Chapter 3: An unexpected encounter with Fang Han.
“Deputy Director Lin, you walk so quietly, anyone would be scared if you suddenly appeared.” Gao Wen smiled appropriately, but tightened her grip on the teacup.
horrible.
Of course it's scary.
If it weren't for Lin Heng, how could she have ended up in such a terrible state?
Even though Lin Heng is indeed quite good-looking, and as the male lead he has a handsome face, he and Fang Han are two completely different kinds of people.
Lin Heng is 28 years old this year, older than them all, so he is naturally more mature. After this year, the director will be transferred abroad, and he will smoothly take over the position of director.
Young age, but a bright future awaits.
Compared to Fang Han's humility, gentleness, sincerity, and enthusiasm, Lin Heng is the standard domineering CEO figure in the novel. He is calm and rational, cold in nature, a workaholic, and deep down carries the undisguised arrogance of a local rich kid from the capital.
If it weren't for the plot, Gao Wen couldn't understand why she would be so obsessed with Lin Heng. In her opinion, in such a big capital city, with so many men, why bother with just one?
Lin Heng parted his thin lips slightly, his eyes dark as he looked at Gao Wen: "You're still young and ambitious, always thinking there are endless possibilities in the future, but reality is cruel, there aren't that many fairy tales. It wasn't easy for you to get this internship, don't give it up easily."
"I can speak to the director on your behalf and say that you should consider your resignation as impulsive. If you work hard, you might be able to get a permanent position before you even graduate."
He had misunderstood Gao Wen before and didn't really want her to be promoted, so as not to get in his way.
Now, to be fair, she is hardworking, diligent, and has a good attitude. She is a good employee, and the fact that she might be promoted to a permanent position before graduation is a reassurance he gave her.
Lin Heng's sudden tempting promise did not flatter Gao Wen; instead, it terrified her so much that the hairs on the back of her neck stood on end.
Isn't this pushing her into a fire pit?
Gao Wen took a sip of tea, trying her best to calm herself down, and looked at Lin Heng with her clear eyes: "Thank you, Deputy Director Lin, but I really don't like this industry."
Lin Heng said expressionlessly, "Nobody likes working."
“I have things I like,” Gao Wen replied without hesitation. “You might not be good at this line of work, but you might not be bad at it if you switch to another line. Life has endless possibilities. Who knows if you don’t try?”
Lin Heng stared at the persistence and determination revealed in those clear and bright eyes, and was speechless for a moment.
Gao Wen held the tea and thanked Lin Heng again before leaving.
Lin Heng felt that although she was young and naive, she was indeed polite and well-mannered.
Little did anyone know, Gao Wen left so quickly that her steps became disordered, as if she wanted to take a train overnight.
The work that should have taken two days to complete was handed over by Gao Wen in just one afternoon because she was so efficient. She also took the opportunity to complete her resignation procedures.
After she packed her things and left, none of the group reacted.
When Lin Heng heard the news, he came out and looked at her empty workstation, lost in thought.
*
Gao Wen didn't find a job in advance; she simply wanted to get away from that company and from Lin Heng, the "source of her nightmare."
She also had a plan in mind for the future.
Gao Wen had practiced yoga for several years and then completed a year of advanced training, giving her a more solid foundation than most instructors on the market. She originally planned to make it a stable side job after graduation, but now that she's unemployed and struggling to make ends meet, she naturally needs to prioritize basic needs like food and clothing.
Gao Wen decided to go to a nearby shopping mall. Even if she couldn't find a job, going to a crowded place would help her relax.
There was a yoga studio on the fifth floor of the mall. Gao Wen looked at it from the doorway for a while and then went inside.
"Hello, welcome to Fanying Yoga Studio." The receptionist glanced at Gao Wen from head to toe without making a sound, then smiled warmly.
Gao Wen walked over and asked, "Are you hiring yoga teachers?"
When the receptionist saw that it wasn't a customer, her smile vanished almost entirely. Their yoga studio, located in a shopping mall, had plenty of yoga teachers; people would come and ask questions every few days, it was incredibly annoying.
However, Gao Wen's appearance is truly striking. She wore a simple white short-sleeved shirt with a pair of slim-fit jeans, showing off her long neck, slender and straight legs, and graceful figure.
The receptionist swallowed her dismissive words and looked Gao Wen up and down a few more times: "Do you have a yoga certificate? How many years have you been practicing?"
Some members are very picky; good looks and good figures are also resources. Otherwise, how could we trick members into buying more courses?
Gao Wen: "I practiced yoga for three years, got my yoga certificate, and taught myself a lot about rehabilitation and nutrition."
Actually, it takes more than three years, which is enough. Further studies are something from a "past life" for her, and she can't provide any evidence.
"Leave your phone number, and I'll talk to the manager." The receptionist casually flipped through her notebook and tossed the pen over. "If you need someone, we can arrange a trial class."
"Thanks."
Gao Wen left her contact information and then departed.
This yoga studio clearly wasn't short of people, so she didn't have high hopes.
After walking out, Gao Wen saw a gym across the street.
She thought for a moment and headed towards the gym. If she remembered correctly, the gym also offered yoga classes, and many novice yoga teachers worked part-time there.
When Gao Wen went in to ask, a female manager happened to be there. The moment she saw Gao Wen, her eyes lit up.
The female manager said, "We don't have any full-time yoga teachers here; they're all part-time."
“I’m looking for a part-time job,” Gao Wen said.
"Is now a convenient time for a trial class?" the female manager asked.
Gao Wen didn't react for a moment, then immediately replied, "I'm available anytime."
The female manager called over a female coach and found an empty classroom.
Gao Wen has always practiced on her own and has never given a lesson to anyone, but she is not intimidated at all. She can treat it as practice.
However, she did quite well, at least the female instructor thought so. The instructor looked at her slender figure and laughed, "You yoga students are so great! You're all so slim and upright, unlike those of us from the gym, some of us are quite muscular." She then touched the muscles in her arms and couldn't help but laugh.
Although Gao Wen didn't think so, she was somewhat silent when she recalled those big guys with abs and pecs in the gym.
The female manager didn't tell Gao Wen to go home and wait for news, but instead asked, "Can you come to class this week?"
Gao Wen: "Sure."
"That's good," the female manager nodded. "The gym also has four yoga classes a week. One of them is already being taught by another teacher, and the remaining three are still vacant. You can check the schedule and choose which ones to take. If you're available, it would be best if you could teach them all. That way, you'll be more familiar with the members, and the classes can be conducted smoothly."
“I just watched for a while, and you’re quite professional,” the female manager said, then added with a smile, “Mainly, your demeanor is on point; you’re obviously a yoga practitioner.”
Good-looking people are always pleasing to the eye!
Gao Wen glanced at the course list as a formality and replied, "I can attend any of them."
Each class lasts an hour, so the workload is not heavy.
She's now hoping to earn more money through part-time work.
"Okay, let's start this week." The female manager asked Gao Wen to enter the information, and the two added each other on WeChat.
"I'll make the course schedule tonight and send you a copy later." Gao Wen didn't hide her joy at successfully finding a part-time job, and the corners of her mouth curled up.
Yoga isn't the main course at the gym, so the requirements aren't actually that strict, but who wouldn't want to be more professional in every aspect?
The female manager was very satisfied with Gao Wen's work attitude and nodded with a smile: "Okay."
Three classes a week, 150 yuan per class, that's 1,800 yuan a month.
Gao Wen was very satisfied. She walked out, looked down and opened the map, thinking that if she could find a similar part-time job, her financial problem would be solved.
"Gao Wen?"
Upon hearing this, Gao Wen instinctively looked up and saw Fang Han standing right in front of her. Her fair face showed surprise, and her eyes widened: "Senior, what are you doing here?"
Looking at her fair and beautiful face, Fang Han's heart skipped a beat for no reason. He couldn't help but smile and explain, "My colleague said that a new gym has opened here and is having a promotion, so he asked me to come with him to take a look."
Gao Wen understood and composed herself: "I see."
Fang Han glanced at Gao Wen, but didn't ask her why she was there. Instead, he invited her, "Want to have a meal together?"
Fang Han's sincere attitude, the earnestness in his speech, and the clear, bright look in his eyes made it hard for Gao Wen to refuse again and again. She thought that she might not have the chance to meet again in the future, so she agreed.
"What would you like to eat?" Fang Han's smile deepened as he asked her.
Gao Wen: "Anything is fine, I'm not picky."
Fang Han carefully studied the food options in the mall, and the two of them eventually went to a restaurant serving sour soup hot pot.
When ordering, Gao Wen didn't hold back and ordered several dishes she wanted to eat.
She wanted to treat Fang Han to this meal; in fact, she should have done so a long time ago.
After ordering, Fang Han poured Gao Wen a cup of tea. He tried to start a conversation with her, talking about her thesis proposal, school, and the new snack shop that had opened in the cafeteria... He avoided mentioning her work and internship.
Fang Han wasn't a talkative person, and Gao Wen could tell he was racking his brains. This made her laugh again: "Senior, I officially resigned today, and the handover of my work is complete."
"That's good." Fang Han said, then comforted her softly, "You can take a good rest for a while. There's no rush. You still have plenty of time before graduation. If I come across a suitable position for you, I'll keep an eye out for it."
“I found a part-time job, it’s pretty good,” Gao Wen said.
She didn't tell Fang Han what kind of part-time job it was.
Fang Han didn't ask any more questions, but was happy for her. He secretly breathed a sigh of relief and smiled, "I couldn't find a part-time job when I was a senior in college. I went around in circles and only came to this company when I was about to graduate. You're already very capable."
He was telling the truth; he genuinely thought she was ambitious, driven, and very capable.
"Senior," Gao Wen suddenly called out to Fang Han.
"Hmm?" Fang Han paused in his tea-serving motion, responding gently.
"Although you're trying to comfort me, this excuse isn't convincing enough," Gao Wen said, her clear eyes fixed on Fang Han, a smile playing on her lips. "If I remember correctly, you already had works that won highly prestigious awards while you were in school. You must have been receiving so many offers during campus recruitment, right? After all this time, haven't you decided which one to choose?"
That's not what I meant—
Gao Wen's smile widened, and she nodded, saying, "Of course, the failures and setbacks in the world of academic elites are beyond our comprehension. You were probably quite confused back then."
"......"
Fang Han couldn't argue with Gao Wen, so he could only helplessly and anxiously explain.
Looking at Fang Han like this, Gao Wen's gloom and heaviness vanished, replaced by a broad smile. Approaching Lin Heng always made her internal alarm bells ring, and she longed to escape as quickly as possible.
She didn't want to get close to Fang Han, afraid of hurting him, but being with him was really fun and relaxing.
