As noon approached, Qingyan led the women back to the private room of the Yuelai Inn. The men were chatting, and the wives took their seats next to their husbands, listening to their conversation.
"Fourth Brother, we've been longing for this for so long, and now we can finally go out and travel!" Yin asked, looking at Yin.
“Yes, it’s a complete relaxation!” Yinqi said.
"You two should go out more often, eat out more often, and try to be more considerate of the people's plight!" Yin instructed his two younger brothers.
Yinqi and Yin listened carefully to Yin's complaints and understood that Kangxi valued Yin highly. Therefore, the two were prepared to follow Yin closely.
"Fourth Brother, do you often go out even when you're in the capital?" Yin asked curiously.
Yin nodded: "I take the children out every three days. If the children don't have enough time outside, they'll become too spoiled and out of touch with reality."
Yin listened carefully to Yin's experience and understood it in his heart.
"We must let them know what life is like for ordinary people. Hutuli Fengsheng Zhalafen is going to manage the mansion. If she doesn't live a life of seclusion, how will the servants of the Imperial Household Department plot against her?" Yin said directly.
One sentence made Yinqi and his wife fall into deep thought. As noble ladies, the princesses would definitely have servants from the Imperial Household Department accompanying them after their marriage. If, as Fourth Brother said, they were really deceived by these servants, the children might still think that it was nothing.
"Fourth Brother, you're absolutely right. Few of these servants are kind-hearted. If they don't know the true prices, they might really be cheated." Yin nodded.
After leaving the palace to establish his own residence, Yin was plotted against by the people of the Imperial Household Department. Fortunately, the Seventh Prince's wife had helped her mother manage the household since she was a child and knew some prices. After entering the residence, she took the account books from the Seventh Prince and almost flew into a rage when she saw the amounts shown on them.
The first thing the Seventh Prince's wife did was to communicate with Yin and tell him how much of it was exaggerated. At that time, Yin was doting on the princess from the Imperial Household Department, so of course he didn't believe what the Seventh Prince's wife said and even scolded her.
Later, during her homecoming visit, the Seventh Prince's wife had Yin personally accompany her outside to experience the true prices in the market. Yin, a prince who grew up in the palace, understood the inside story with just a simple inquiry.
Back at the mansion, he personally used the secret guards given to him by Kangxi to investigate the situation there. The news of the servants' conspiracy was all placed on Yin's desk. After this incident, Yin truly understood the good intentions of his wife.
The couple's relationship gradually improved, and Yin trusted his wife completely.
"Seventh Prince, are the servants in your residence still behaving themselves?" Yinqi knew that both of them were unfavored princes. He was a little better off than Yin, as he had a favored mother and was deeply loved by the Empress Dowager.
Yinzhi had completely fallen out of favor, so the servants of the Imperial Household Department became even more unscrupulous.
"Fourth Brother, those people are still the same. If I punish them, the allowance will drop several levels!" Yin was also very distressed.
"Why don't you tell Father Emperor?" Yinqi asked.
"How so? If I say it once or twice, those servants might be better for a while, but eventually, Father Emperor will forget to ask again, and they will go back to their old ways!" Yin said directly.
Yin and Yinqi exchanged a glance. Surprisingly, no one had mentioned Yin's predicament.
"Seventh Brother, how long have you been like this?" Yin asked with a sigh.
"Since leaving the palace and establishing my own residence, Fourth Brother, I've never been one to ask for too much. I'm already quite satisfied as long as they send me things according to my allotted allowance!" Yin said sincerely. "My wife has replaced all the servants in the residence with those who were bought from outside and have fixed contracts. This has actually reduced expenses by two-thirds, and we don't even need to use our allowance anymore. We can even save some money, so when Father Emperor celebrates his birthday, I can send him some more valuable gifts!"
Yin always thought about his mother, so every time it was her birthday, he would secretly send her a sum of silver notes, hoping that she could live a better life in the palace.
"After we return to the capital, you will come with me to the Ministry of Revenue. I will personally oversee your allocation of funds, and then no one will have anything to say about it!" Yin said, looking at Yin.
Yin looked at him in surprise: "Fourth Brother, are you serious?"
Since Yinzhi left the palace to establish his own residence, Emperor Kangxi said that he could continue to use the allowances for princes. Therefore, those people were still able to embezzle the allowances that were equivalent to those of a prince.
"Of course, I will tell Father Emperor. Tell me, how many things did those servants actually exchange?" Yin couldn't stand these kinds of things the most, so if he found out, he would definitely deal with it.
If even his own brothers were bullied and the rest of the family remained indifferent, Emperor Kangxi would certainly be even angrier.
"Fourth Brother, let's think about this matter more carefully. Eighth Brother helped me before, but he only changed his own circumstances!" Yin remembered that Yin Si had helped him, and Yin was very happy, but eventually, the matter faded away.
"No need, let's go back to Father Emperor's place!" Yin remembered that the Ministry of Revenue had specially submitted a memorial saying that there was a vacancy and they needed a person of high status to take over the medical practice.
Yin's first consideration was his brothers. Before, he had considered whether to let Yinqi take the position, but now he felt that Yin needed the position more than Yinqi.
"Fourth Brother, if you're in too much trouble, you don't need to tell Father Emperor..." Yin said directly.
"Fifth Brother, this position was originally prepared for you, but now I think Yin needs it more than you do!" Yin asked Yinqi.
