Chapter Five: Forty-Four? Or the Fourth Master?

That evening, Yin rested in Fei Yanggu's courtyard. Su Peisheng stood by the desk, slowly grinding ink for Yin. The sounds of Fei Yanggu and Qingyan playing could be heard intermittently from the courtyard.

Such joyful laughter would never have been heard in the deep palace; Emperor Kangxi would never have played like this with his children. Yin stepped out of the room and stood in the corridor, watching Fei Yanggu and Qingyan chasing each other, and a deep sense of envy rose in Yin's heart.

"Big Brother, come play with me!" Qingyan called out to Yin in a childish voice. Fei Yanggu was speechless; he had forgotten to tell Qingyan how to address Yin.

The soft, childlike voice fell silent, instantly silencing the two male protagonists present, one big and one small. Yin couldn't help but chuckle. How exactly did this little guy address him? "Big Brother"? What an incongruous title!

Qingyan hadn't expected her shout to be so lethal; she had always treated ************ as a nickname.

"Little darling, you should call him Fourth Brother." Yin walked up to Qingyan, her fair face flushed pink from exercise. Fei Yanggu didn't interfere in the matter between the two children.

"No! Big Brother!" Qingyan was furious. That's what people call him online back in the day.

"Call me Fourth Master!"

"Four! Four!"

Fei Yanggu sighed. He could only say that his sensible little daughter instantly turned into an adorable child in front of the Fourth Prince.

The argument between the two was overheard by the guards who were hiding in the shadows protecting the Fourth Prince. They said they didn't know the two young masters. Within the palace, the Fourth Prince's manners were impeccable. The one arguing with the little girl in front of them...

The lackeys don't recognize him!

Later, when Kangxi saw this memorial, he couldn't help but feel that entrusting Yin to Fei Yanggu was the best choice, as the two children together could soothe Yin's increasingly cold heart.

Aside from Prince Chengqian, who rarely showed any extra emotion, it pained him to see him like that. As an emperor, he was gratified that he had a worthy successor, but as a father, he was very worried that Prince Chengqian's suppressed emotions would take a toll on his health.

Outside the palace, Yin's temper flared up, and he started arguing with Qingyan in the courtyard. Fei Yanggu wasn't worried at all. He had Akdun prepare tea and snacks and turn on the courtyard lights. He then watched Yin and Qingyan bickering in the courtyard with an air of superiority.

The Yin Cai before him was like a child. After his last fever, Yin Cai was like a different person, gloomy and cold. Except for the Emperor and Consort Tongjia, he was like an ice cube to everyone else.

What surprised everyone even more was that the Fourth Prince treated Lady Uya as if she were his mother's murderer. Kangxi had already ordered his secret guards to investigate what Yinzhen had overheard at Yonghe Palace before his fever broke.

The sight of the two little ones bickering completely relaxed him. Kangxi had sent Yinzhi here hoping he could relax and not push himself too hard.

Looking at Yin's wrinkled, round face, his standard phoenix eyes of the Aisin Gioro family were half-closed. Suddenly, she thought of the chibi versions of the comics featuring the Fourth Prince and the Thirteenth Prince. She was a die-hard fan of the Fourth Prince and had carefully collected every single comic.

"Call me Fourth Master!" Yin had repeated this many times, but Qingyan immediately changed his words.

"Call him Fourth Brother!" Yin fell for it as expected.

As soon as he finished speaking, the fourth prince, who was outwardly a steamed bun but inwardly the Yongzheng Emperor, immediately covered his face. How embarrassing!

He couldn't help but feel remorseful. He had underestimated his opponent! He had actually been fooled by a little girl.

"Listen to me." Fei Yanggu thought that Yin and Qingyan had finished their fuss, so he stepped down two steps and heard Yin's words. He spoke with a hint of a smile.

Qingyan wore a smug look on her face, her big eyes darting around as if she were plotting something mischievous. Yin shook his head helplessly; such an adorable, doting little wife was perhaps what he needed.

In his past life, after Honghui left, Qingyan became too overly proper. In this life, Yin will protect that innocent smile forever. He will never let such a bright smile be tarnished.

"Fourth Uncle!" Yin admired Fei Yanggu very much. He was able to be regarded as a brother by Kangxi, Fuquan, Longxi and Changning, and they did not even suspect him. When Fei Yanggu passed away, Kangxi changed into plain clothes and personally came to pay his respects.

Fei Yanggu nodded. Yin's change was good. He would mention it to His Majesty when he went to court tomorrow.

“Qingyan is young and doesn’t speak clearly, so she uses a lot of reduplicated words.” Fei Yanggu was clearly protecting her daughter. In fact, she said she was 3 years old, but she was only 2.

Yin was stunned; he was protecting his own.

“So, Fourth Fourth is also acceptable.” Fei Yanggu felt that Yin’s expression became much more varied when he heard the title Fourth Fourth.

"No!" Yin shook his head. If Qingyan got used to calling her that in the future, she would be punished if she continued to do so in the harem after the wedding.

He couldn't help but think about the future first, and unconsciously, he had already regarded Qingyan as one of his own.

"Alright, call me that in private. In front of outsiders, you should call me Fourth Master!" Yin looked at her tearful eyes and finally gave in. He muttered to himself, "When did my little princess's tears become so powerful? I should keep it to myself and never let this girl know. Otherwise, she'll burst into tears at the slightest thing."

Yin did not take refuge from smallpox at Fei Yanggu Mansion in his previous life, and did not know what the young Qingyan looked like. He understood the rules of the deep palace, which changed the bright and cheerful Qingyan.

"Okay!" Qingyan nodded. She had secured a right for herself. From now on, when she went to Yin's backyard, no one would dare to call him by that title.

Yin felt overwhelmed and thought that his obedient little wife was better. However, he preferred to see the spirited Qingyan in front of him.

"Yin, you can go back to your studies now. Every three days, I will personally bring your studies to the palace. If you have any questions, you can ask Mr. Liao." Mr. Liao was an advisor invited by Fei Yanggu. He was highly skilled in military strategy and tactics, and was also a talent who could see through the shady dealings of officialdom.

If it weren't for his poor background, Fei Yanggu would have thought that this man was wasting his talents by not serving the Qing Dynasty.

"Yes, Fourth Uncle!" Yin nodded. In the palace, Father Emperor had also mentioned this person. However, he was from a collateral branch of the Zhu family. Otherwise, this person would definitely be a major threat to the Qing Dynasty.

Emperor Kangxi and others trusted Fei Yanggu, which is why they placed him under their supervision. Mr. Liao then used an alias to come to Fei Yanggu's residence. The skills of Saito and Eshuo were basically taught by Mr. Liao.

"Qingyan, it's time to go back to sleep! No more reading storybooks." Fei Yanggu picked up Qingyan and turned to walk towards the room. Qingyan was very clever; at only three years old, she could already understand storybooks. Yin stared in astonishment at Fei Yanggu's retreating figure; his little princess was truly a genius.

How could she not have noticed in her past life? Perhaps, to avoid arousing Kangxi's suspicion, Ulanara had concealed all her abilities. Such actions are entirely in line with Fei Yanggu's style.

Qingyan wrapped her arms around Fei Yanggu's neck, her big eyes gazing at the departing figure. She couldn't help but clench her fists in her heart, determined to make Sisi happy for the rest of her life.

"Little darling, why did you argue with the Fourth Prince?" Fei Yanggu pinched his daughter's little nose, he was a little confused.

"Isn't it interesting to see your icy expression break?" Qingyan replied arrogantly.
