Chapter Sixty-Nine: Qingyan Gets Beaten

Inside the capital, Suo'etu and others were plotting, and the Crown Prince was forced into a corner, having no choice but to side with the Hesheli family.

Yin sent a message to Kangxi from one of his trusted guards. Unfortunately, it was intercepted by Suo'etu halfway through.

"Fourth Prince, the Crown Prince's good intentions have not been conveyed." Qingyan looked up at Yin.

The carriage swayed and rattled along. They had left the small county town early that morning and were now officially embarking on their journey back to the capital.

"Little darling, no matter what the outcome, your second brother will never gain Father's trust again." Yin's expression was somewhat sorrowful; he never expected Yin to be so foolish.

Qingyan was puzzled. Kangxi should know his connections in the capital, and he should know Yin's every move. Why was it not working?

"Do you really think Father Emperor is a god? If Suo'etu could secretly kill someone, he would have made complete preparations long ago. How could he let Second Brother ruin his plans?" Yin smiled as he looked at Qingyan, but the more he explained, the more chilled she felt.

Qingyan gripped his hand tightly. Would Yin be treated the same way during the struggle for the throne among the nine princes?

The royal power struggles were not as easy as depicted in the novel; the women of the inner court were also drawn into them.

For the time being, the Ulanara residence has not been implicated, and she believes that as long as Kangxi is willing, they will not be able to escape.

"My little darling, this is the royal family." Yin was also heartbroken. In this life, if Consort Tong hadn't died young, his future path would have been much smoother.

Given the current situation, he is the least willing to see Yin step down, after all, he is the prince with the highest status besides Yin. Facing his brothers, the slightest misstep could make him the second target.

She nestled in Yin's arms, her little head constantly thinking about whether they could run out to wander around the post station below, since the quality of their rations had recently declined again.

As the situation worsened, she used even less, which gave Yin a great headache. He wanted to fatten Qingyan up, or at least not let her become increasingly thin like she was now.

Recently, she developed symptoms of hypoglycemia, which puzzled the imperial physicians. Qingyan had always been a healthy baby and had never experienced such unhealthy ailments before.

"Little darling, drink more honey tea." She doesn't like sweet desserts, but she really likes Western cakes.

After diagnosis, the imperial physicians chose this method to help Qingyan recuperate.

Qingyan's face scrunched up. She hated honey tea the most. It was just a warm drink made with simple honey and green tea, and it was completely different from the honey grapefruit tea in her previous life.

"I don't... Waaah... This tastes awful." Qingyan's little face turned into a little bun, wrinkled as she denounced Yin's inhumane act.

Yin was speechless; this girl was so annoying, he just wanted to punch her.

According to the imperial physician, Qingyan's body is so fragile because she did not receive better care since childhood. If you start taking care of her now, she will become a normal girl when she comes of age.

"Little darling, I can't let you do whatever you want." Yin was furious; this girl was definitely his nemesis.

In the end, he couldn't resist her little temper and finally gave in.

"Absolutely no compromise. I might compromise for anything else, but not for this!" Qingyan's attitude was very firm; she was determined to resist food she didn't like.

Even if Yin were to aid and abet the wicked.

She kept rolling her eyes at Yin, but he just smiled. This girl was still the same as when she was a child, always restless.

Yin confronted her for a long time before finally giving in, pinching her little cheek helplessly. In both his lives combined, only this little girl could make him compromise.

Her little temper made him feel more and more guilty. She used to be just as lively as she is now, but because of his restraint, she has become more and more dull.

"Fourth Brother, I can use other dietary therapy methods; I absolutely will not drink this honey tea." Qingyan pouted, determined not to argue with Yin any longer.

His face was completely blackened, sob sob... He'd turned into an iceberg.

At this moment, Yin became angry. Her health was deteriorating, largely due to her picky eating. Yin placed her on his lap and slapped her bottom with his large hand.

"Waaah... Sisi, you're so mean! I did nothing wrong, put me down!" Qingyan's cries echoed outside the carriage.

The Dragon Guards looked at each other in bewilderment. What were these two young masters arguing about now?

It sounds like the princess was being punished.

"Fourth Brother, you naughty boy!" Qingyan's eyes were filled with grievance, her little mouth pouting, her soft voice accusing him of inhumanity. Yin didn't soften; if the little guy's health wasn't taken care of, it would really get bad.

"Still yelling?" Yin looked at the little guy hiding in a corner, covering the spot where he had been hit with his hands, his little voice becoming increasingly shrill. He was speechless.

She sobbed, tears slowly sliding down her cheeks.

"You made a mistake, and you won't let people say it!" Qingyan pouted and said directly.

Yin pulled her up from the ground, wiped her tears with a silk handkerchief, and as soon as he let her sit on his lap, the little one shivered, which made Yin laugh.

"Still making a fuss?" He rubbed her little bottom, and immediately her face turned bright red.

Yin sighed inwardly. Qingyan was indeed too naive. With his two lifetimes combined, he could suppress Qingyan's expression in front of him. However, he didn't yet possess that ability.

"Why do you have to drink it?" Qingyan was puzzled. The tea wasn't very good, and the Imperial Hospital didn't provide it to the concubines.

"This is specially for you. You're young, and this tea is best for your health." Yin didn't say much, only hoping that Qingyan could understand his predicament.

Qingyan nestled into his arms, feeling wronged, and muttered softly.

He patted her back, hoping she would calm down.

"Si Si, have someone change the tea. I'll try another method." Qing Yan shook her head firmly; she wouldn't drink it even if coaxed.

"Two gold ingots at a time." Yin thought to himself, and placed Qingyan's favorite thing directly in front of her.

"No!" Qingyan would not waver. Normally she would compromise, but today she was determined not to.

Yin was stunned. The things that had attracted Qingyan the most had all failed. It seemed that he really needed to have a serious talk with those people.

"Fine, if you don't like it, then you don't have to." Yin saw Qingyan's serious expression and gave in immediately.

"Yay!" Qingyan cheered.

Su Peisheng and Su Lan exchanged a glance. Princess Qingyan had finally been appeased by the Fourth Prince; otherwise, Lord Ulanara would have lost his temper.

"From now on, if there's anything you don't like to eat, just tell me directly. Don't throw things away." Yin was annoyed when he thought about Qingyan's behavior these past few days.

As they prepared to leave the small county town, they were busy packing, and no one was in charge of Qingyan's meals. For two or three days in a row, the little guy didn't take the medicinal meals prepared by the imperial physician himself.

The imperial physicians told him this just before he left.
