The little dumpling climbed down from the tree, and apart from her little hands being scraped and bleeding a little, she was not injured at all.
She was still carrying a kite in her arms, but it was broken when she climbed down from the tree.
Su Ruiling looked at the little dumpling's hand with heartache.
"Your kite is gone, your aunt will get you a new one. Why did you climb the tree by yourself! Look at your little hands, they're all bleeding!"
Su Ruiling's heart was still pounding. She was terrified when she saw the little dumpling in the tree.
I was afraid she might accidentally fall.
After all, she had injured herself climbing a tree before, and she didn't want her little one to suffer the same injury.
The little dumpling smiled easily and said, "It's okay, Auntie, look, I'm perfectly fine now."
The little dumpling gave Su Ruiling a cute hug.
She took Su Ruiling's hand and said, "Auntie, hurry up! There are bad guys on the other side of the wall. Let's go catch them."
Su Ruiling's face immediately turned cold when she thought about how someone had thrown stones at the little dumpling.
Su Ruiling looked around. This was Fuyang Palace, the former palace of Princess Zhaochun.
This place has been vacant since Princess Zhaochun got married.
However, Su Ruiling did not arrange for the newlyweds to stay here. She reserved this place for Princess Zhaochun so that she could bring her husband back to the capital to visit her family.
Su Ruiling calculated that the last time Princess Zhaochun returned to the capital was four years ago.
Many things happened that year: a palace coup in the capital, and Princess Yuening's disappearance.
Recalling the past, Su Ruiling's mood became heavy.
She led the little dumpling into Fuyang Palace, where everything remained exactly as it had always been.
She kept palace maids to clean the Fuyang Palace, so even though it was vacant for four years, the palace remained clean and tidy.
The little dumpling found the tree it had been standing under, relying on its memory.
Yin Huan and the other two were still standing there, glaring angrily at the foolish palace maid by the wall.
Granny Chang frowned and shouted, "Her Majesty the Empress has arrived!"
Upon hearing this, the three people, including Yin Huan, immediately knelt down, trembling, to pay their respects, not daring to raise their heads even once.
First it was Princess Rongchang, and now it's the Empress! What are we going to do?
Yin Huan thought that rather than waiting for the Empress to interrogate her, she should beg for mercy first.
She knelt on the ground and kowtowed three times.
"Your Majesty, spare my life! Your Highness, spare my life! I was blind and did not mean to offend you. I beg Your Majesty and Your Highness to spare my life."
She spoke earnestly and even cried, a stark contrast to her arrogant demeanor just moments before.
Chunrong and Qiuyue also kowtowed and begged for mercy.
Su Ruiling looked at them coldly, without a trace of pity in her eyes.
When they threw stones at the little dumpling, they didn't think about whether they might hurt the little dumpling's life.
"Granny Chang, take her away. You have full authority to deal with her."
Given Su Ruiling's status, why would she be entangled with three palace maids?
"Yes!" Granny Chang replied.
She summoned several palace maids, who dragged the three of them away.
Granny Chang kicked Yin Huan in the buttocks.
"You blind fools, daring to harm our little princess! You'll never have a good life again!"
Granny Chang tied up the three of them and threw them into the laundry department, instructing the manager to "take good care" of them.
After Yin Huan and the other two left, the little dumpling came to the side of the silly palace maid.
She peeked her little head in front of the silly palace maid and whispered words of comfort:
"Sister, don't be afraid, the bad guys have all been caught."
The silly palace maid covered the wound on her face and sobbed. She heard someone talking to her and shook her head to look over curiously.
A beautifully sculpted baby was standing in front of her, its innocent face showing no malice.
The simple-minded palace maid glanced at her a few times, then nodded slightly and said:
"Mmm...the bad guys...they've taken him away..."
Seeing the foolish palace maid's appearance, Su Ruiling knew that she had lost her mind, so she asked the palace maids around her.
"Does any of you know who she is? How did she end up like this?"
The strange news that there was a fool in the palace had already spread among the palace maids and eunuchs; no servant was unfamiliar with her.
A palace maid stepped forward and answered Su Ruiling: "Your Majesty, her name is Mu Ran. She lost her mind four years ago and became like this."
Su Ruiling continued, "Has she always served in Fuyang Palace?"
The palace maid nodded. "Yes, she originally served Princess Zhaochun."
Upon hearing this, the simple-minded palace maid named Mu Ran murmured repeatedly, "Princess Zhaochun...Princess Zhaochun..."
Mu Ran read it several times.
Suddenly, as if she had been greatly frightened, she grabbed her hair wildly with both hands and screamed wildly.
Seeing that she suddenly lost control, Su Ruiling immediately took the little dumpling in front of her.
The little boy was startled by Mu Ran and clung tightly to Su Ruiling's neck, snuggling into her arms and asking, "Auntie, what's wrong with her?"
Su Ruiling patted the little girl's back and comforted her, "Don't be afraid, don't be afraid, your aunt will ask the imperial physician to take a look at her."
The little dumpling looked at the crazed Mu Ran and silently activated its diagnostic eyes.
Apart from the serious head injury Mu Ran had suffered, the little dumpling did not see any other abnormalities on her.
However, what terrified the little girl was that she noticed Mu Ran's body was becoming distorted.
Why?
She appears perfectly normal on the surface, but when you activate your Divine Eye of Observation, you'll find that her body is twisted and deformed.
It's like a snowman melting away little by little under the sun...
Su Ruiling ordered someone to summon the imperial physician and left several palace maids behind to take care of Mu Ran in case anything went wrong.
After giving her instructions, Su Ruiling saw that Mu Ran's emotions had not improved, so she had no choice but to leave with the little dumpling in her arms.
