Chapter 12 Who's so kind as to send so many jigsaw puzzles?

After receiving the money, Yun Nuan waited in the garden for many days until she finally saw the little boy. This time, he was licking the huge one.

She was curious about where he got so much delicious food, and she was a little envious.

However, she still took out ten yuan from her pocket and returned it to him.

"Here's your ten yuan back, thank you."

The little boy took it, took a big bite, and then said, "You can call me Anzai. It's a nickname my mom gave me, and everyone around me calls me that."

He didn't care at all why Yun Nuan took so long to repay him; in fact, he had completely forgotten about it.

He was focused on biting down on it, occasionally exchanging a few words with Yun Nuan. Only Yun Nuan knew that the thing was really tempting her with all its might.

Watching the interaction between the two, and seeing the money she took out, Qin Yan upstairs immediately knew what she needed the money for yesterday. But why did she borrow money from someone, and where did the money go?

Unable to figure it out, his dark eyes reflected the image in them, causing him to look up from time to time as he slowly finished processing the documents at hand.

After finishing his meal, Anzai said goodbye to her and ran off to the ward. A little while later, Aunt Lan also came downstairs to look for Yunnuan.

Yun Nuan's health has improved significantly compared to before. The doctor also said that after a few more months of rest, she would be ready for surgery. Everyone was very happy with this result, and even Qin Yan couldn't help but relax.

Looking at Yun Nuan, she seemed detached, her expression unchanged, even though she had already learned to smile freely with Aunt Lan yesterday.

Today, she seemed to have returned to the day they first met, becoming indifferent.

After everyone left, Qin Yan couldn't help but observe her. In the past half month, her complexion had improved a lot under Aunt Lan's care, and her face hadn't gotten any thinner.

She can even exchange a few words with the kid downstairs, though she's never been very talkative with him.

"Aren't you happy about the surgery?" Qin Yan asked.

The person who was building Lego didn't stop, but simply replied, "No."

Qin Yan discovered that her voice wasn't naturally hoarse; it was just that the caregiver who took care of her at the time wasn't attentive enough. She would just leave things there and let her make her own food and drink, or give her cold, leftover water. Her constitution meant that drinking cold water would always cause her to catch a cold and get a fever.

She must have been refusing to drink water at that time, which caused her voice to be exceptionally dry and hoarse.

Things are different now. Her voice is now very soft, not a babyish voice, but a clear and crisp one. When her voice is soft, it has a gentle quality, which contrasts sharply with her current cold expression.

"Then why did you look so unhappy just now?" Qin Yan pressed.

She seemed annoyed, glared at him, then lowered her head and continued what she was doing.

"You're so annoying!"

Qin Yan sighed helplessly. She could speak now, but her mouth was clearly going in the opposite direction.

As he left, he pointed to the half-finished Lego set in her hand and said...

"This part is misspelled, let's start over." After saying that, he pushed the wheelchair and left her hospital room.

Yun Nuan, lying in the hospital bed, looked at the spot he pointed to and carefully compared it with the step-by-step diagram. She realized that she had indeed spelled it wrong. She helplessly roared at Qin Yan's back, "This person clearly knew she had spelled it wrong all along, but he only said so now!"

Did he know how long it took her? Aunt Lan came in from outside, her thermos filled with warm water that tasted a little sweet. She ate bland food every day, so she tried to make the water sweet for her, sometimes honey water, sometimes sugar water.

"Childish, Aunt Lan, Qin Yan is so childish." She complained earnestly to Aunt Lan.

Aunt Lan couldn't help but pat her head and say with a smile, "How could Mr. Qin bully you? He's really too childish."

Seeing that Aunt Lan was on her side, she was in a good mood and didn't care. She put a straw in her thermos and placed it near Aunt Lan's mouth.

She sipped her drink, only stopping when she had almost finished.

"Thank you, Aunt Lan." She has learned to smile now, and when she smiles, two small dimples appear on her cheeks, filling Aunt Lan's heart with tenderness.

"Oh, so good."

Qin Yan's plans are all progressing very smoothly. On the surface, he has pushed all the projects to his second uncle, and even within the company, anyone he had previously promoted has been reassigned to unimportant positions by his second uncle.

Recently, a plot of land in the south of the city has been put up for bidding. Someone has spread the news that the government will cooperate on this plot. If they can win the bid, they will have no worries about the annual income.

Having just taken over, Uncle Qin was naturally eager to complete a project to prove himself and show that the Qin family could function without Qin Yan.

So when Uncle Qin heard the news, he naturally invested all his money. This was the one Qin Yan had been waiting for. However, the cooperation was not with this piece of land in the south of the city, but with the West Mansion that he had already acquired.

When Assistant Wen took the documents away, he specifically mentioned this matter to Qin Yan.

"Boss, the message has been sent out, and they've taken the bait."

Qin Yan nodded, rubbing his hand against the side of the wheelchair a few times. The line had been laid out long enough; it was time to reel it in.

"Please reply to the invitation to the banquet; I will attend."

After Assistant Wen left, he passed by the ward where Yun Nuan was staying. There were three people living on that floor.

Yun Nuan was alone; Aunt Lan lived next door and took care of her, and then there was Qin Yan. Passing by Yun Nuan's ward, he realized he hadn't brought the newly bought jigsaw puzzle.

Qin Yan placed another order for a 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle. He almost had a heart attack when he saw the order. Actually, it seems quite nice for Miss Yun to be daydreaming.

"Miss Yun, how are you feeling today?"

Yun Nuan looked up and saw that the person who came was Assistant Wen. She smiled at him before answering.

"I'm fine today, thank you for your concern."

She had learned a lot about communication during this time and felt that her statement was quite good. Assistant Wen was amused by her earnest reply.

"That's good. The doctor said that you can be discharged in a few days to go home and recuperate. Once you've recovered, you can have the surgery, and Miss Yun won't have to suffer so much."

Little did anyone know that she paused for a moment upon hearing this, then simply chuckled in response. Assistant Wen knew she wasn't exactly talkative, so he didn't understand the meaning behind her expression and continued speaking.

"The boss asked me to buy you another jigsaw puzzle, but I forgot to bring it this time. I'll bring it to you next time."

She pursed her lips and looked up at him with a rather serious expression.

"Can we exchange it for another one? A thousand yuan is too much. Can we buy a five hundred yuan one first?"

Assistant Wen inwardly roared, "Who would buy a thousand-piece jigsaw puzzle for a patient? Only their CEO Qin would do that."

"Okay, I'll talk to the boss next time."

The two didn't chat for long before the nurse came to change her dressing. She had been experiencing a slight hypothermia for the past two days, and since the medication wasn't helping, she had to continue receiving injections.

The injection helped a lot, but the back of her hand turned bruised again.
