Chapter 781 Solution

Inside the post station's main hall, the Mongolian wives sat one by one in grand chairs and began to weep.

Qingyan and several of the wives were sitting there, their faces showing a hint of restraint. These wives were about to make another request.

"Fourth Princess Consort, the Prince is being raised here by you, so there are many things we need to report to him." The princess consorts exchanged glances. After they escaped during the fire, they had specifically discussed with their husbands the possibility of staying at the Yuelai Inn.

Qingyan didn't say much, completely disregarding the opinions of these wives. If anyone were to gossip behind her back, she certainly wouldn't agree.

The rooms at Yuelai Inn are all booked, and many married women who are preparing to return to their parents' homes are waiting there with their husbands and children.

“Reporting is a good thing; Father will definitely make important arrangements for you,” said Lady Yingenjueluo.

The Mongol wives were all stunned. The wives of the princes were usually very kind, so why were the wives they encountered all unkind?

Inside the post station, the cause of the fire was being investigated in detail, and Tulichen brought it with him after their arrival.

"Sister-in-law, I heard that Tu Lichen should be coming over!" Qing Yan said in a voice.

Yin Genjue Luo was slightly taken aback. The fact that Tu Lichen had come over proved that Kangxi must have already received the news.

"Ladies, do you have anyone you suspect?" asked Lady Yin Genjue Luo.

"Princess Consort of Prince Zhi, we believe that the Princess Consort of the Right Wing Prince and others are suspects. They came here to provoke us before. We thought that since the old prince had just left, we should keep a low profile. Who would have thought that they would show us no respect and even curse us!" The princess consort cried out from the side.

Qingyan's face turned somewhat ugly. The Right Wing Prince had complained to the Empress Dowager quite a bit, and the princes' primary wives had all been scolded by this old lady.

"You're all hurling insults here!" the wives sighed helplessly.

Qingyan and Yingenjueluo exchanged a glance: "Yes, the Right Wing Prince's wife is the same age as the Empress Dowager, so everyone should give way to her."

The wives all gave bitter smiles: "Fourth wife, if we could live in peace, we certainly wouldn't be like this. You see, they're even thinking of setting fire to our own quarters!"

Qingyan blinked, unsure of what to do. These wives were indeed not to be trifled with.

"Madam, Fourth Prince, Tulichen requests that all the ladies proceed to the front hall!" Su Peisheng stood respectfully outside the door, head bowed, and reported.

After Qingyan got up, she followed Lady Yingenjueluo and the women to the front hall, where she saw the princes and leaders sitting in the inner chamber.

Three gray-haired guards were left inside the guardhouse. The chieftains were all surprised when they saw these guards. These guards were all brought from the Mongol tribes. Although they were all new to the guard, they were all herders from various tribes.

"Fourth Master, are you sure it's these people?" The leaders were stunned, unable to believe that these were the arsonists.

“Tulichen found them himself, Ogden, do you still want me to frame you?” Yin sneered. These guards were basically brought by the leaders of the Mongol tribes. It’s only natural that some unruly people would infiltrate them.

Previously, Emperor Kangxi had noticed similar situations quite often, but he never did anything about it. After all, if the area around the Mongol leaders was too peaceful, Kangxi would feel uneasy.

Yin's firm answer infuriated the leaders, who all demanded that Tulichen be dragged out for interrogation to find out who was behind it all.

Tulichen looked at Prince Zhi and Yin, and after the two nodded, he ordered the guards to drag the three guards away.

The women sat down next to their husbands. Qingyan turned slightly to look at Yin, noticing that Batu Buhe was sitting next to Yin, his eyes half-closed.

"Fourth, should we let Batubuhe rest in the side hall first? It's not good for him to keep going like this." Qingyan felt sorry for the guy who had been brought over by the Sixth, and was still having to tough it out here.

Yin shook his head at Qingyan: "Not yet!"

“Your Highness, such disputes between our left-wing and right-wing tribes are extremely rare. This is clearly an attempt to seize our territory!” The chiefs looked at Batubuhe, their plundering intentions rising.

“With His Majesty here, who would dare to plunder your territory? The Right Wing tribes will certainly not fare well. If any of you dare to make a move behind our backs, just wait for the old prince's last decree.” Huricha stepped out from behind Batubuhe.

The leaders were very wary of Huricha. The old prince, seeing that Batubuhe was too old, had left a will for each of the leaders before his death. If these wills were actually brought out, their lives would definitely not be easy.

Batu Buhe forced his eyes open and glared angrily at the leader. He believed that following the Qing Dynasty would surely lead to better days ahead. He wasn't confused; he was certain that Abu's instructions were correct.

“I live in the capital. After you return, you must all perform your duties. If I find anyone daring to interfere with the right-wing tribes, don’t blame me!” Batu Buhe’s childish voice rang out. Although he tried to appear very dignified, there was still a sense that the child was speaking like an adult.

Qingyan sat down beside him and poured him a cup of warm tea with her right hand to warm him up.

"Madam, where are we going to stay? We all have families with us, we can't stay in this kind of post station forever, can we?" Several wives looked at Qingyan, hoping to go to the Yuelai Inn.

They had originally booked the Yuelai Inn, but because it was getting late, they couldn't find a suitable courtyard to stay in.

"Eldest brother, fourth brother, my inn still has room. How about letting the leaders of the Left Wing Mongols stay there?" Yin asked directly.

Yin squinted his eyes. Both Yuelai Inn and Yin's Inn were good, and they were always in high demand before the Spring Festival.

"No need, Father Emperor means that arrangements will be made again. My brothers may have to work a little harder, as they will be spending the night here with the leaders tonight," Yin said directly.

Qingyan was slightly taken aback. Yin actually said that. He thought Yin would agree with the leaders of the left-wing tribes and go to the Yuelai Inn.

A hint of disappointment flashed in the eyes of the wives; it would have been better if they could have gone there.

"Yes, elder brother!" the princes all agreed.

“Brother, let Batu Buhe finish his business and rest in the side hall first. He is too old. If he doesn’t get enough sleep, it will easily affect his growth and go against Father’s wishes!” Yin said first.

Yin and the others nodded in agreement, and the Mongol leaders could only acquiesce.
