Everyone was terrified when they saw this.
The entire North Garden began to bustle with activity.
They were relieved after confirming that Chen Siyuan was truly asleep and had no discomfort.
Chen Siyuan slept for two days straight.
During this time, Chunping was very worried, so she called Dr. Shi to confirm that he was really just asleep, which put them at ease.
The third day.
Chen Siyuan finally woke up.
She saw Chunlan and Chunping with red, swollen eyes from crying, and said, "What are you doing? Anyone who didn't know better would think I was bullying you."
Having slept well and feeling refreshed, Chen Siyuan was in the mood to joke around.
"Young Madam, have some drink to tide you over." Old Mrs. Jiang knew a lot; she knew that someone who had slept for so long should eat something before getting up.
Chen Siyuan was very obedient. She also felt that her stomach was empty. After eating, she felt very full.
Only then did she realize something was wrong. "Why am I so tired?"
“Young Madam, you’ve been sleeping for two days now,” Chunlan said.
Chen Siyuan slowly recalled what had happened.
"Where's Grandmother? Where's my eldest brother? Are they alright?"
“They’re all alright,” Chunping said.
"It's alright, it's alright."
As Chen Siyuan said this, after finishing her meal, she hurriedly dressed and took a carriage to the Chen family home, disregarding the fact that it was already late.
On the way, Wang Li recounted everything that had happened in the past few days.
News came from the palace that the emperor was critically ill, and that Chen Siyuan had saved him with a good medicine.
Upon hearing this, Chen Siyuan gripped the amber earrings in her hand even tighter; she had snatched them from the Emperor.
She didn't expect that the emperor wouldn't be angry, but instead, such a rumor spread.
She didn't know what the emperor was planning to do, and it all seemed very uncertain.
This is because this person is the emperor who controls the life and death of others.
Everything can be resolved with a single word. A kind word can elevate even the most powerful and influential, while an unkind word can lead to immediate execution.
With mixed feelings, Chen Siyuan arrived at the Chen family home by carriage.
Upon arriving at the Chen family's residence, she immediately headed towards Fushou Garden.
Upon seeing her grandmother in the courtyard, Chen Siyuan excitedly ran over.
When Madam Chen saw her granddaughter, she was overjoyed.
"Alright, alright, it's all in the past."
Upon hearing that Chen Siyuan had arrived, Chen Luyang hurried over.
As soon as he stepped into the courtyard and saw the two embracing, his eyes welled up with tears.
Only now, having reached this point, does Chen Luyang realize how insignificant he truly is.
He will never reach a height he can achieve in his entire life.
Thinking back to that day, I feel quite ashamed.
He originally thought that his experiences over this period of time would allow him to see through the danger behind the matter at a glance, but who would have thought that he would be detained by someone.
After calming down, Chen Siyuan let go of her grandmother, made sure she was alright, and wanted to hug her again and cry.
She realized that sometimes tears are more effective than any words.
She just wanted to vent her grievances and fears.
"Alright, you've become a miracle doctor, why are you still crying?" Old Madam Chen advised.
Chen Siyuan felt a little embarrassed after hearing this.
She did nothing, yet she became a legendary doctor. I wonder what the emperor was thinking.
Seeing that her grandmother was perfectly healthy, she did not intend to tell anyone about it.
My grandmother is old; I don't know how she will react when she hears what happened.
“Yuan’er—” Chen Luyang, standing beside him, couldn’t help but speak.
Chen Siyuan turned her head and saw Chen Luyang. She looked him over to make sure he was alright, then let go of her grandmother and smiled at him.
"Big brother."
Old Madam Chen is an experienced woman; she has seen her grandson's condition these past few days, and there are many things she won't say in front of others.
"Alright, let's talk inside first."
Madam Chen led Chen Siyuan inside, and Chen Luyang followed.
Lin Ma served them tea and pastries and left quickly.
Only when there were only the three of them did Old Madam Chen speak.
"How did you become a miracle doctor?"
Chen Siyuan didn't know how to explain. Meeting her grandmother's worried gaze, she could only say, "I have a folk remedy."
"How did His Majesty find out?"
Chen Siyuan thought for a moment and then said, "The Emperor was unconscious. He didn't know that it was Physician Huang who, when he and Doctor Shi were treating the plague in Xuzhou, mentioned that I had some folk remedies. Under those circumstances, they secretly brought me into the palace."
That was the only explanation Chen Siyuan could give; she dared not tell the truth to Old Madam Chen.
Chen Luyang watched from the side and noticed his sister's somewhat evasive gaze. He understood what was going on but didn't say anything.
Madam Chen seemed to believe this explanation.
Dr. Shi had a special relationship with Chen Siyuan.
She saw all of this clearly.
"That's good, that's good. It's best not to go to the palace in the future," Old Madam Chen advised from the side.
"I know." The cannibalistic palace was a place she didn't want to step into unless absolutely necessary.
The palace was full of traps, and she worried that even if she got in, she might not be able to leave alive.
And the Emperor's attitude towards her was making her so angry she was practically fuming.
"Grandmother, I have something to say to Yuan'er." Chen Luyang couldn't wait any longer.
He was very worried about what had happened to the Chen family and the palace that day when he was detained. He didn't know how much longer he could hold on if he didn't find out something soon.
"You two talk, I'll go prepare something to eat for you." Old Madam Chen stood up and said to Lin Ma, who was standing outside. Soon, the two of them went to the kitchen together.
