Chapter 209 Tears in My Eyes

Duofu stared at the Fourth Prince with a reproachful look in his big eyes, his right hand red from the grinding wheel.

The Fourth Prince found it somewhat amusing, picked up Duofu's hand and blew on it, saying, "You're already complaining about being tired? Weren't you quite energetic last night?"

Duofu dared not say that he was injured in the fight. He pretended to be a quail and didn't say anything. He just stared at the Fourth Prince with teary eyes.

He had to make him feel guilty and admit his mistake. Even if he was wrong last night, he was definitely not wrong this morning. If he hadn't tickled him, why would he have been squirming around? And if he hadn't been squirming around, why would his hand have turned red?

The Fourth Prince looked at Duofu, who was wrapped up in a ball and trying to shrink himself further inside, and said nothing. Instead, he got up with a smile and put on his outer clothes.

At the Fourth Prince's instruction, Su Peisheng had already prepared a meal in another side room.

The Fourth Prince dressed casually, not minding the loose fit, and came to the bedside. He cleared his throat and coaxed the boy with a light laugh in his voice.

"Do you want to get dressed? I'll dress you. Let's finish our meal first and then we can talk about other things."

"If you don't want to wear it, I won't mind."

Duofu originally wanted to maintain his composure and firmly say that he would not wear or eat the clothes, but after hearing the last sentence, he quickly poked his head out, glared at the Fourth Prince, and said loudly and firmly, "Bring me the clothes, I will put them on myself, I don't need your help."

The Fourth Prince stood to the side with a smile, handing over the light blue robe he had prepared, and kindly instructed, "If you don't know how, you can call me 'Master,' and I'd be happy to do it for you."

Duofu muttered, "Hurry up and leave, don't disturb me while I'm getting dressed."

Although Duofu has been used to being waited on all these years, his ability to survive independently has not deteriorated. He can still wear clothes, but he might not be able to dress neatly.

Duofu didn't care about anything else. He put on the inner garment and tied himself up neatly, with not a single extra piece of flesh showing.

After Duofu got dressed, he wanted to tell the Fourth Prince behind the screen to hurry up and go to work. He wanted to eat alone and spend some time by himself, without needing his human to be there.

When the Fourth Prince heard no movement from the bed, he came out from behind the screen. He looked at Duofu, who was dressed, and smiled without saying anything. He reached out to grab Duofu.

Duofu subconsciously moved to the side, and only felt a little embarrassed when he realized that he had overreacted. He looked at the Fourth Prince, whose face was not very good, and felt a little unhappy. How could he be blamed for this?

Blame it on his pet owner for scaring him early in the morning.

The Fourth Prince stared intently at Duofu, his expression unreadable, his voice flat.

"Come here, you're hiding from me, huh?"

Duofu was a little unhappy. Why was he being scolded so early in the morning? He was unhappy about everything. He was already feeling unwell, and now his human was scaring him and making him do things he didn't want to do.

Now it's even worse; they practically want to climb all over him.

How could Duofu, with his dog-like temper, possibly be happy about that?

He was raised to be pampered and indulged since childhood, so even what happened last night was wrong of him.

Just say it and that's it, why make such a big deal out of it?

With a whimper, Duofu transformed into a little puppy and disappeared under the bed in the blink of an eye.

The Fourth Prince's initially angry expression instantly froze.

The Fourth Prince himself didn't know what to do next. He was bewildered by his little ancestor's actions and stood blankly in front of the bed for a long time.

His little darling hasn't behaved so childishly since he was six years old.

The Fourth Prince half-squatted down and gently tapped the bed twice to remind Duofu, who was hiding inside. His voice seemed to have returned to the doting and helpless tone when Duofu was six years old and hiding under the bed. It was a soft, hoarse voice, like a warm breeze, as if he were coaxing a little baby.

"Duoduo, be good, let's go eat first, okay? Otherwise, it's not worth it if we go hungry."

Duofu is currently emotionally charged; he's not so easy to appease.

He's harder to soothe than a six-year-old toddler now. He's unhappy all over, not only physically but also mentally.

The cat owner hadn't been this fierce to him in a long time. He hadn't even looked at Su Peisheng like that just now. To look at him so fiercely was simply unforgivable.

Duofu tried his best to pull his chubby little feet further inside, without making a sound. Despite the dust under the bed, Duofu didn't care at all. He didn't want to go out and see his jerk of a cat owner.

The Fourth Prince waited for a long time but heard no response from under the bed. His eyes showed helplessness and distress, indicating that his little darling was truly angry.

The Fourth Prince sighed softly. It was his own fault for not controlling his emotions just now; he could now basically keep his emotions hidden.

However, he genuinely found it difficult to deal with his little darling, whose every move affected his emotions.

Seeing his little darling laughing heartily, the Fourth Prince couldn't help but smile, his dimples appearing in his eyes.

The little brat's instinctive avoidance had deeply offended him, making it impossible for him to control his emotions.

The Fourth Prince didn't intend to use force. He needed to coax this little tyrant out quickly. The ground was so cold; how could his little tyrant bear it?

This isn't his mansion, so the area under the bed has been cleaned spotlessly, and warm blankets have been laid out to make a cozy little room.

The Fourth Prince knocked on the bed twice more, this time his voice was gentle and soothing, with a persuasive quality.

“Duoduo, I was wrong about what happened just now. Come out now. You’re not a little baby anymore. Why do you hide under the bed every time something happens? If Su Peisheng finds out about this, I don’t know how he’ll laugh at you behind your back.”

“Su Peisheng is still waiting at the door. If you keep hiding, I’ll get angry too.”

Duofu's tummy was already rumbling. He hadn't eaten much last night, just some drinks and fruit, plus the hard work he did all night.

He hadn't felt anything a moment ago, but now he felt like his four paws weren't his own; they were limp and weak.

Duofu overheard the pet owner outside saying that Su Peisheng was still standing at the door. Did Su Peisheng know about everything that happened last night?

If that's the case, how can he possibly live with himself?

This is something that only the two of them should know, but Su Peisheng absolutely cannot know about it.

How can he face people like this? How can he be Su Peisheng's little ancestor?

Duofu was so anxious that his tail was practically twitching. He didn't want to have any other relationship with the Fourth Prince. Being brothers or pets would be fine too.
