Chapter 88 Dust

Feng Beichuan was so focused on keeping up with the person in front of him that he didn't notice that there was someone following behind him.

Deputy General Sun followed behind, looking at the back of the person in front of him, and felt that the person looked very familiar.

Who exactly is this person?

After thinking for a long time, Deputy General Sun still couldn't come up with an answer.

"Whoa—"

Just as he was racking his brains trying to figure it out, Li Chang'an suddenly pulled on the reins and stopped.

Feng Beichuan panicked. He looked left and right and found that there was no suitable place to hide on this road. As long as the person in front turned around, they would be able to see him at a glance.

However, it was only a moment of panic, and his emotions returned to normal afterward.

So what if I get caught? At worst, it's just a coincidence! Anyway, I'm not a bad person.

Thinking this way gave me more confidence.

Li Chang'an suddenly turned halfway around, and at the same time, a dark, grimy bundle was thrown from her hands.

Feng Beichuan only saw something flying towards him, and that thing seemed to have some weight to it.

He inwardly cried out in alarm and narrowly dodged the attack.

Then he heard a muffled thud; the bundle hadn't hit him, but it had hit the horse he was riding.

The horse was clearly terrified. After neighing, it immediately reared up on its two front hooves, which continued to kick as it stood up.

Feng Beichuan swayed on horseback, his palms sweating profusely.

"You scoundrel, where do you think you're going to run to!"

The current crisis was not yet over when another angry shout came from behind.

Deputy General Sun rode his horse toward the man in front, a smug smile on his face. He grabbed the thief by the collar, trying to pull him off the horse.

"stop!"

At this moment, Li Chang'an suddenly shouted something to Deputy General Sun, and then rode his horse toward the two of them.

The woman was as light as a swallow; with a light touch of her toes, she leaped off the horse and gracefully landed on Feng Beichuan's horse.

Immediately, Li Chang'an gripped the reins tightly, his legs clamping firmly around the horse's belly. After a loud shout, the frightened horse finally regained its footing.

At first, Deputy General Sun was still confused about what was going on, but when he saw the thief's face, he was speechless with astonishment.

"Phoenix Dog... how could it be you?"

Deputy General Sun stared blankly at the face before him, a face he knew all too well.

Why is that scoundrel following them?

"Cough cough cough... Could you please let me go first?"

Feng Beichuan really disliked the feeling of being grabbed by the back of his collar.

Only then did Deputy General Sun realize that he still had the man in his hands, so he awkwardly let go, dismounted, and picked up the bundle that had rolled far away on the ground.

He reached out and patted off the dust, then remounted his horse and tied up the bundle.

"What is that?"

Seeing his appearance, Feng Beichuan couldn't help but feel curious.

"This is a yellow-feathered chicken I picked out at the market. I had the vendor pluck and butcher it. What's wrong with you?"

Deputy General Sun frowned, feeling that Feng Beichuan was looking down on the chicken he had carefully selected.

"Uh, no problem..."

After hearing Deputy General Sun's explanation, Feng Beichuan couldn't help but twitch his lips. He then looked at Li Chang'an, who had a cold expression, and thought that this woman was truly terrifying.

She can use anything as a weapon!

Fortunately, he reacted quickly and wasn't hit by the chicken; otherwise, he might have been traumatized by chickens for the rest of his life.

Li Chang'an had no intention of paying any attention to this lunatic. She nimbly dismounted and stood on the ground, arms crossed, looking at the man on horseback with an impatient expression.

"What are your intentions in following us?"

His tone was full of accusation.

Feng Beichuan felt somewhat humiliated; he had the feeling of being caught red-handed for doing something wrong.

"Don't be so serious. If I said it was a coincidence..."

"Get lost!"

Feng Beichuan tried to explain with a smile, but Li Chang'an cut him off halfway through his sentence.

Li Chang'an rolled his eyes twice at him.

What a load of nonsense!

"Oh dear, you ran too fast! You disappeared in the blink of an eye. I had no choice but to do it..."

Feng Beichuan stubbornly continued with his feeble and weak explanation.

"Where I go is none of your business. Is the Regent just looking for trouble all day? If you're really that bored, you might as well drink a couple more jugs of water!"

Li Chang'an frowned and glared coldly at Feng Beichuan, silencing him with just a few words.

Feng Beichuan felt extremely wronged. Who said he had nothing to do all day? However, in his opinion, nothing was more important than the woman in front of him.

However, this made it difficult for Cangyun and Zhuque to run around and take care of their master's affairs every day.

"I'll count to three, then get out of here, or you'll regret it!"

Li Chang'an felt that he had reached his limit in his tolerance for this annoying guy.

"Hey, where are you going? Why don't you take me with you?"

However, the person was unaware of this. He even thought that Li Chang'an was just being stubborn and soft-hearted. He had just saved him from a horse being startled, so he wanted to continue to pester him shamelessly.

"Our general told you to get lost, so why aren't you getting lost now?"

Seeing Li Chang'an's increasingly grim expression, Deputy General Sun couldn't help but try to persuade this reckless guy.

Unfortunately, Li Chang'an made his move as soon as he finished speaking.

The woman leaped onto the horse's back, simultaneously grabbing Feng Beichuan's throat with one hand and forcefully pulling his arm down with the other.

Feng Beichuan was thrown to the ground.

A cloud of dust rose around him as Feng Beichuan coughed violently amidst the dust, his face, head, and body covered in yellow dirt.

"Cough cough cough...Ptooey!"

After a violent coughing fit, Feng Beichuan's face turned extremely pale, because he felt as if he had swallowed dirt.

But before he could deal with his current predicament, he was grabbed by Li Chang'an again.

Are you going to leave or not?

Li Chang'an gritted his teeth and stared straight at the man in front of him, each word he uttered sounding as if it were being squeezed out from between his teeth.

"I won't leave!"

A sinister, wicked laugh curled at the corner of the man's lips.

Vice General Sun watched in astonishment, truly having never seen such a shameless person before!

However, he did admire the guy's fearless courage and perseverance.

Feng Beichuan was determined to stick with Li Chang'an today, not for any particular reason, but because he had suddenly become stubborn and felt emboldened that since Li Chang'an couldn't kill him anyway, they might as well fight to the death.

Li Chang'an immediately threw the person he was holding onto the ground again.

Another cloud of yellow dust rose up around them.

Feng Beichuan got up from the ground with a smile on his face, making sure to carefully brush off the dust, straighten his collar and tidy his hair, as if the disheveled state he had just experienced had not happened to him.

"Your Highness isn't sending me away this time?"

Feng Beichuan once again sidled up to Li Chang'an with a grin.
