Qiao Zhen looked at Chen Siyuan as she stood up, "Was I too obvious?"
"Sigh!" Chen Siyuan sighed. "It's so good to have met you in the capital." At least she has a chance to catch her breath and not get too tired.
She always knew she came with a mission: to help everyone live well, and she has always been working hard to do so.
"Sister-in-law, I'm a little short on money lately, could you please help me?" Qiao Zhen said, counting on her fingers.
Chen Siyuan smiled; it seemed she had learned a lot behind the scenes to make herself happy.
As the legitimate wife, Madam Qiao had not mistreated her children born out of wedlock, and therefore had no need for Qiao Zhen to act this way.
I found it funny as I watched it.
Chunping acted swiftly, pulling out a silver note worth one thousand taels.
Qiao Zhen held it in her hand, her eyes wide with disbelief. She couldn't believe that her sister-in-law was so generous.
“Sister-in-law, you are really generous.” Qiao Zhen looked at the silver notes without the slightest greed. “I met a few maids who said that you are generous. I thought they were joking, but it turns out it’s true.”
Chen Siyuan looked over.
"Don't flaunt your wealth, sister-in-law. You'd better be careful. Besides, some maids might develop bad intentions if you give them too much." Chen Siyuan was too kind and shouldn't be gossiped about.
"Okay, I understand." Chen Siyuan said, taking back the silver note from Qiao Zhen's hand and putting it back into Chunping's hand.
Chunping was quite surprised that the young mistress had actually gotten the money back. However, Qiao Zhen was right.
The two talked for a long time, and then Jiang Ma prepared a sumptuous dinner. Just as they were about to start eating, Mrs. Qiao arrived.
They quickly stood up and bowed, and what was supposed to be a dinner for two became a dinner for three.
The meal was rather quiet this time. When Mrs. Qiao left after the meal, she took Qiao Zhen with her.
Jiang Ma approached Chen Siyuan and asked, "Young Madam, what brings you here?" It seemed she had come specifically to capture Qiao Zhen.
Chen Siyuan thought for a moment, then found Wang Li and said, "Go and find out who Qiao Zhen has been in contact with recently."
