The dark horse had been brought under control, and Mu Jinnian pulled Mu Ran to a stop.
As soon as she stopped, Mu Ran seemed to have all her strength drained away, and she collapsed to the ground, sobbing softly.
Mu Jinnian could tell from her appearance that she was in a state of extreme shock.
He could only pat Mu Ran on the shoulder and comfort her:
"The dark horse has been subdued, so don't be afraid."
Mu Ran's voice trembled as she said, "How could this happen? It's terrifying."
Mu Jinnian stepped back with one leg and half-squatted in front of Mu Ran.
He tilted his head to look at the crying Mu Ran and said:
"You seem to be quite frightened; you even cried with snot running down your face."
Mu Ran was stunned upon hearing this and quickly raised her arm to cover her face.
She was so scared that she was stunned. If Mu Jinnian hadn't reacted and pulled her away, she probably would have died under the horse's hooves.
Mu Ran was originally very grateful to Mu Jinnian, but after hearing what he just said, she felt ashamed and angry and didn't want to see him.
The handkerchief had been thrown away, so now Mu Ran could only wipe her face and snot with the back of her hand.
But she cried so hard that her nose felt like it was blocked, and snot kept running down her face.
When Mu Jinnian saw her face covered in snot and tears, Mu Ran just wanted to dig a hole and run away.
Left with no other choice, Mu Ran had to ask Mu Jinnian.
"Do you...do you have a handkerchief?"
Mu Jinnian shrugged. "Why would a grown man like me carry that thing?"
When Mu Jinnian saw her embarrassing state, Mu Ran cried even harder.
Mu Jinnian had no choice but to hand over his sleeve and say, "Use this to wipe it."
Mu Ran quickly shook her head.
How could she wipe it with his sleeve? That would get his clothes dirty.
Mu Ran could only wipe her tears with the back of her hand.
But the back of my hand wasn't enough; the more I smeared, the messier it became.
Mu Jinnian saw that the more she wiped, the messier it got, and all she could do was shake her head without saying a word.
He simply rolled up his sleeve and wiped away her tears himself.
Mu Ran was stunned when Mu Jinnian took the initiative to wipe away her tears, especially with his own sleeve. She stared at him blankly, feeling confused and helpless.
The girl in front of me had red eyes and an adorable, innocent look. At that moment, she resembled a dazed little lamb.
After wiping away her tears, Mu Jinnian stood up and said to the little lamb, "Alright, stop crying, or I'll get this sleeve dirty too."
Mu Ran blushed and could only obediently nod.
Mu Jinchen walked in carrying the little dumpling, still holding the handkerchief from earlier.
Mu Jinchen handed the handkerchief to Mu Ran and asked:
What smell is on it?
Mu Jinnian quickly realized what his elder brother was asking.
"Brother, you mean the scent on this handkerchief irritated the black horse? That's why it suddenly went berserk just now?"
When Mu Jinnian wiped her face with a handkerchief, she did smell a odor on it. The odor was not pleasant; it was bitter with a sour taste.
Mu Ran took the handkerchief and replied:
"It's moss. I like the smell of moss, so I put it on my handkerchief."
The little dumpling stuck out its tongue and said:
"The smell of moss is unpleasant."
Mu Ran: "Many people don't like the smell of moss, but I quite like it. It's bitter and sour."
This is very much like her life.
Mu Ran didn't say the last sentence.
Mu Jinchen seemed to be deep in thought. He hadn't expected to learn today that moss had such a strong stimulating effect on horses.
Even a well-trained horse can't withstand this stimulation.
If this were used on the battlefield, it would be a fatal blow!
...
Mu Jinnian originally wanted the little dumpling to ride the horse for a while longer, but after riding two laps, the little guy just kept complaining that he was hungry.
Mu Jinnian and Mu Jinchen had no choice but to take her home.
"Daddy, Daddy, I'm back!" As soon as he got home, the little dumpling called out to Mu Tingzheng loudly.
When she saw Mu Ting practicing calligraphy, she skipped and hopped towards him.
Mu Ting saw his adorable daughter running towards him and quickly reached out to catch her.
"Sweetie, slow down, don't fall."
The little dumpling jumped into Mu Ting's arms and rubbed its face against his chin.
After rubbing against it a few times, the little one covered his face and said pitifully, "Daddy's beard is so prickly!"
Mu Tingzheng stroked his chin and laughed, "Daddy forgot to shave these past few days, so it's gotten a bit long."
After saying that, he deliberately moved closer to the little girl and touched her with his stubble.
The little dumpling quickly tried to back away, but was caught by her father.
"Bad daddy, you stabbed me."
Mu Ting chuckled, like a mischievous child.
Seeing that her father wouldn't stop, the little dumpling had no choice but to open her mouth and bite his chin.
Mu Tingzheng quickly raised his hand to admit defeat.
"Surrender, Father surrenders."
The little dumpling then let go of its mouth, waving its hands with a smile.
"Hehe, I won."
After saying that, she placed her hand on her stomach again.
"Daddy, I'm hungry. When are we going to eat?"
Mu Tingzheng picked her up with one arm and said:
"Come on, Daddy will take you to eat now."
"Yay, I want to eat four bowls!"
"No! You can only eat one bowl!"
"Waaah, can I have three bowls?"
"Two bowls, only two bowls!"
The little dumpling was carried into the dining hall by Mu Tingzheng. Among a group of family members, she saw the person she least wanted to see.
When Madam Bai saw the little dumpling, her smiling face immediately froze.
She had already heard everything that this little girl had said to the Princess Consort of the South in the palace!
