Love Guide
After Wen Lingyi returned from her business trip, Zhou Jianxing's life focus naturally shifted back to the Lanyue Bay Villa.
She always wore the Paraiba necklace close to her body. The cold gemstones against her skin were soon warmed up and became a habit.
She couldn't resist, so she secretly took a photo of the necklace and tried to search for the same one online, but she found nothing. Using the image search function, she could only vaguely understand that this neon blue-green gem was extremely rare and expensive.
My heart feels heavy, yet mixed with an indescribable sweetness.
Wen Lingyi gave her such an expensive gift without blinking an eye.
Her instinct of "not showing off wealth" made her extremely cautious. Now, even when she wore work clothes, she habitually buttoned her clothes to the top and hid the necklace tightly in her collar.
But the urge to show off was like a little bunny hopping inside her chest, and she couldn't help but want to tell everyone, look, this was specially chosen for her by the person she loved, and was put on her by that person himself.
It is not only a precious gem, but also a heavy heart.
"Aren't you hot?" In the tea room, Ajie, holding a cup of water, saw Zhou Jianxing wearing a neat, even somewhat tight work uniform. He couldn't help but frown and look at her. "It's summer, and you're wrapped up so tightly? Your husband is too controlling, isn't he? He won't let me show any flesh at all."
Zhou Jianxing looked around to make sure no one else was around, then he mysteriously pulled Ajie to a corner. He hooked his fingers around his collar and carefully pulled out the blue star pendant, showing it to him. He couldn't hide the smugness on his face: "Look, she gave it to me."
That look was like a kitten that finally got its most beloved toy and whose tail was about to reach the sky.
"Wow," Ajie took a closer look. Although he knew nothing about jewelry, the eye-catching colors and exquisite and unique design made it obvious that it was worth a lot of money. "You really managed to hook up with a rich man?" He always spoke directly, with a hint of sarcasm.
Zhou Jianxing immediately felt like someone had stepped on her tail. She quickly stuffed the necklace back and retorted gloomily, "Why are you saying such harsh words? I'm not being kept by someone..." She paused, her voice lowered, "It's just... a gift she gave me."
She also knew that this gift was too expensive, but looking at the unique star shape, she always felt that Wen Lingyi had put a lot of thought into choosing it specially for her.
Rejecting this kindness made her feel more uncomfortable than accepting this precious gift.
"By the way," Ajie suddenly changed the subject and asked out of the blue, "Are you not living at home anymore?"
Zhou Jianxing's face flushed, and his eyes wandered: "What's wrong?"
Ajie chuckled, "I was cleaning up at home the other day and found some good stuff. Since you're not living at home anymore, I'll see if I have time to go back this afternoon and bring it to you at the office."
Before leaving work, Ajie mysteriously slid a slightly worn paper bag into Zhou Jianxing's hand. Zhou Jianxing opened it suspiciously, revealing two books: "A Guide to Love" and "Teaching You How to Say Sweet Talk." The covers had a vintage feel, and the edges were a bit frayed.
"This thing... is it really useful?" Zhou Jianxing picked up the book "Teaching You How to Say Love Words", flipped through two pages, and looked at sentences like "Your eyes are like stars". He almost dug his toes out of the room.
Ajie patted his chest confidently, as if imparting some secret technique: "Of course! This was a great achievement when I was pursuing Xiaomin! Believe me, you need it more than I do."
He looked at Zhou Jianxing, a young man who was acting recklessly in his emotions based on instinct, and his tone was extremely certain.
Upon hearing this, Zhou Jianxing immediately straightened his demeanor and respectfully took the two "treasure books" with both hands, even bowing exaggeratedly at a 90-degree angle: "Thank you, Brother Jie! I will never forget your great kindness!"
"But," Ajie stroked his chin, shook his head, and put on an expression of serious regret, "I think there's a book that's actually more suitable for your current situation. Unfortunately, I don't have it here."
Zhou Jianxing immediately became nervous, his expression as serious as if he were listening to an important mission briefing: "What book? Tell me the name, and I'll find a way to buy it myself!"
Ah Jie suppressed a laugh and jokingly blurted out the title of the book, "Of course it's the famous 'How to Please a Rich Woman'!"
"Bah!" Zhou Jianxing reacted, picked up the book in his hand and slammed it firmly on Ajie's arm. "I'm asking you this seriously! You're so rude!"
After the commotion, Ajie's expression was unusually serious. "Honestly, Xingxing, there's something I really need your help with." He scratched his head, a slightly embarrassed expression on his face. "I'm planning on proposing to Xiaomin. We're both not young anymore, and her parents have mentioned it several times, both overtly and covertly."
"My dear brother, your lifelong happiness depends on this. Can't you, as a member of your family, be so righteous?"
Zhou Jianxing's eyes lit up instantly. This was fantastic news! She nodded immediately, her tone firm: "I must help! If there's anything you need me for, just let me know!"
Ajie breathed a sigh of relief and looked at her seriously: "Thanks, Xingxing."
Zhou Jianxing was busy with work the whole afternoon, but his mind couldn't help but drift to the two books.
When it was time to get off work and most people had left the office, she took out the book "Teaching You How to Say Love Words" like a thief, hid behind the partition of her workstation, and read it carefully, word by word, as seriously as if she was solving a technical problem.
Today she specifically told Wen Lingyi that she would be working overtime and would be back later. In fact, she had made an appointment in advance at the jewelry brand store to pick up the ring she had ordered.
When she took the small and exquisite ring box from the clerk, her heart was beating fast and she carefully put it into the innermost compartment of her backpack.
Now that I have the ring, I am waiting for a clear and sunny night where I can clearly see the stars in the sky.

Back at Lanyue Bay, it was already dark. The living room, lit only by a few warm yellow wall lamps, seemed quiet and cozy. As soon as she entered, she could smell the aroma of food wafting from the kitchen. Wen Lingyi had cooked dumplings for her and was leaving them on the dining table to dry.
"Are you back? Come and eat." Wen Lingyi walked over from the living room. She had already taken a shower and was wearing a comfortable silk nightgown with her hair loosely draped.
"Hmm!" Zhou Jianxing put down her bag, washed her hands, and sat down at the table. Wen Lingyi had already eaten, so she sat down across from her and watched her eat. There was even a small dish on the table with a dipping sauce that Wen Lingyi had specially prepared. However, there was obviously too much vinegar, and it smelled particularly sour.
Zhou Jianxing was very hungry. He picked up some dumplings, dipped them in the sauce and put them into his mouth, eating them with extra sweetness.
As she ate her dumplings, she couldn't help but look up, her gaze glued to Wen Lingyi's face. The warm yellow light softly outlined Wen Lingyi's profile. She lowered her head slightly to look at her phone, her long eyelashes casting a small shadow, her nose straight, and her lips pursed in a natural curve.
Wen Lingyi felt a little uncomfortable being stared at by her. She raised her eyes and touched her face: "What are you looking at? Is there something on my face?"
Zhou Jianxing's heartbeat suddenly accelerated. Thinking of the sentences he had painstakingly studied in the afternoon, his scalp suddenly felt tingling and his toes involuntarily curled up in his shoes.
But remembering the "effect" that Ajie had promised so confidently, she still gritted her teeth. Her eyes drifted towards the dumplings in the bowl, her cheeks gradually flushed, and her voice was a little stiff: "I'm looking at... Sister Wen's eyelashes."
Wen Lingyi blinked in confusion and subconsciously touched her eyelashes with her fingertips: "My eyelashes? What's wrong? What's so good about them?" She had removed her makeup, but her eyelashes were still thick and curled, like two small fans.
Zhou Jianxing took a deep breath and recited the words almost with his eyes closed: "Sister, your eyelashes are so long... I want to slide on your eyelashes..."
The air was silent for a moment. Wen Lingyi's expression froze, unable to process this inexplicable remark.
"...Enjoy your dumplings." Wen Lingyi finally glanced at her unhappily and decided to ignore this sudden outburst. She continued to look down at her phone, and the corners of her mouth couldn't help but twitch.
Zhou Jianxing buried his head in his food awkwardly, muttering to himself: What is Sister Wen’s reaction?
After eating the dumplings, Wen Lingyi stood up to clear the dishes and head to the kitchen to wash them. Zhou Jianxing followed, leaning against the kitchen doorframe. He watched Wen Lingyi roll up her sleeves, revealing her fair wrists, and expertly rinse the dishes. The water gurgled.
Wen Lingyi noticed her gaze and asked without turning her head, "What's wrong?" Her current dishwashing process had already been "trained" by Master Zhou to a very standard level, and she no longer needed any guidance.
Zhou Jianxing opened his mouth and closed it again, as if he wanted to say something but hesitated.
Wen Lingyi drained the washed dishes, wiped her hands with a clean soft cloth, turned around to face her, and raised her eyebrows slightly: "What's wrong again? What are you looking at?"
Zhou Jianxing looked up suddenly as if he was called on by the teacher to answer a question, but he didn't dare to look directly at Wen Lingyi. His eyes wandered around, and his voice was a little weaker than before:
"I'm looking at you... I suspect that my sister is a book..." She paused, as if recalling the content, "otherwise why would I... want to read more the more I read?"
Wen Lingyi was now certain that something was definitely wrong with Zhou Jianxing. She walked closer to her, looked up at her eyes, and tried to figure out if she had a fever or was possessed by something strange.
"No, stop it right there." Her tone was a mixture of amusement and helplessness. "Where did you learn this? You don't learn the good stuff, you only learn these weird things."
Zhou Jianxing frowned, feeling even more confused.
Didn't Ajie say this method was quite effective? Why did Sister Wen react like this? Didn't she like it?
Zhou Jianxing's pitiful ability to read people's expressions was completely ineffective at this moment. She was not sure about Wen Lingyi's true attitude, and she was also blushing from the continuous failure of her "sweet talk attack". She could no longer speak.

After taking a shower, only a dim bedside lamp was left in the bedroom. The gauze curtains were drawn tightly, blocking out the night outside.
The air conditioner ran quietly, maintaining a comfortable temperature. The air was filled with the faint fragrance of the skin care products and perfume that Wen Lingyi applied before going to bed, peaceful and ambiguous.
Zhou Jianxing was wearing a champagne-gold, thin-strap nightgown, the straps of which had slipped down her smooth arms. Wen Lingyi's hand gently stroked the skin of her arm, bringing a slight shudder to her, her fingertips about to explore a more sensitive area.
"Open your mouth." Wen Lingyi's voice was low, with a hint of coaxing.
Zhou Jianxing obediently opened his mouth slightly, looked at the person above with watery eyes, and his heart was beating like a drum.
Just as Wen Lingyi's fingers brushed the corner of her lips and were about to penetrate, the string in Zhou Jianxing's mind about "Teaching You Love Words" was plucked again.
She blurted out something she thought was "appropriate for the situation" without thinking, her voice flat and emotionless, like a primary school student being called upon to recite a text in class: "Sister, your hands are so beautiful, are they specially used to hold mine?"
The air froze instantly.
Wen Lingyi's movements suddenly stopped, and all the romantic atmosphere was shattered by this awkward and abrupt love remark.
She looked at Zhou Jianxing under her in disbelief. For the first time, an emotion called "gritting of teeth" clearly emerged in those eyes that were always full of affection and charm.
"Zhou Jianxing," even someone like Wen Lingyi, who was used to hiding her emotions and always seemed at ease, was almost at her wit's end. She squeezed out a voice through her teeth, "If you keep saying these corny love words..." She paused, finding a precise threat, "I'll pack you up and send you back to your home planet, Saturn, right now!"
Well, it was confirmed now. Wen Lingyi really, really, really disliked it.
Zhou Jianxing was completely dispirited. He tactfully shut his mouth tightly, wishing he could swallow back what he had just said.
Should she continue reading the Love Guide tomorrow? She was deeply confused.
