Chapter Thirty-One: A Small Revenge

Yin respectfully handed six apples to Li Dequan, saying they were a gift from Yin. Li Dequan happily accepted them.

Inside the imperial carriage, Kangxi looked at the several bright red apples in front of him and couldn't help but feel happy. Yinzhi would never keep the good food to himself and would always give some to his father.

"Lanya, it sounds like you've had a lot of stuff under your eyes, mostly food. Your reputation as a little foodie is ruined." Kangxi used a knife to prepare an apple and ate it with Consort Tong.

"It tastes very good!" Lan Ya smiled. Before the trip, Yin had asked Su Peisheng to send six jars of honey, saying that his father and mother should use some every morning. Seeing her son's thoughtfulness, she brought all the honey with her.

Emperor Kangxi was very satisfied with Yinzhi. Qingyan's enthusiasm for learning further inspired Yinzhi. Of the three children who were sent away to study, Yinzhi's studies were the fastest and most profound. Compared with Yinzhi, the difference was even more pronounced.

Qingyan's clear, soft voice kept coming from inside Yin's carriage. Kangxi was a martial artist, so his hearing was better than that of ordinary people. The corners of his mouth turned up slightly.

"That little rascal Qingyan must have found something to do with Yin again. His laughter even reached me." Kangxi shook his head helplessly. He couldn't be too concerned about Yin, otherwise, the Hesheli family would target Yin, and Qingyan would be implicated as well.

Lanya felt a tickle in her heart; Yin hadn't relaxed in a long time. This constant tension was causing Yin emotional problems.

Fei Yanggu frowned as he listened to his daughter's soft voice. In the mansion, Qingyan and Yin's antics wouldn't have caused any problems, but now it was different. There were many outsiders around, and it was hard to guarantee that none of them harbored ill intentions. Their family's prominent status was something many people envied.

Inside the carriage, Yin had already thought of Fei Yanggu's concerns. He held Qingyan on his lap and asked Su Peisheng to close the carriage's blinds so that the outside couldn't see inside, but that the sunlight still shone into the carriage.

"Little darling, you need to control your temper when you're out. People won't care that you're young and will let you off the hook." Yin looked at Qingyan. The little guy was sure to be reported to Emperor Kangxi by the censor. Many noble ladies were still waiting for the position of Fourth Prince Consort.

"Hmph, troublemaker!" Qingyan pouted, glaring angrily at Yin.

Every time he went out, noble ladies would stare intently at Yin. Even when he went to war, he would encounter this situation. Qingyan was really having a headache.

"Alright, you little rascal, you're so unreasonable." Yin shook his head helplessly and slowly fed her the millet porridge.

The two of them were already used to this way of dining. Qingyan was noisy and childish, while he was more considerate of her and didn't want her to be taken advantage of or hurt by those people.

Yin listened intently to the discussions outside, and Qingyan couldn't help but frown.

Not everyone knows what's going on in the Ulanara family. Why are those two outside bullying her family? What kind of talk is this about a legitimate daughter being inferior to a legitimate son? If Saito and Eshuo don't survive, Qingyan will receive her parents' favor and love.

If Qingyan were a child, she might have hurt her two older brothers in a fit of anger.

Yin narrowed his eyes. Those outside should know that Qingyan was in the carriage, and besides, everyone around could hear Qingyan's clear voice.

"Little darling, don't listen to those people. They clearly have ill intentions." Yin didn't want Qingyan to get hurt, so he had to teach Qingyan a lesson.

"Waaah..." Qingyan started to cry. She was never liked by anyone, not only her own mother, but even strangers didn't want to let her go.

She was going to hurt her two brothers. Her father would definitely be disappointed in her, and Yin would definitely hate her.

"My dear... not everyone in this world will like you!" Yin thought of Wuya Shi. He was clearly Wuya Shi's son, but he had always been disliked by her. Seeing Yin Zuo being loved by Wuya Shi like a treasure, Yin felt even more heartbroken.

Perhaps, by letting go of those who are not doing good, their lives will be more fulfilling.

"I know!" Qingyan wasn't stupid; on the contrary, she was very intelligent. Some of the Jue Luo family's actions had deeply hurt her.

At the full moon celebration, she was nearly killed by Jue Luo Shi, a scene forever etched in Qingyan's heart. It constantly reminded her that she was not the child Jue Luo Shi truly wanted.

Perhaps, with repeated reminders, the pain in my heart has lessened.

Yin hugged Qingyan tightly, letting her vent her frustrations. Su Peisheng and Su Lan watched their young master comforting each other; they could only do this to her. If they had the ability, they would never let anyone hurt them.

"I'm much better now. Were those people targeting you?" After calming down, Qingyan felt that something was wrong. If they wanted to destroy the Ulanara family, they wouldn't need to tell her. Fei Yanggu and his two sons were all going to the battlefield. Swords have no eyes. Who can guarantee that they will survive on the battlefield?

Kangxi implied to everyone that she was Yinzhi's primary consort, and that apart from an imperial edict, everything else had been given to her according to the provisions for a primary consort.

At most, her actions to harm her brother will completely ruin her reputation; it seems the other party has no intention of intervening.

"Little darling has become smarter!" Yin didn't answer Qingyan's question, but just patted her little head and said with emotion.

"Really?!" It was so hard to get praise from Yin. Every time, she had to work extra hard to earn his appreciation.

Yinding's target was right; Qingyan's intuition was correct. Those people were after him. If he wasn't mistaken, those two were from the Hesheli family. To further solidify the Crown Prince's position, Suo'etu had really gone to great lengths.

"They are Suo'etu's men!" If Qingyan wanted revenge, he didn't care as long as he wasn't discovered.

Qingyan was furious. Wasn't Suo'etu a prime minister? He was willing to drag the crown prince down for the benefit of the Hesheli family. Should such a person be kept alive or dealt with directly?

She tilted her head and began to seriously consider the matter. Yin wanted status, and keeping Suo'etu around would completely drag the Crown Prince down with him. This was the best option.

"I want revenge!" Qingyan whispered in his ear, "Do you want an itching medicine or a laxative?"

Yin was stunned. Qingyan's small pharmacy had many prescriptions that she had seen in her notes. She had even made some of the medicines that wouldn't harm lives. This itching medicine was one that she hadn't tested.

"Um... are you sure it won't be life-threatening?" Yin asked, still worried.

"Hmph, don't worry about that. It will only itch for a couple of days at most, and then it will recover." Qingyan smiled. There was no time to wait for the final result. Soon, they would be setting up camp. Many people are allergic to the grass on the grassland. If those two had this problem, it could just be said that they were careless.

"Alright!" Yin thought there was no problem, as long as it didn't delay the trip.
