Chapter 720 The Twins Resolve the Issue

After dinner, Yin specially kept the twins behind and even dismissed all the servants. The twins looked at each other and their hearts sank. Could it be that they had done something to anger their father?

“Father, what happened that made you so angry?” Iken asked curiously.

"The managers of Linglong Pavilion often appear in our courtyard, you must have noticed, right?" After hearing Su Peisheng's words, the two children asked Qingyan about Linglong Pavilion.

The twins poutingly knew about this, of course they knew; otherwise, why would they ask their mother?

“Father…we wanted to see if there was anything we could do to help!” Yiken rubbed his fingers together, quickly expressing his intention.

Hutuli Fengsheng Zhalafen nodded. Ahhun was right. Their father and mother had helped them bear most of the storms, so they hoped to use their own methods to help their father and mother in some way.

"You two little ones, it's better if you just stay here obediently, there's no need to intervene!" Seeing the twins' unwilling expressions, Yin could only sigh in the end.

Emperor Kangxi was stricter with the twins than he was with the crown prince, and he often entrusted them with small matters, which often led to some trouble.

"Father, even the Emperor doesn't look down on us like this!" Yiken'e was extremely annoyed.

He clenched his little fist, showing Yin that he had grown up.

Pfft!

Qingyan couldn't hold back her laughter and burst out laughing. Kangxi had already handled many of the matters that the twins had asked him to deal with in the early stages, and only the final finishing touches were left to the twins.

However, in their eyes, Kangxi had entrusted everything to them.

"Father, please let us train a bit, okay?" Yiken'e stood beside Yin, wanting Yin to understand that he had grown up and was no longer a child.

Yin glanced awkwardly at Qingyan. This brat was clearly trying to impress him.

"Yiken'e, are you really ready?" Yin recalled Kangxi's instructions before leaving the capital, to keep Yiken'e by his side at all times, probably so that he could practice on him.

“Yes, I’m ready!” Iken’e puffed out his chest and assured her.

"Alright, you've made up your mind. I won't hide it anymore. Here are the details of the matter. You two can discuss it here. Once you've decided, let Erlu and Bayan do it!" Yin nodded, took all the documents from Su Peisheng, and handed them to the twins.

The twins looked at the thick stack of folded documents and a smile appeared on their faces.

As Qingyan watched the twins happily leave with the folded paper, she felt even more uneasy.

“Little darling, there’s no need to worry here. We’re already protecting them. Even Father Emperor said we should give the two children a chance!” Qingyan’s worried look left Yin feeling helpless.

Inside the palace, six-year-old children had to leave their mothers' protection and go to the princes' quarters. In the princes' quarters, they faced similar problems as twins.

From the time the twins were young, Qingyan subtly taught them, starting by disciplining the servants around them.

Emperor Kangxi discovered that the twins were quite adept at controlling their children, so he instructed Consort Tong to handle a few minor matters that had been overlooked.

Under Consort Tong's tutelage, the children's skills became increasingly remarkable.

"Fourth Prince, I'm worried. The officialdom here is very different from the palace. Haven't you noticed that Mother has been telling us to be careful and not to fall into the traps set by the women here?" Qingyan looked at Yin with concern. She should be happy that the children wanted to grow up.

Over the course of several days, the twins were extremely busy, often holding small meetings together. Qingyan looked at her children and became increasingly worried.

"Mother, we've taken care of it!" Yiken'e presented her proposed solution.

Yin and Qingyan sat in the main seats, looking at the investigation report written by the two children, and even a list of ministers hidden behind them.

"You've exposed yourselves too!" Yin glanced at the list, and it matched his investigation perfectly. When he sent Erlu to investigate, he discovered the two children's involvement and had it covered up.

Yiken lowered his head and pouted.

"Alright, for your age, you've done quite well. At least, you're much better than your mother!" Yin thought of how Qingyan handled Qingya's matter. For many years, Qingya had been in Mongolia and hadn't caused any trouble.

Yin did some dirty work behind the scenes, so Qingya couldn't return to the capital. If it were up to Qingyan's temper, he would definitely go to Qiumi's place to block Qingyan from time to time.

The twins looked at Qingyan suspiciously. Why did their father say that?

"We agreed not to bring up the past!" Qingyan was exasperated. Every time Yin praised the children, he would bring up this matter.

"What else can I say?" Yin looked at Qingyan with a smile. "About the matter of Princess Qingya that I told you about, Hutuli Fengsheng Zhalafen, you've grown up now, about the same age as your mother was when she was handling things. Tell me about it!"

Hutu Lifengsheng Zhalafen tilted his head and said, "Father, there are no concubine daughters in our family, so this could not happen to me."

Qingyan proudly raised her little head, convinced that her daughter was absolutely right.

“Mother, my sister is clearly saying that you handled it poorly. If it were her, she would have prevented this from happening!” Yiken’e chimed in from the side.

Qingyan was instantly speechless. Her own son actually disliked her. This wouldn't do.

"Hutu Lifengsheng Zhalafen, is that what you mean?" Qingyan asked, looking at her daughter.

“Mother, Ah Hun is right. You should have been dealt with when you were injured. Why did you have to go to the new house to live?” Hutu Lifengsheng Zhalafen shook his head.

Grandma Guoluo treated them very well. They never expected that their mother would go through such a painful process. If they could, they would all wish that their mother could be safe and sound.

"Alright, let's leave it at that!" Qingyan knew that continuing would be a mistake, so she decided not to say anything more.

Yin laughed unkindly: "Little darling, you'd better listen quietly to what the children have to say!"

The twins recounted their investigation over the past few days, revealing that Zhang Fang of Linglong Pavilion indeed had connections with the families of officials in the south, and that several of them had even accepted bribes from these families.

Qingyan was stunned. She hadn't noticed any of this, but her own children had.
