"elder sister--"
"Sister," that title sounds so familiar. Suddenly, she thought of the Third Prince's son. She hadn't seen him in a long time. She wondered how he was doing.
Since they separated, they only met once more when the Third Prince married Qiao Zhen, and they have never seen each other since.
I wonder how she is doing lately?
"Sister—" the child spoke again.
"Is there something you need?" Chen Siyuan asked, bending down.
"There's an older brother over there looking for you."
Chen Siyuan looked in the direction the child was pointing and saw many people. She couldn't tell which one was his brother. She wondered if she had mistaken him for someone else or if the child was too young to understand. She didn't think much of it. Then she saw a candy vendor nearby and wanted to buy one for the child. Suddenly, out of the corner of her eye, she saw the direction of the second floor.
Suddenly, her eyes widened.
Someone actually contacted him; it was Shang Zizhen, whom he had just thought of.
Thinking it over, she looked at Chunping and said, "Buy some good food for this child." With that, she quickly walked towards the restaurant not far away.
Chunlan immediately chased after her.
Chen Siyuan arrived on the second floor, stood at the door, looked at Shang Zizhen inside who was like a little adult, and smiled slightly.
What are you doing here?
"Sister, you don't seem surprised to see me!" Shang Zizhen jumped off the chair and walked towards Chen Siyuan.
He had always been a very serious person, but in front of Chen Siyuan, he naturally became a child.
"What's so surprising?" Chen Siyuan asked back.
"Does my sister miss me?"
Chen Siyuan smiled and didn't say anything. She just looked at the child in front of her. He seemed to be the same as before, but now he was obviously a little adult.
I remember Qiao Zhen saying that he no longer lives in the Third Prince's residence.
Chen Siyuan didn't know where he lived, nor could she ask. She pinched his cheek and said, "You've lost weight."
"Sister—" Shang Zizhen felt very wronged, her eyes reddened, but she stubbornly refused to let the tears fall.
Chen Siyuan glanced at Chunlan beside her.
Chunlan immediately went to stand guard outside the door.
Shang Zizhen's men followed as well.
The large room was empty except for the two of them. Chen Siyuan gently pulled Shang Zizhen into her arms. "Sister said that in front of me, you can cry if you want to cry, and laugh if you want to laugh."
"Sister, I miss you."
"I miss you as well."
Chen Siyuan knew that during this time, not knowing what had happened around her child was obviously not a good thing.
Considering his future status, he will have to go through many things.
If he were too naive, how could he have held onto that position?
There are many things that are beyond her reach. The only thing she can do is, if allowed, stay with the child when he feels lonely.
Shang Zi was a child, but not an ordinary one. He quickly composed himself, wiped away his tears, and took a step back. "Sister, can we watch the moon together today?"
Chen Siyuan thought about it for a moment and it seemed a bit inappropriate, but when she met his little eyes, she still agreed.
The two enjoyed their meal and then waited for the moon to appear in the sky.
Unfortunately, the weather is bad today; it's gloomy and looks like it's going to rain.
The two looked at the dark night sky from upstairs, feeling somewhat lost.
"elder sister--"
"It's okay, if we can't watch it today, there's always tomorrow." Chen Siyuan took the opportunity to touch his hair.
Will I ever see my sister again?
"If you want, you should be able to." He didn't say it with much certainty, but given what had happened between the Seventh Prince and the Third Prince, it was best not to meet for a while.
She couldn't bear to hurt a child's feelings.
Chen Siyuan was unaware that her actions today indirectly saved someone's life.
"Is what my sister said true?"
"It should be."
"Sister is lying." Shang Zi was indeed a child, but not an ordinary one. These uncertain words made him somewhat dissatisfied.
Chen Siyuan liked the child even more for his domineering presence at such a young age.
"You child, you're clearly a child, but you look like an adult!"
Such praise instantly made Shang Zizhen smile.
"That's right. Don't always have a long face. Smile more when you have nothing to do. No matter what happens, as long as your heart is sweet, life won't be too hard."
"Um."
"Your sister didn't agree because she wasn't sure. If your sister gets sick, do you expect her to come see you while she's ill?"
"......."
“Many things, under certain circumstances, cannot be absolutely possible.” As she spoke, she smiled slightly at him. “Like tonight, we can’t see the moon, but does that mean it’s not just one night? Even if it rains later, do you think rain is bad?”
"Is it good if it rains?"
"When it rains, the crops can be irrigated, and thus the crops can have a good harvest."
"I understand."
"That's good, you..." Chen Siyuan said, when Chunlan knocked on the door from outside, followed by her voice, "Young Madam, the young general is drunk and causing a scene, you see..."
Hearing this, Chen Siyuan looked at Shang Zizhen and clearly saw a change in his gaze. Chen Siyuan knew she should leave. "Sister has something to attend to and must go first. Let's look at the moon again next time, okay?"
"Is my sister leaving?"
"My sister has people she needs to take care of."
"Does my sister not like me anymore?"
“I like it, but I have to go take care of a drunkard now.” Chen Siyuan said, patting Shang Zizhen’s hair. “Zhen’er, take care of yourself. If there’s anything I can help you with, you can come to the General’s Mansion to find me.”
