Chapter 31 Reaction

“Young Master Qiao is truly remarkable; there’s a reason why he would ask for something back after giving it away.” Chen Siyuan wasn’t afraid at all.

This person is not the Ghost-Faced General yet, so his current identity must be quite extraordinary. He must be surrounded by countless sycophants. If she were like that, she was certain that she would soon become a dead soul in his hands.

Since she came, she certainly didn't come to her death.

There's no need to flatter anymore. The only thing she can do is be direct and use Wenjue's name. She's quite good at that.

"Miss Chen, there's no reason for me, Qiao Yuchen, to take back what I've given away." As the man spoke, he exuded a powerful and imposing aura, a domineering presence befitting someone in power.

Chen Siyuan was startled; he truly lived up to his reputation as the Ghost-Faced General five years later.

Its deterrent power is truly extraordinary!

"So that's how it is. It seems I misunderstood." Chen Siyuan softened her voice as she spoke, then reached out her hand. "I think Young Master Qiao is a man of his word. Shouldn't you return my things?"

"Heh...hehe..." Qiao Yuchen laughed.

He knew she was a cunning woman, but he never expected her to be so self-righteous.

However, the woman reacted quickly enough; if she were thrown into the Qiao family's fox den, it would probably cause a huge uproar.

Thinking of this, I took a closer look at this woman. She was shameless and had some brains. More importantly, her aura was comparable to those of those foxes.

"If Young Master Qiao is reluctant to part with it, then so be it," Chen Siyuan said, turning to leave.

Since it's not your own stuff, it's normal for someone to 'take' it back.

Qiao Yuchen smiled and raised his hand, waving the handkerchief in his hand.

Chen Siyuan stopped in her tracks and looked at Qiao Yuchen.

She recognized her own handkerchief, but wondered how it had ended up in this man's hands.

If this gets out, her reputation will be ruined for life.

She doesn't realize now that if her grandmother knew, she would be incredibly worried.

Thinking of this, Chen Siyuan wanted to go and snatch the handkerchief, but she didn't want to get too excited and pounce on it. Qiao Yuchen felt that this was not good, so he rushed over in a flash.

The final result was that she threw herself into his arms.

"Young Miss—" Chunping exclaimed in surprise when she saw her at the door. She tried to rush over, but was stopped.

"Let go!" Chen Siyuan snapped angrily.

She was grateful to the man who saved her, but why was he holding her so tightly and refusing to let go?

She tried to break free several times, but the man only held her tighter.

After a while, Chen Siyuan got angry and didn't know how to break free. Suddenly, she noticed the man's change and became even angrier. She raised her hand and slapped him hard across the face.

Where there were originally only four people, more than a dozen people dressed in black suddenly appeared out of nowhere. They surrounded Chen Siyuan, their sharp points pointing directly at her.

Seeing that things were going badly, Chunping rushed over without regard for the risk of injury.

He reached out to snatch the person from Qiao Yuchen's hands, but was swept aside by a gust of wind that seemed to come from nowhere.

Bang--

Chunping's body flew out and crashed into the doorway, where she immediately passed out.

Chen Siyuan was terrified by this scene, but even more so, she felt humiliated.

This man actually reacted to her, damn it.

"You bastard!" Chen Siyuan blushed, whether from anger or embarrassment.

"Get down!" Qiao Yuchen was also quite surprised. He said this with a cold face.

The people who had just appeared vanished instantly, even Wang Yong, who was standing at the door, took the unconscious Chunping away and closed the door.

After closing the door, Wang Yong ignored the woman lying on the ground. He was more curious that someone had hit their master but hadn't died on the spot; it was truly strange.

Thinking of how Princess Honglian accidentally touched the hem of her master's robe, and how her master immediately cut off the robe, and how Princess Honglian was still lying on the bed, not waking up.

"Let me go." Chen Siyuan tried to break free, but her movements were ineffective; instead, the hug became even tighter.

The two bodies were pressed tightly together.

"I won't let go!" Qiao Yuchen said, carrying the woman to a seat.

"You..." Chen Siyuan was so angry she was practically fuming.

“If you keep moving around, I can’t guarantee anything…” Qiao Yuchen said in a deep voice.

He was also quite surprised.

He hadn't felt anything until now, not even towards this woman. At first, it was because she saved him, but later he thought she was cunning. He never expected that he would actually have a reaction to her.

Seeing the woman's disdainful look, he smiled bitterly to himself.

Is he being a jerk?

He felt disgusted by so many women throwing themselves at him, but he was attracted to this person instead?

Chen Siyuan initially wanted to get down, but then she sensed the man's change and didn't dare to move, so she could only let the man hold her.

Fortunately, after a while, the man finally let go, and the moment her feet touched the ground, she ran away as fast as she could.

Chen Siyuan was unaware of how fast she was running. Chunping, who had just woken up and had not fully recovered, started chasing after the young lady, but eventually could only see a shadow.

When she finally arrived at the warm house, the door was already closed.

When Chunlan returned, she saw Chunping standing at the door, tears streaming down her face, and no matter how she asked, she wouldn't say anything.

This situation made Chunlan even more worried.

Chen Siyuan didn't know how to describe her feelings at that moment.

She was the one being bullied, yet she couldn't fight back.

Having experienced many things in her past life, she has a deep understanding of men's inherent flaws.

Thinking about this made her even angrier. That man looked so respectable, yet he was so vulgar.

He hid inside the house and refused to go out.

Later, when she got hungry and heard a sound coming from the door, Chen Siyuan let Chunlan and Chunping in.

The two of them came in and set out the meal for the young lady without saying a word.

After dinner, Chen Siyuan stayed quietly in the warm room, never leaving for a moment.

Having experienced what happened last time, none of the maids and servants in the warm quarters dared to say a word.

They just felt that the young lady was acting strangely today, but no one dared to say anything.

Chen Siyuan acted like a coward.

They stay in the warm house all day long and can't leave it for a moment.

Chunlan and Chunping were even more worried.

I was worried that the young lady might do something rash, but then I saw her spending all day in the study writing and drawing, not knowing what she was doing, and it seemed like she had something on her mind.

Chunping, who was already silent, became even more silent.

She knew that if this got out, the marriage between the eldest daughter and the Tao family would be completely called off, and not only that, the eldest daughter's reputation would be ruined.

She secretly resented that someone was heartless; the young lady had kindly saved the other person, but unexpectedly, this was how they repaid her kindness.

If she had known this would happen, she should have stopped him that day and let him die.
