Chapter Thirty-Two: The Departure Banquet

Taking advantage of the time Qingyan spent hiding in the space, she placed the itching powder on the two people while the tent was being set up. Yinzhi instructed the people around him to keep an eye on them, but they didn't pay much attention.

"Little darling, this is the only time. Don't do it again!" Yin was a little annoyed. Qingyan rarely misbehaved, and their ridicule hurt her self-esteem.

Yin watched with a smile as the other party was being tormented. Kangxi noticed the little fox-like smile on the fourth prince's face and found it a bit strange, as he rarely showed any expression beyond his icy demeanor.

"Little Fourth, come here!" Kangxi beckoned Yinzhi to his side, and the expression on Yinzhi's face was somewhat strange.

Kangxi's summons calmed Yinzhen down. Qingyan had indeed offended Kangxi's guards. Oh well, he gritted his teeth and refused to utter a single word.

"Father, are you looking for your son?" Qingyan was held in Yin's arms, and his possessiveness was stronger than that of Kangxi at such a young age.

"Put Qingyan here with me." Kangxi was about to take Qingyan when Yinzhi dodged him; the little guy was his. "You brat, I'm your father!"

Kangxi received a disdainful look from Yinzhi. Wasn't his wife right there?

"You can hold your mother, Qingyan is mine!" Yin arrogantly turned his head, placed Qingyan on a chair beside him, and patted her little head. "Father, what brings you here?"

Kangxi rubbed his temples. The fourth prince had been spoiled by Fei Yanggu, and his temper was getting more and more irritable.

"Are you planning to do something bad?" Kangxi still remembered how he and Fuquan used to mess with the tutors in the Imperial Study. When the young children encountered something that made them feel unbalanced, they would use some childish methods to retaliate against the other party.

Yin quickly shook his head. Qingyan nervously twirled the handkerchief in her hand. Would Kangxi's guards have seen what she did? Seeing that he couldn't get an answer from Yin, Kangxi turned his attention to Qingyan. The little one probably didn't have that many thoughts.

"Uh..." Qingyan shook her little head, looking at him innocently.

Lanya covered her mouth with a handkerchief. Ba Zhile thought, "Who can make Kangxi lose face? Only these two children in front of me." She had known all along that Qingyan and Yin were going to deal with certain people who were mocking them.

"Father... Don't look at Qingyan like that!" Yin straightened her small chest and stood in front of Qingyan, blocking her view. She had never met Kangxi's gaze before; his imposing presence was not something an ordinary person could resist.

As soon as she finished speaking, Consort Tong could no longer contain herself and burst into laughter. Her precious son was truly making her ecstatic. When had Yin ever reacted so strongly?

Kangxi was taken aback. Yin had never shown such an expression before. He had previously told Consort Tong that Yin would always have an icy face, which was a pity for Qingyan.

You brat!

Kangxi cursed inwardly. Qingyan's soft, sweet childlike voice was much more pleasant to hear than Yin's. How could that rough and uncouth Feiyanggu have such a delicate little daughter? The Eternal Heaven was a bit unfair. Fortunately, this little girl would become his daughter-in-law.

"No disturbances allowed! We're still on a forced march!" Kangxi was worried about Yinzhen. The two young boys were at a playful age, and if they were imprisoned by outsiders, it would be a loss for the imperial family.

Yin nodded obediently. Today, they could rest here, couldn't they?

"Never mind, you won't tell me anyway. Let's go to the bonfire banquet together later." On the first day of the expedition, the army would have a bonfire banquet to boost morale, and Kangxi would be no exception.

Yin pulled Qingyan to change her clothes, first dressing her in a bright red Mongolian robe and red riding boots inlaid with pearls, then changing himself into a prince's everyday clothes. He then took Qingyan's little hand and walked step by step toward the meeting point.

They had just arrived at the meeting place when they heard Saito and Eshuo looking for a doctor.

"Ah Hun," Qingyan's soft voice instantly calmed the two enraged men. "What are you doing?"

Saito picked up Qingyan and looked her up and down. Fortunately, the little one was not allergic, and both children were fine. Those guards were so delicate.

"Qingyan, don't wander around at night. There are many things on the grassland that can trigger your allergies." Saito has already assigned someone to take over the affairs of those people. If they cannot recover within three days, they will have to stay and rest in the area, waiting for the army to return. His Majesty cannot risk his life.

Her eyes widened. Had her itching powder worked?

Upon hearing the news from Saito, she immediately became obedient, knowing that any unusual behavior she might do would definitely be noticed.

Later, when Kangxi heard Eshuo and Saito report that the people were just allergic to grasses on the grassland, Kangxi glanced at Xiao Si, who was serving Qingyan's meal, and thought to himself, "That brat, when did he learn to take action in private?"

Well, it's okay for boys to be a little naughty.

"Eat less roasted food!" Kangxi pointed to the leafy greens in front of him and asked Li Dequan to send them to Yinzhi.

In his memory, Yin liked to eat vegetables and rarely touched meat. This time when he came back, Yin's diet was completely normal, and he even started eating meat, which he used to hate the most.

The children taught by Fei Yanggu are all quite good; it seems that placing them in Fei Yanggu's home was the right choice.

"Thank you, Father Emperor!" Yin obediently stood up and thanked Emperor Kangxi.

At this moment, the Mongolian princes discovered that the Fourth Prince was also accompanied by the Emperor, along with a bright and beautiful young princess. This princess was...

Some Mongolian princes had such ideas that every year they would ask Emperor Kangxi to grant them marriages, even if they were daughters of ministers. As long as they married into Mongolia, Emperor Kangxi would recognize them as goddaughters.

“Amin, that’s Xiao Si’s primary wife, Fei Yanggu’s daughter. Don’t think about anything else.” The Khorchin Prince saw several princes who were having designs on him and felt he should warn his younger brother.

Immediately, the princes lowered their arrogant gazes. The fact that the Fourth Prince's primary consort, the Khorchin Princess, was eloquent meant she had Emperor Kangxi's approval. This prince, raised under the care of Consort Tong, was the only one besides the Crown Prince to have been personally mentored and educated by Emperor Kangxi.

Nowadays, the princes are being raised in Feiyanggu's residence to prevent smallpox. It is rumored in the capital that the residences that raise the princes are basically the princes' in-laws.

The princes were from the Yin Genjue Luo clan, the Dong E clan, and the Ulanara clan. They had three sons and three wives.

Yin's careful care for Qingyan made the other princes envious. Which prince could do what the Fourth Prince did? Their princesses could not marry the royal princes, otherwise, this prince would be the best choice.

"Brother, what about His Majesty..." Amin was unwilling to give up; Qingyan's temperament was just too good.

"It's already out in the open, didn't you see the Fourth Prince taking care of her without any regard for appearances?" Prince Khorchin shook his head. He wouldn't bring trouble into his family. Yin's temper was the coldest among the princes, and his possessiveness was the strongest.
