Chapter 104 Is this enough money?

The little dumpling lowered its head in grievance, its fingers intertwined, remaining silent.

Fan Hai scratched his head helplessly, unsure how to appease the little guy in front of him.

The little dumpling glanced at him and said in a soft voice, "I need to go to the toilet, you're not allowed to follow me."

Fan Hai thought she really had an upset stomach, so he nodded in agreement.

He patted the little girl's back a few times, and a package stuck to her back without her noticing.

Fan Hai stood up and said:

"Then go ahead, I'll go get you some medicine."

The little dumpling secretly smiled when it heard that he was no longer following it.

After Fan Hai left, the little dumpling immediately took off running.

However, she didn't run towards the outhouse, but rather towards a direction away from the Mu family's study, hoping to find the back door of the house and then sneak out onto the street.

Unfortunately, the Mu family mansion was too big, and the little dumpling soon got lost and disoriented.

Exhausted, she leaned against a tree, panting heavily.

The little dumpling wiped the sweat from his face, but inadvertently glanced at a woman walking over from not far away.

Once she could see the person's face clearly, the little dumpling immediately hid behind a tree, cautiously peeking out half of her head.

Mu Ran walked quickly, glancing back cautiously every now and then.

She changed out of the clothes of a maid from the Mu family and put on the clothes of an ordinary commoner.

Seeing Mu Ran acting suspiciously, the little dumpling couldn't help but wonder—what is Sister Mu Ran up to?

Her brother has already rescued her mother and younger brother. Is she going to see them now?

But why did you have to sneak around like a thief when you went to see your mother and brother?

With these questions in mind, the little dumpling tiptoed after her.

Fortunately, she was small and easy to hide, and Mu Ran didn't find her along the way.

The little dumpling followed Mu Ran to a door, which looked like the back door of the Mu family.

Mu Ran seemed to have calculated the time in advance; it was the time for the guards at the back gate to change shifts, so there was no one else there.

Mu Ran seized the opportunity, pushed open the back door, and ran out.

After she left, the little dumpling also squeezed out through the crack in the door.

After leaving the Mu family's residence and walking for a while, the little dumpling arrived at the bustling market.

Neatly arranged pavilions and towers line both sides of the street, and vendors with their carts propped up are calling out to attract customers coming and going, creating a lively and bustling atmosphere.

The little dumpling excitedly weaved through the crowd, wanting to see everything and buy everything.

Unfortunately, she wanted to know what Mu Ran was up to, so she had to suppress the urge to spend money and continue to secretly follow Mu Ran.

Mu Ran walked briskly, and the little dumpling almost ran alongside her as they arrived in front of a restaurant.

The Nanfu Restaurant has four floors and is one of the most magnificent restaurants in the capital. Today, the owner even invited an opera troupe to perform, and the restaurant was packed with people and very lively.

The little dumpling watched Mu Ran walk into the restaurant and followed her.

But as soon as she approached the restaurant, two burly waiters stopped her.

One of the servants, a bearded man with dark skin, looked down at the little boy and said in a very unfriendly tone:

"Where did this little brat come from? This is no place for you. Get out of here."

Another person, with slightly fairer skin, crossed his arms over his chest, looking disdainful.

"Do you know where this place is? You probably can't even afford a cup of tea. Get out of here and don't delay our business."

The little dumpling looked at the little black one on the left, then at the little white one on the right, put its hands on its hips, and said without any fear:

"I can afford it, please let me in."

The two were surprised that the little guy wasn't afraid of them at all.

Xiao Hei flexed his thick arms at her and said, "I can knock you out with one punch. If you don't want to get beaten up, you'd better get lost."

People entering the restaurant nearby all turned to look at the little dumpling, and spoke up without any hesitation:

"Whose child is this! So disobedient, sneaking out all by themselves."

“That’s right!” someone chimed in. “They insisted on coming in, look at them, they’re just like a newborn calf that doesn’t fear a tiger.”

"Hmph, she'll probably start crying and making a scene later, which is the most annoying thing."

"You think the waiters at Nanfu Restaurant are pushovers? Just lest you actually get beaten up!"

The little dumpling huffed in protest; she wasn't going to cry and make a fuss!

Daddy said I have to be a good baby.

Hearing the passerby's words, Xiao Hei said sarcastically to the little dumpling:

"Did you hear me? If you don't want to get beaten up, then leave."

The little dumpling only took out a silver ingot from the pouch at her waist. She thought that drinking a pot of tea shouldn't cost too much money, so she didn't take the gold ingot inside.

This is the pocket money that the old Marquis gave her when he came to see her this morning. He said that once she finishes writing the article, she can buy whatever she wants to eat.

The little dumpling never expected that a bag of pocket money would come in handy so quickly.

The little dumpling handed a coin, as big as her palm, to Little Black and Little White, saying:

"I'd like a pot of tea. Is this enough money?"

When Xiao Hei saw the silver, his little eyes widened instantly.
