Chapter Thirty-Three: The Mongolian Prince's Request

After the banquet, many people were wondering which official this princess, who was so doted on by the Fourth Prince, was the apple of everyone's eye. They hoped that she could marry one of his sisters, or at least have a relationship with the Fourth Prince or the Emperor.

Many well-informed individuals, however, abandoned this idea. The Fourth Prince's prospective father-in-law was the fierce general Fei Yanggu, whose obsessive love for his daughter had long been a well-known story. Therefore, many people had already backed down, as no one had a background as deep as Yin's to provoke Fei Yanggu.

"Qingyan, eat less." Qingyan was surprised. Her stunning entrance drew the attention of many men, which he deeply resented, but there was nothing he could do about it.

Hearing Yin's words, Qingyan couldn't help but pout. She genuinely didn't want Yin to interfere too much. She believed she was still a commoner, and when faced with a high and mighty prince, she wouldn't give in to everything. At the very least, she had her own principles and bottom line.

"No, the taste isn't right when it's roasted elsewhere." Qingyan had finally managed to eat such a freshly roasted whole lamb, with her own carefully prepared sauce, so she was absolutely not going to let it go.

Qingyan ate the limited amount of mutton on her plate with a dissatisfied look, and cast a few resentful glances at the shameless-looking Fourth Prince. Yin stroked her hair. During this time, the imperial physician had not been able to take care of Qingyan's health, and some problems had arisen. Xiaoya may have been hiding it from him. How could he not know?

Yin summoned Li Dequan and asked him to consult the imperial physician.

This sentence immediately deflated Qingyan. If Fei Yanggu knew that Qingyan had been suffering from internal heat all this time, he probably wouldn't even have the few pieces of mutton in front of him to eat.

"Sisi, I don't want to eat anymore! Don't let Li Anda ask, okay?" Qingyan pleaded, puffing out her cheeks.

Yin smiled. The little one was very similar to before, and every little thing she did made him feel happy.

Fei Yanggu was one of Qingyan's weaknesses. She could calm her down by using Fei Yanggu as an excuse to catch her every time.

"Eat more of this. I had it specially grilled for you." Qingyan likes to eat mushrooms. At the very least, this kind of thing is extremely rare on the grasslands. The barbecue grills they often made at the Ulanara Mansion were something that Yin had the people in the manufacturing department learn to make.

Just now, the princes of Khorchin were urging Emperor Kangxi to leave a few of these barbecue grills.

"Moreover, Father will reward you." Qingyan looked at Sisi with a slightly confused expression.

Should we reward her?

Her eyes were filled with confusion. What did it have to do with her?

"Forgot about your barbecue grill?" Yin Wan never expected that these princes would give up their warhorses in exchange for these barbecue grills.

"Uh..." Qingyan was taken aback. "That's because I was greedy!"

She spoke very softly after the banquet, revealing that while she enjoyed fine food, it was considered unpalatable by many wealthy women.

"As long as it's useful!" Yin scoffed at the noblewomen's words. Who could compare to Qingyan, who was not only capable of making a lot of delicious food?

Qingyan didn't understand why a small barbecue grill would be accepted by the Mongolian princes. On the grasslands, the food available to them was very monotonous, and some princes would rather spend a lot of money to train a famous chef.

"Your barbecue grill can be exchanged for three fine warhorses." Yin looked around and whispered in Qingyan's ear. It has to be said that even Kangxi and Feiyanggu were quite surprised.

On the grasslands, warhorses were not scarce. In order to prevent Kangxi from giving up, the Mongols held onto this resource tightly and would not let go of any of it.

"My God!" Qingyan grew up in the home of a military general, and she understood the importance of warhorses to the Qing Dynasty. It was just a small warhorse, yet it had such a great role to play.

Yin smiled. She had left a deep impression on Kangxi, who even instructed Fei Yanggu to properly nurture Qingyan and not to mistreat her.

"Fourth Prince, this is no joke." Yin nodded; he wasn't lying.

Qingyan looked distressed. Her reputation as a foodie had spread all over the grasslands. Would the Jueluo clan still let her off the hook when she returned?

"My mother..." Qingyan lowered her head; Jue Luo Shi was simply a disaster for her.

Seeing that she was in low spirits, Yin hugged her small body and gently comforted her.

"I will resolve this for you. Even Father Emperor has not said anything bad about you, so what can the Jue Luo clan say?" Yin did not understand where the Jue Luo clan got the audacity to cause such trouble for Qingyan.

As a military officer, watching Yin holding his little daughter and coaxing her, he frowned. The generals around him all said that Fei Yanggu was lucky.

Today, they all know about the princes' request for His Majesty to leave the barbecue grill. The fact that Fei Yanggu's daughter prepared it herself is more effective than any coercion or bribery.

"Feiyanggu, Qingyan is really good, they've been a great help to us. Don't underestimate a tribe just because it only has a few dozen warhorses. This alliance has 30 tribes, and there are hundreds of high-quality warhorses here!" Yin Jishan said excitedly. If the imperial court were to purchase so many batches of warhorses, how much would it have to pay?

Now, with just a word, the princes have all pleaded with His Majesty.

"It's just that the child is greedy." Fei Yanggu didn't want Qingyan to become too famous. After all, the famous wives of the royal family didn't have happy married lives. Young Qingyan didn't know what she would face.

"You're being too cautious. Go back and tell your wife not to restrict Qingyan's thoughts!" The upper-class ladies were well aware of the constraints that Lady Jue Luo placed on Qingyan.

Fei Yanggu gave a bitter smile. His words carried no weight with the Jue Luo clan. At most, Qing Yan would have a few days of relative ease. Once the Jue Luo clan saw that things had calmed down, Qing Yan's days would only become more difficult.

"I'd like to, but it's not going to work out. It's good enough if Qingyan doesn't suffer any injustice." Fei Yanggu shook his head. His wife was such a headache.

Yin Jishan patted Fei Yanggu on the shoulder sympathetically. Back then, Fei Yanggu's betrothed was the most successful among them. Now, however, he is the one who causes the most trouble.

All the wives envied Lady Jueluo for having a daughter like Qingyan.

"Putting everything else aside, when Qingyan celebrates her birthday, we plan to hold a celebration for her, but she always stops us, saying that girls shouldn't celebrate too many birthdays, lest they shorten their lifespan," Fei Yanggu complained to Yin Jishan.

The two families were very close. Lady Jue Luo and Yin Jishan's primary consort were both imperial concubines of the same year and childhood best friends.

"Never mind, I'll go back and have my wife speak to Lady Jueluo. Such harm to Qingyan will anger the Emperor," Yin Jishan said sympathetically.
