Luoluo was glad that she didn't have a child, otherwise, she really wouldn't have been able to get a divorce!
"It will definitely happen, it's just not the right time yet!" Qingyan said directly.
Guo Luoluo smiled and said, "I hope what you said is right, sister-in-law. Tulegu Ridao doesn't care and says to let nature take its course!"
Tulegu once said that she had liked him even before she was married, and that she shouldn't have had to suffer those grievances if she hadn't spent two days playing with the marriage proposal.
