Chapter 512 The Twins Acting Cute

Inside the Hall of Diligent Governance, Emperor Kangxi and Consort Tong sat in a side hall, waiting for the children to arrive. Su Peisheng knelt on the gold bricks and relayed Yiken'e's request. A smile appeared on Emperor Kangxi's face.

"Lanya, look at Yiken, she's thinking quite a lot!" Kangxi felt very proud, believing that his teaching was the best.

"Yes, it's all thanks to His Majesty's excellent guidance!" Consort Tong quickly flattered. "Your Majesty, what should we do?"

"There's no need to hide anything; we still need to care about Yiken'e," Kangxi said directly.

Kangxi was well aware of Yiken'e's little scheme; he simply wanted to escape those bitter "medicines." He wanted Yiken'e to understand that an emperor must be in control of the overall situation.

"Alright." With just one sentence from Kangxi, Consort Tong understood.

The family of four arrived at the door. Yin and Qingyan stepped inside, followed by two small figures who moved step by step toward the side hall.

After the four men bowed, Kangxi quickly instructed them to rise and kowtow.

"Yiken'e, are you feeling better?" Kangxi asked directly.

Yiken'e turned to look at Yin. Didn't you say you wouldn't let Grandfather know?

"Stop looking. Your father and mother came with you, and they didn't say anything!" Kangxi smiled. "It was Imperial Physician Yuan and Grandfather who reported back!"

Yiken sighed in frustration and patted his forehead with his right hand.

“Grandpa, it’s not that I don’t want to report the truth, it’s just that I feel that you have a lot to do, and I would feel bad if you were to trouble yourself again!” Yiken said quickly.

After Yinhe and Qingyan took their seats, Kangxi and Consort Tong beckoned to the twins, and the two little ones ran over.

Kangxi picked up Yiken'e and sat him on his lap, then looked down at Yiken'e.

“You are sick. Your grandfather will be even more worried if he finds out. Do you want him to be worried?” Kangxi stopped Yinzhi from speaking to Yiken’e.

The child meant well, but just didn't use the right method.

“No, I hope Your Majesty will not worry,” Yiken said directly.

"That's right. Imperial Physician Yuan will take care of your health. If anything is wrong, you must cooperate with Imperial Physician Yuan, understand?" Kangxi pinched Yiken'e's little nose, and Yiken'e immediately wilted.

Yiken'e could not disobey his parents, and he had to set a good example for his younger sister. He could only act spoiled in front of Emperor Kangxi and Consort Tong.

“Mafa, Yiken’e is completely healed. Otherwise, let Physician Yuan make a list of medicinal diets for me?” Yiken’e said, looking up. He really didn’t like eating those pills.

"Why?" Consort Tong asked, looking at Yiken'e.

“Grandma, those pills taste terrible. I ate them after lunch, and my mouth still tastes bitter.” Yiken complained directly, “I should have asked Physician Yuan to give me pills instead, otherwise it would have been a bowl of dark Chinese medicine.”

Yiken complained aggrievedly, and Kangxi laughed unkindly, saying that Imperial Physician Yuan was only doing it for their own good.

"After taking the pills, are you feeling better?" Kangxi asked Yiken'e directly.

Yiken nodded. His fever had subsided yesterday, and he felt much better. But having to take pills today made him feel uneasy.

"Hutulifengsheng Zhalafen, what do you think?" Kangxi asked the little girl.

Hutu Lifengsheng Zhalafen's face was still a little pale. Kangxi looked at her gently and lowered his voice a lot, afraid of frightening the little one.

"Mafa, I want to take the bitter 'medicine'. Mother said that's how I'll get better!" Hutulifengsheng Zhalafen didn't have as many demands as her brother.

Consort Tong patted the little girl's head: "Hutulifengshengzhalafen is right. Your body is not as strong as Yiken'e's. You must get proper treatment when you are sick, right? We are not like Yiken'e."

Hutuli Fengsheng Zhalafen nodded directly: "Grandma is right!"

After the twins were born prematurely, Qingyan took even better care of Hutuli Fengsheng Zhalafen. Although Hutuli Fengsheng Zhalafen was as healthy as a normal child, her health was still very poor.

Whenever a similar situation occurs, Hutu Lifengsheng Zhalafen will definitely fall ill.

“Mafa, I’m very good, but Ahhun is not!” Hutuli Fengsheng Zhalafen said, looking up.

Kangxi glanced sideways at Hutuli Fengsheng Zhalafen, wondering what she could say.

"Little girl, tell Grandfather what you ate today?" Kangxi chatted with Hutuli Fengsheng Zhalafen.

Qingyan sat down beside her, listening to her daughter's clear voice, and felt that the torment of yesterday was truly gone.

"You haven't rested all night, have you?" Consort Tong looked at the deep shadows under Yinhe and Qingyan's eyes and knew that the children had a high fever, so the two of them must not have been able to sleep.

"Hmm," Yin replied curtly.

"Hafeng, have you not been infected?" Consort Tong asked, looking at Yin.

"No, after discovering that Hutulifengsheng Zhalafen had a fever, we immediately took Hafenga to another room, where the head nanny is taking care of him," Yin said directly.

"You handled it very well!" Consort Tong praised. "If it's not working, send Hafeng'a to me."

"No need, we can take care of them. Father and you need to meet with ministers and their families, so it would be inconvenient if the children were with you." Yin shook his head.

Consort Tong smiled and said, "Hafeng'a is here, but he didn't stop me from meeting those people!"

"Mother, both children are well now," Yin said, unable to bear the constant pestering from Consort Tong.

Pfft!

Consort Tong laughed unkindly, finally able to see a different side of Yin.

"Mother is just teasing you!" Qingyan suppressed her laughter, her little face turning red.

Empress Dowager Yin was speechless. Consort Tong's wicked joke was really unacceptable!

"Fourth son, you're already a father, yet you still don't know how to behave properly!" Kangxi shook his head and said.

Yin was exasperated. If Kangxi and Consort Tong joined forces, he was bound to lose.

"Father, please give your son some face," Yin said with dissatisfaction.

Qingyan lowered her head, pretending not to know anything.

"Alright, I'll give you some face!" Kangxi relented.

The twins covered their mouths and laughed. The atmosphere in the side hall was harmonious. Kangxi took lychees from the kang table and peeled them for Yiken'e.

"Has the news been blocked?" Kangxi asked, looking at Yin.

"Yes, I've already given the instructions." Since Yin had Su Peisheng give the instructions, there certainly wouldn't be any problems.

"We just held a ceremony to honor our ancestors yesterday, and news of their illness spread that very night. People will have something to hold against them. However, it's not just the twins who are sick, so that's not a problem!" Kangxi told him about the children's condition.
